Antique 19th Century Victorian Child's Doll Trunk Chest Box
Up for auction is an original 19th Century Victorian Child’s Doll Trunk. Everything looks original. It measures approximately 16 inches across the front and 9.5 inches across the side and approximately 10.25 inches tall at its highest point. It is not flat on top but is slightly domed(see pics) The lid closes and it is aligned. The hinges attached to the lid are firm. There is no key. The tray is missing. The leather handles on the side are missing. The inside of the trunk smells like wood and not mildew or mustiness. There is a cut out portion on the front of the top of the trunk(see pics) It has splits. Cracks and paper covering is peeled and falling off and leather has cracks. Some metal parts are damaged and bent. Hinges do not hold the lid up when fully extended. Obviously, based upon my pictures, this trunk needs tender loving care ... moreand complete restoration. Overall size: 14" wide x 9" deep x 10" high On the exterior there is some loss and wear to the printed paper here and there. Both leather handles are broken but still there, and the paperboard trim that goes around the lid is detached at one corner. I see some light moisture stains to the paper as well. The wooden slats could use some polish. Overall the condition of the exterior is above average compared to the majority of unrestored trunks like this one. No key for the trunk. And the lid half of the latch doesn't have the part that would attach to the bottom part where you put the key. Inside. The ribbon like support string that holds the trunk upright when open is detached on one end, there is a panel type door missing from the lid, there is a tear to another lid panel, and there is a panel type door missing from the till and the one that is still attached to the lid is loose at the paper hinge. The paper condition inside is decent overall comparatively. Take a good look at the pictures to judge condition for yourself in case I missed something. As asset liquidators. Small Antique Doll Trunk Original Paper and Tray Clean & Sturdy
Small flat top doll trunk. Covered with paper in a brown and black wood grain pattern and accented with red strips along the edges. The basic trunk is made of wood and still very sturdy, however the paper covering on the outside shows some wear along the edges, but the paper itself is still very well attached. It has a lock on the front but no key for it. One of the leather handles is broken. The 2 hinges on the back are in very good shape. This little trunk still has it original tray, covered with paper in a beige solid color with some minor wear as well but it is clean and does not have an offensive smell. It measures 10" across the front, 5.5" deep and 4.5" high. This little trunk probably was a treasured toy for some little girl around the turn of the century which would make it about 100+ years old and is now looking for ... morea new home. S/H $8.70. 1860's Jenny Lind Antique Doll Trunk, Porcelain Tacks
Square-sided Jenny Lind doll trunk. Professionally restored including 28 porcelain tacks resting on ornate brass. The dimensions are 12 x 7 x 7. Outside has been lightly sanded and hand-rubbed with tung oil. The trunk has brass dust cover strip, original handles, and brass lock(non-working) The inside has been covered with cloth reflecting the era and has a small print of old-fashioned ladies on the inside of the lid. Here's a Very Old. Antique Miniature Arch Top Trunk for Dolls. Please, see all the pics as they are an important part of the description. This is from the 1800s and from what I can gather, through a little research, it's probably from the 1850s to 1870s but, I'm not positive.you girls who collect these things will know by looking at it, immediately. It Measures 14" Long X 8 1/8" Front to Back X 9" Tall. Both the Trunk and the Tray are structurally sound with no loose joints or corner wiggling or racking.it's firm all around. The Latch is Original, I believe but the rear hinges look to be of a later date. The Original painted cotton cloth covering(over the wood) which is what they used back then(much the same as many full-sized trunks from back then) is torn and/or missing in several areas. I suppose this can ... morebe restored if so desired. There are two knot holes in one end of the trunk. These were not drilled by anybody.they are actual natural holes where the knots fell out a long time ago. The Original Interior Paper covering is well worn. RARE CHILD~DOLL SIZE ANTIQUE WOOD STEAMER TRUNK~EXCELSIOR MADE IN USA~W DRAWERS
