Hinged to reveal a fitted dimension as shown above. We searched extensively on the internet to find information about this piece of history and all we could find is as explained below: Hirschfelder& Meaney was established in 1893. With offices and salesrooms at No. 22 Sutter Street. Its factory was located at Twentieth and Florida streets in San Francisco and covers an area of eleven thousand square feet. The San Francisco Call Newspaper of November 16th 1911 listed their address to be on 519 Market Street and another internet search revealed they moved to Battery Street around 1913. Hirschfelder& Meaney was also listed in the 1926 San Francisco chamber of commerce publication as a chest maker with address at 36 battery street San Francisco. Earlier edition of same publication published in 1910 listed same company’s address to be 519 Market Street There are documentations published between 1910 and 1926 that made reference to this company. I have not seen any reference to the company after 1926. This however does not mean one is not out there and for this reason we listed this chest as mid to early 1920. Please do your research to get more information about this vintage chest. We have supplied all the information we had as of the time of listing. For sale today is a beautifully restored MM Secor wall saver beveled lid trunk. This is a very rare style of trunk. I did not find any patent dates on this great MM Secor trunk and based on 40 plus years experience restoring trunks I would date this trunk to the 1880's' to 1900's which makes this neat old flat top over a 100 years old- a true antique. I have restored over 600 trunks in the last 40 plus years and I have restored ONE MM Secor wall saver trunk. This is a very rare trunk in excellent restored condition. This trunk was structurally sound when the restoration started and the metal bottom is solid. Has multiple coats of clear, three original slats and four original metal wheels and ... morethe trunk rolls easily. The three original hinges are HD, fancy, tight and the lid closes well. There are 50 plus polished pieces of original hardware. The center lock is polished and there is no key. The mechanical latches are polished, HD, fancy, tight and one works and the other does not work at all. The original tray is present and the interior has been removed. The metal/tin is in VGC. The lid stay is original to the trunk. There are 18 solid oak slats in a golden oak color. New black leather handles were installed with the original end caps. Antique Steamer Trunk Chest Dome/Flat Top Vintage original never restored 1800's
Antique Steamer Trunk. Dome/Flat Top, 100+ years old, original never restored This antique Steamer Trunk is commonly referred to as either a“Dome-Top” or“Flat-Top” It has the rounded front and back edges. It is tin covered with wooden bands. The interior has the original tray. Covered compartments and graphics. The hook that holds the tray up is still intact and holds the tray up and out of the way just fine. The pins that hold the tray in place allowing it to swivel up are also fully intact and working. The graphics have amazingly bright vivid colors and are in pretty good shape considering it is over 100 years old. This trunk has small metal wheels on the bottom for easy transportation. As seen in the pictures. They are a little rusty, but the wheels turn remarkably smooth and freely. The leather strap handles have broken off. But the hardware ... morethat holds them is still intact. Through the years, it has developed mild mildew and rust. please refer to the pictures as full disclosure of the condition) I don’t know the year of this trunk but through research and family history I am guessing it to be from the late 1800’s. If anyone out there knows. I’d appreciate any information you can offer. Approximate measurements: 34” long x 20”wide x 24” tall A brief family history as it may relate to this trunk’s age. My great grandmother was born in 1865. My mother’s family immigrated to the United States from Germany in 1881. My grandmother was born in 1895. My mother was born in 1925. This trunk has been handed down through the generations. My mother knew my grandmother had it. However I don’t know who had it first, my great grandma or grandma. Is it possible it came from Germany and was brought to the United States when they immigrated? One can only imagine the history behind this trunk and where it’s been. Rare Antique Jenny Lind/Stagecoach Trunk, ca 1860, Restored
For your consideration is a fully restored antique Jenny Lind/stagecoach trunk from the mid 1800's. This trunk has an embossed leather covering. The leather was in very good condition. Therefore it was cleaned and shined. There is a small amount of leather missing on the lower right corner. The brass buttons were cleaned(all original) and the metal straps were returned to their original green color. Side handles are original but one handle strap needed replacing. It comes with its original brass plated working lock with key. Please note the unusual acorn shaped keyhole cover. The interior was stripped of its worn paper and replaced with fabric as pictured. For sale today is a beautifully restored stagecoach trunk with smooth metal and the restoration turned out just great. I did not find any patent dates on the trunk and based on 40 plus years restoring trunks I would put this great old humpback circa the 1870's to 1880's which makes this trunk as much as 144 years old- a true antique. Shipping is available for this great old humpback. Ebay will not allow me to offer shipping because it is an over sized package. This trunk was structurally sound when the restoration started and the wood bottom is solid. Has multiple coats of paint, three original slats, four new metal wheels and the trunk rolls easily. The two original hinges are HD, fancy, tight and the lid closes well. There are 20 polished pieces of original hardware. The center lock was made by the Improved Lock Co and is polished, ... morehas a brass keyhole and there is no key. The black leather latches are new, fancy, tight and work well. The original tray is long gone and the trunk has a new large custom built tray and the interior has been removed. The metal/tin is in VGC. A new metal lid stay has been installed. Restored Antique Victorian Flat Top Ladies Steamer Trunk, Hat Trunk, Half Trunk
This restored antique steamer trunk had originally been a ladies hat trunk and is significantly smaller than a standard steamer trunk. The chestnut slats are solid and the metal fittings are all in good condition. It has its original Eagle working lock and key. The metal bottom cover is in excellent condition. The latches work fine and the lid stay is solid. The trunk is structurally sound. Clean and ready to put back in service. It is 26" wide, 21" deep, and 23" high. Its small size makes it perfect for an apartment or condo where space may be at a premium. This trunk has been restored to maintain its appearance and its utility as an antique, not to make it look likes its new. With normal care, it will be around into the next century.

