Here's a stunning and rare Art Deco 1930's nude lady metal statue standing on a geometric black bakelite& wood base from San Francisco estate. This wonderful deco lady could be the work of Nuart Creations or Frankart Inc. She looks stunning! This fabulous deco lady has a 1930's hairdo. She is standing on one leg with other leg bent up, both arms are away from her body, and she is attached to a painted wood base with a black vintage plastic top. She is made of some kind of heavy metal with a deco green painted finish- a magnet will not stick to her. The base is made of wood which has been painted with the same deco green color. There is a square of black Bakelite vintage plastic on top of the base, under the lady's foot. The overall measurement is 12-1/2" tall and 7-1/2" wide(hand to hand) The base measures 5-3/4" ... moreby 5-3/4" and the Bakelite plate measures 3-3/8" x 3-3/8" There are no signatures or manufacture marks that we could find, but she is quality. Here's a stunning Art Deco nude lady metal statue on geometric shaped metal base with tray from San Francisco Estate. This fabulous deco lady comes with a very cool Art Deco Evans table lighter. This wonderful deco piece is not signed. But could be the work of Nuart Creations or Frankart Inc. Circa 1930's. She is exquisite! This fabulous deco lady is in a sitting position with her legs to one side, and her arms are up with hands behind her head. She has a draped scarf on her lap, and she has excellent detail(see picture) This deco piece is made of some kind of heavy metal with a black and gold satin finish- a magnet will not stick to it. She is quite heavy, and weighs approx 6 lbs. Fashion and aesthetics is one of these ongoing cycles. Societies at one time glory in the splendor of the human form and at another. Conceal it. The art deco period was a rebellious period that. Culturally, was reactionary to the preceding Victorian era. The rebellion started in Europe after the great war. And after four years of the most horrid violence and suffering, sexuality and sensuality was placed in the forefront once again. This embrace appeared in the resurgence of figural sculptures and nudity. Clothing was more daring and society wanted to party. To rejoice in life. This figural lamp is an excellent example of this new ebullience. Here. A young woman adorns a lamp ... morebase with nothing but her grace and spirit and warms herself with the electric light that rests behind her. These type of sculptural lamps were being sold in France, often with elaborate marble bases and globes to cover the bulb. They were popularized in America by Frankart and many imitators that sprung up, literally overnight. In America. They were made of spelter and cast somewhat sloppily in the race to cash in on the new cycle of sensuality and celebration of the female form. The popularity of Frankart sculptures spawned Nuart and many more whose names are lost to history. This piece was clearly inspired by Frankart's sculptural lamps and dates to around 1925. Unlike many. This piece is richer in detail. The girl has clearly defined hair. Fingers and toes and even a hairbow! The original green enamel adorns it and it is an amazing survivor from this period. The market for Frankart pieces has always been in flux. Following the continuing cycle of fashion. It has also always been plagued by forgeries and fresh cast sculptures. Now. This antique Art Deco nude figural ashtray stand is made of a heavy cast aluminum alloy and finished in a stain black. The nude woman is cradling her arms. Which I assume is designed to hold a small ashtray. The back side of the rocky-shaped base is flat like a bookend, which this piece can be used for. There is a signature on the upper rear of the base, but I can't really make it out. It appears to read"R. Fanny" but I just can't be certain(last photo shows the signature) The piece measures 10 inches in height. Stunning Art Deco Ronson 1930's Modernistic Nude Lady Statue - Frankart Era
Here is a stunning and rare 13" tall Art Deco"Ronson" modernistic dancing nude lady metal sculpture or statue from San Francisco Estate. Made by Ronson aka Art Metal Works(AMW) Newark, N.J. Circa 1930's. She is truly exquisite! Pictures don't do her justice. This wonderful deco lady is standing on one foot with other leg in the air, she is leaning backwards, and her arms are stretched away from her body(one in front and other in back) She has a modernistic 930's curly swept-back hairdo, a pretty face, and it looks like she is laughing with mouth open and teeth showing. She has personality and a beautiful flowing deco style. This fabulous deco lady is made of some kind of metal with a copper bronze finish. She is standing on a small round disk that is attached to a copper bronze metal pedestal. The overall measurement ... moreis 13-1/2" tall, 9-1/2" wide(from the hand in back to the foot in air) and 3" deep. The base of the pedestal measures 3" x 3" There are no signatures or manufacture marks that we could find, but she is quality. we were told that she was marked with a paper label at one time, but it is gone. The condition is amazingly very good- shows wear, tarnish, and missing paint, and there are two flaws(one on end of toe and one on end of base- see pictures) Other than that, she is in great condition, especially since she is about 80 yrs old. There are no breaks, cracks, or repairs. There is black felt on the bottom to protect your furniture, and she is ready to display in your favorite place. Up for bids is this cool old nude figural smoker's stand. Looks like Art Deco era, appears to be bronze but I'm no metal expert, small repair leads me to believe it was expensive. Last photos show flaws that are only noticeable upon close inspection: small crack that appears to have been pro repaired( welded) chip in glass at bottom of stand, couple light scratches. No signatures that I could find but it is a stunning conversation piece& real attention grabber. Look at the photos& ask plenty of questions because item is being sold as is as shown! Art Deco 1920's "Gerdago" Dancing Lady Metal Statue w Celluloid - Frankart Era
Here is a stunning and vintage Art Deco Italy 1920's"Gerdago" style dancing lady metal statue with celluloid head and hands on marble base from San Francisco Estate. We were told that she came from Italy. Circa 1920's. She is truly exquisite! This wonderful deco lady has blondish colored hair blowing in the wind. Brown eyes, and pink lips. She is jumping in the air with both feet off the ground, both of her arms are up in the air, and her head is tilted back. She is made of some kind of metal with a golden bronze finish, her head is made of vintage celluloid plastic, and so are her hands. This beautiful lady is attached to a black& beige marble base with an indented tray. It could be used as a dresser tray, ashtray, etc. The overall measurement is 11" tall, 7" long, and 5" wide. There are no signatuares ... moreor manufacture marks that we could find, but she is quality. The condition is amazingly very good- shows wear and her hands are a little loose(which can be tightened) There are no chips, breaks, or repairs. The marble is also in very good condition- no chips, breaks, or repairs. The edges are beveled, and there is felt on the bottom(see picture) Overall, this fantastic deco lady is in very good condition, especially considering it is about 90 years old.