For your bidding consideration today. We have a rare antique child or doll size antique steamer trunk, just like the big ones! The trunk is made of wood, with a tweed looking covering on the outside. This trunk stands up like the larger ones,with drawers on one side, and the opposite side has the lift top,with a hanging bar underneath. It has a center lock, and two side closures. The center lock is marked USA EXCELSIOR STANFORD CONN. The drawers have wood sides, and I think heavy cardboard on the front, back and bottom. They have a leather pull on each drawer. It is rare to see a trunk made this way in this size. The piece measures 22" tall, and 10.5" wide and deep. There are some spots, on the bottom if you had the piece standing up, on the outside and inside, maybe water damage, I don't know. There is scattered spots on the ... morehe outside, and I have not attempted to clean them. There is some rust on the hinges, and bumped corners that show the wood, and the leather handle at the top is missing. All in all, a very nice collectible that would be great in a children's room, or could be used for a doll display. It weighs almost 10 pounds before packing. The lock is a sneaky one. The key turns counter clockwise to lock. And to unlock you turn clockwise and then push the key in the lock downwards. When you do that the lock pops open. The interior has the original paper lining and paper covered wood drawers. The drawers have the original metal nobs. The paper is worn here and there and has some discoloration, but is mostly intact. It is designed to hold a doll on one side and all of her clothing and accessories in the drawers on the other side. The doll compartment is 17 ½ by 10” and 5” deep. The other side has 4 drawers. This is a great Collectible trunk or would be a wonderful addition for a vintage Doll Display! Wooden construction covered with dark brown leather with metal trim leather straps(both are broke) inside is lined with a decorative paper 2 section insert tray under the lid is a label that reads-Frank A. Stallman. Manufactured for Stallman's Dresser Trunk Theatrical and Commercial Work 57 East Spring St. Columbus. O. MEASURES- 18-1/4" 9-3/4" tall 8-1/2" depth CONDITION-Vintage condition. With normal wear, some soiling and moisture spots, missing the top of the lock, one bracket that hold the insert is loose, one handle could be repaired the other will need to be replaced, some of the tips of the ... moredecorative metal trim are bent, still very solid and while not perfect just the right amount of patina for great collectible!

Antique Child's Steamer Trunk or doll trunk dome camel top small trunk
This little steamer trunk is wood and metal and was likely for a child who wanted one just like his/her parents had. The finish is military army green. The top is the wonderful curved camel-back style. It is metal finished on all edges and affixed with what I believe are brass tacks. And there is metal strapping all around, as well. There are also strips of wood affixed with, again, what I believe are brass tacks and metal corners(all of which are present, and also tacked) The side handle hardware is still present, but the leather that was likely between them is gone. Also, the movable metal pieces that would have gone over the latches are no longer present. The center lock appears to be intact but bent. And there is no key. It appears that there was a shelf inside at one time, but it is no longer present. The hinges work fine. There is a ... morepicture inside the lid of a boy and girl on a wharf. The boy is wearing a striped middy blouse and what appears to be knickers although from his sitting position it is hard to be certain. There is wear to the finish and light stains inside. There is a strip of fabric attached inside which has a name woven in it, likely the maker's name, but I cannot make out what it says(see last picture) On the outside, one side is stenciled Wash, D.C. and the other side is stenciled A.D.L. C713) 1880s– 1890s Doll’s Dome Top Trunk Maroon& Black“Alligator” Metal Covering This 1880s– 1890s doll’s dome top trunk. Measuring 16” across by 10 ¼” tall by 9 1/8” deep, is very attractive just as it came from its attic; we wiped off with a stiff brush, outside, a soft brush inside. It is most unusual& beautiful as its outer covering is pressed tin as an“alligator” hide design done in maroon& black& with many variations in the sizes& shapes of its textured surface. Only a small lower back end has any loss of the black paint as that’s“higher” than the red. There are 3/4” wide metal bands across the dome& down the front of the trunk& 1 end of the back; there are 7/8” metal bands around the bottom of the lid’s front& sides as well as both top ends of the lid’s back& 1 lower end of the trunk’s back. ... moreAll the straps. Painted flat black, have 5/8” round tin disks with beaded edges spaced as accents or ornaments, 4 on either side of the top& front with only 1 lost on the back