ANTIQUE VICTORIAN STEAMER CHEST TRUNK VINTAGE 1900-1930 RESTORED SILVER DOME
Asheville Embossed Silver Dome Trunk 1900-1930 This is an attractive medium-sized trunk from the early 20th century. A solidly constructed dome steamer made of wood, trimmed with embossed silver tin, and featuring a lid with only a slight arc. It’s 30.5 inches wide, 16.5 inches front to back, and 19.5 inches tall– a perfect complement to any rustic decor. The trunk is constructed of a pine box with fluted hardwood slats across the top. Front and back. The sides also have exposed a refinished wood. It has been restored with thick black leather handles and a new lid stay to hold it open– otherwise the trunk and all of its appointments are in their original condition. A unique feature is the large original lithograph of an Indian maiden in a canoe that covers the entire inside lid. Which was preserved in the restoration. Although there is no ... moreevidence of its manufacturer. It was purchased at an estate sale in Asheville, N.C. and its design and appointments mirror those of trunks produced between 1900 and the 1930s. The bottom. Which has its original working rollers, has been cleaned, painted, and sealed with polyurethane so it safely sits on floors or carpets. The trunk is solid and clean and has absolutely no stale or musty odors. The hinges are tight and the lid fits securely when closed, yet opens easily. Although there is no key, the lock appears to be in working condition if the buyer chooses to fit it with a locksmith reproduction. The inside has been cleaned. Sanded, and finished with tung oil so it’s ready for use as storage or display. It features the original removable tray, which has also been refinished with tung oil. Up for bid is a UNIQUE. Antique, Tartan Plaid, Toy/Child's/Doll Trunk- FULLY RESTORED and ready to display your treasures! Measurements: 8" length- 4" height- 4" width.TINY! I felt that the only way to restore this tiny trunk and keep it's unique. Dramatic tartan style/personality was to replace the tartan plaid exterior instead of just removing it. The original personality would have been lost forever and there are less and less of these darling little tartan covered trunks left to enjoy. It took a lot of shopping to find a tartan plaid with similar bright colors found in the original paper. I was unable to find material that matched the purple print within the trunk. However, I did find a blotchy tea colored material that looks old and stained like the original. Please look at all the pictures provided to see that ... morethis trunk is now strong. Functional, and striking with its Tartan personality! I adore this little trunk, however, I will be the first to say that it is NOT PERFECT and never was; which is part of its charm.=) Now look at the two pictures of its before restoration condition(more pictures are available upon request) The lid was/is not square and does not sit correctly on top of the trunk. To make matters worse, the latch was not centered and in addition, the two parts of the latch were not lined up properly. The consequences were that one of the hinges had undue pressure put on it until the wood/hinge broke off. The wood had to be reinforced and the hinges reinstalled with clinch nails to repair the damage. The repair was made to coordinate with the style of the trunk with its red painted trunk slats and red tray supports. The hinges have added support from the two, lid stay straps too. We want those tiny hinges to last as long as possible and two lid straps instead of one will help support the hinges. Please see pics. The latch also had to be removed and reattached with clinch nails. Latching the trunk will no longer twist the trunk lid and cause the hinges/wood to break. I con

1800s ANTIQUE VICTORIAN HUMP BACK NICE DOME TOP CHEST TRUNK VINTAGE RESTORED
Here is a nice medium-sized trunk from the late 1800s or very early 1900s. A very well made dome/ hump top trunk or stage coach chest. We sometimes see these refered to as steamer trunks also. It is made of wood. Trimmed or covered with ornate embossed tin with a great geometric pattern to it. It measures 34" inches wide x 21 1/2" inches deep[front to back] and 24" inches tall– a perfect complement to any rustic decor whether modern or antique. The trunk is constructed of a box with hardwood slats across the top for protection during shipping on all four sides and top. It has been restored with thick stitched brown leather handles which are identical to the originals and a new lid stay to hold it open– otherwise the trunk and all of its hardware are in their original.