part of the lid. There are also 5 grooved strips of wood added, 3 on top& 1 on the front& back at the middle, all fastened on with thin ornamental tin brackets of sorts. A third of the front’s strip is lost as is that end’s fastener. These wood trim pieces each have 2 of the round beaded accents used on the black bands. The front’s lock is still here, but it has no key; above the lock is the upper part of a latch. There are also 2 round metal disks on the dome, 1 on the front section& 1 on the back; these slightly thicker ornaments have a plain raised rounded edge with a center flower of 6 small round petals. The trunk’s 2 original leather straps are gone, but their metal end holders are still here; I’m glad, especially because each has a raised union shield of stars& bars with other stars under the shields. On offer is this antique child or doll-size Jenny Lind stagecoach trunk. In the classic hourglass or"loaf of bread" shape, measuring 12" x 7¼" The box looks like pine wood and is in good solid condition. The leather banding is in fair condition. But looks quite aged and crackled, with some small sections missing(see photos) The hinges are good. There is no inside tray. This style of trunk is named after Jenny Lind. The"Swedish Nightingale, an opera singer who became a superstar first in Europe, and then toured America with P.T. This small size steamer trunk measures 14 1/2" wide by 10 1/4" high x 9 1/2" deep. It is constructed of wood slats with leather edges and brass corner accents. One piece of wood on the bottom appears to have been replaced. Some of the leather is very worn and cracked with some losses. The interior is stained and there is no tray. The lock is functional though the key we will send along is probably not original and requires some jiggling to get it to work. There are two areas on the inside where the wood is split to the outside(one on the top and one on the inside backing) scratches and faded areas of original black decorative decor. The bottom has a couple nails sticking out. There is rusting on the decorative brass fixtures. There is some fraying of the wood in various areas and some holes that do not protrude to the outside of the box. There are handles on either side of the box. Fabulous 1800's Antique Doll or Child's trunk. In great shape for it's age- very sound structure and no mildew or musty smell. Measures in inches approximately: 9.75 D X 16 W X 11.5 H. Has been in my family since the early 1970's. Features: Small wooden chest of square design with lovely red/brown lithograph paper bearing beautiful designs. Inside there is a removable. 2 compartment top tray. Tray rails are solid and existing. Tray fits firmly and is supported. All metal stays are solid and in place. Paper covering is original. No mildew or musty smells. Metal features are not damaged nor bent. Lid closes firm and completely aligned. Hinge tight. Straight and completely aligned. Inside. Hinge to keep lid from closing unexpectedly(I have not confirmed if hinge locks fully extended, but the lid holds itself up just fine with ... morethe hinge nearly extended to full position) Noteable known defects- see pictures. Leather side handles are missing. Water stains at the bottom. But no water damage inside Some missing paper at edges. Some edges and a section on top. Crack on top of lid and another one on one side. Depression in front side of tray. About the size of a finger. Edge wear. Including an exposed nail. No key- have not tried to latch the lock. Note: A long time ago a piece of paper covering. The size of a nickel came off and was stored inside the chest. I don't know where it came off from. It's included in case you wish to mend it somewhere. Up for bid is a UNIQUE. Antique, Tartan Plaid, Toy/Child's/Doll Trunk- FULLY RESTORED and ready to display your treasures! Measurements: 8" length- 4" height- 4" width.TINY! I felt that the only way to restore this tiny trunk and keep it's unique. Dramatic tartan style/personality was to replace the tartan plaid exterior instead of just removing it. The original personality would have been lost forever and there are less and less of these darling little tartan covered trunks left to enjoy. It took a lot of shopping to find a tartan plaid with similar bright colors found in the original paper. I was unable to find material that matched the purple print within the trunk. However, I did find a blotchy tea colored material that looks old and stained like the original. Please look at all the pictures provided to see that ... morethis trunk is now strong. Functional, and striking with its Tartan personality! I adore this little trunk, however, I will be the first to say that it is NOT PERFECT and never was; which is part of its charm.=) Now look at the two pictures of its before restoration condition(more pictures are available upon request) The lid was/is not square and does not sit correctly on top of the trunk. To make matters worse, the latch was not centered and in addition, the two parts of the latch were not lined up properly. The consequences were that one of the hinges had undue pressure put on it until the wood/hinge broke off. The wood had to be reinforced and the hinges reinstalled with clinch nails to repair the damage. The repair was made to coordinate with the style of the trunk with its red painted trunk slats and red tray supports. The hinges have added support from the two, lid stay straps too. We want those tiny hinges to last as long as possible and two lid straps instead of one will help support the hinges. Please see pics. The latch also had to be removed and reattached with clinch nails. Latching the trunk will no longer twist the trunk lid and cause the hinges/wood to break. I con

Fabulous Antique Doll Trunk - Treasures Inside
This auction is for a fabulous antique doll trunk and it is incredible! It measures 7.5" wide x 10" long and it is 7 1/4" tall. This is one of the oldest antique doll trunks that I have ever seen and the man on the inside of the lid compartment looks like a religious figure to me and he is incredible.This door lifts down to expose a paper lined dome-shaped compartment above. The paper lined tray is lovely(it has discolored with age) and the compartment below that is paper lined and it is older than the hills. It has some tears in the paper and also a horizontal crack in the wood that goes through to the outside as well. This old trunk has marks. Dings, gouges, nicks, paper loss, crazing, paper chips, leather chips and wear, cracks, missing handles, some of the black leather trim is missing or chipped, etc. even with all of ... morethese things that I have mentioned it is still an incredible antique trunk from the 1800's. The leather handles are gone and there isn't any key. The sad part is that while I was taking photos of the tin bottom, the trunk somehow locked itself and I don't have a key. I did check with the local Antique Mall and they had some that were close, but they didn't work. I'm so thankful that I took photos of the inside first! Antique Vintage Childs Doll Wooden Dome Top Trunk. Well Made and Sturdy.
This auction is for a fascinating antique vintage childs wooden doll dome top trunk. I believe it dates from the late 1800's or early 1900's. The trunk is well made and sturdy. It appears to have its original mouldings and hardware. The mouldings are similar to those on other furniture of the era. Bits and pieces of the original leather handles and hinges are still present. They need to be replaced in order to make it fully functional again. The dome is created by five separate pieces of wood that fit together in a tongue in groove configuration and are then nailed to the tops of both sides. Although the trunk is structurally sound. It shows obvious signs of wear and use. It appears that, at some point in its long life, parts of it were lightly sanded. There is no longer a key for the lock. 100 Year Old Antique Saratoga Petite Dome Top Doll Trunk
About Saratoga Trunks ~ Beautiful antique trunks belonging to the wealthy at the turn of the century. Aka Dome Top Trunks or Doll Trunks“The Saratoga trunk was named for the New York resort. Saratoga Springs. Everyone with any class at all spent some time there back in the 1870s. Most of the guests(there to take the waters) Were very wealthy and brought along the very largest, fanciest trunks made. Antique Doll Trunk w/ Treasures Inside Doll Frozen Charlotte Miniature Books Etc
14" long x 8" wide x 9" tall. It has paper losses. A gouge, one missing leather handle, stains, and none of it surprises me considering its age. It has the original tray and inside are a doll with a broken foot. Her clothes are very dirty. There is also a seated frozen charlotte doll, a shoe figurine, miniature books, and a miniature pitcher, and a doll head with a crack and piece missing. See pics for more details.

Antique Salesman Sample leather straps metal trim Steamer Trunk Doll Chest
this is a nice small antique doll trunk or salesman sample. I got with an antique bisque head baby doll. It feels like is made out of wood and the stuff atique trunks are made out of it has had the lock cut out and reattached the handle part there is a hole you can see from last pics. Looks like besides lock part has tipical wear from age I would consider in nice antique condition. Has nice leather straps some metal has dents. As is as shown no returns at this time no international sorry. Price reflects shipping tracking and insurance. Must receive payment within 3 days of auctions close.
