On top of the branch there is a green glass ball containing the light bulb. It is probably of French origin and measures about 26cm in height. The base measures 14x11cm and the glass ball measures about 9.5cm in diameter. This is a very cute piece and would a wonderful accent lamp. The lamp shows wear typical of age and use. But as you can see was remarkable kept. It appears the socket has been changed over the years and I would switch with another and wiring should be checked. Original Art Deco Lamp With Marble Base Bronze Style Spelter Figure Man Skier
An original 1930s Art Deco lamp with a solid mable base and complete with a spelter figure of a man skier. The marble base measures 210mm long by 90mm wide 25mm thick and is an orangey pinky colour with a nice grain. The spelter figure of a man skier measures 90mm high(without the marble base) and 120mm long, he is wearing blue trousers and a brown jacket and is on a light green coulour base.The lamp is wired up but needs replacing as it is still the original old two core wire from the 1930s with a mottled brown on and off bakelite switch and an old bakelight two pin plug that looks european and may be from France, the bulb and globe holder are in good reuseable condition. Please feel free to ask questions! The statue of the lady on top is what I believe would be called spelter. She is entirely metal of a dark color which was painted. Or cast, in a silvery finish. The silver is not bright silver, more of a pewter in color. I know this to be the case because there are a few small scratches to this finish(see picture of her shoulder) which show a darker color under the silver finish. The only part of the dancer not silver is her face, which seems to be most likely of celluloid, with painted eyes and lips. There is a tiny dark spot on her nose which I think is from the mold they used on her face. There is no damage to the piece ... morebesides the small scratches in the finish, the worst are on her shoulder, again, please refer to the picture. She's really lovely, I think she is modeled after Marlene Dietrich. The metal figure is bolted onto a piece of white marble. The marble piece is shaped like a drum. The side of the drum is carved and the carving painted with gold to look even more like a drum. The marble is hallowed out and the light is mounted inside. I would suggest rewiring as I believe what is here is original, and probably not to UL standards. However, it seems to work just fine. I put in a new 4 watt night light bulb(included) and the glow of the light through the marble is lovely. The light is mounted with wire, and one of the two mountings is broken(see picture) but still seems very solid. The lamp cord has an Bakelite on/off switch so you don't have to plug and unplug it all the time. There are a few surface scratches on the marble, they may be actual scratches or just how the marble is, I'm not sure. A Lovely Vintage French Art Deco Marble Table Desk Lamp Light Spelter Figure This is a really lovely vintage French art deco table or desk lamp. Typical of the French art deco period. It has a marble base with cast metal/spelter? figures of two small birds. It has a patterned pink floral glass globe shade. It has a net weight of just over 2 kg before packaging. It takes a bayonet type light bulb which is not included in the sale. The base measures approximately 25cm x 9cm x 2cm The overall height is approximately 14cm Condition The glass shade is in good condition. Free from cracks and having no wear to the gilding and frosting. It does have a few minor surface marks which are only noticeable on close inspection. The spelter birds are in good condition having no damage and are securely fixed to the marble base. The marble base at some point ... morehas been broken at one end(just below the shade area) and it has been repaired very well. The crack blends in fairly well with the veining in the marble and is almost smooth to the touch. The underside of the marble has been recovered with some foil. This item is wired with 2 core cable and has a'Zeppelin' on/off switch located midway on the flex and has a French two pin plug. Pair Of French Art Deco Spelter Book-ends In The Form Of Horses On Marble Bases
This is a lovely pair of Art Deco spelter horses mounted on black marble(or similar) bases. Which I discovered recently at a flea-market in northern France. They display well as they are, but(in case you want a practical use for them) they were probably originally designed to be used as a pair of book-ends. There is a little gentle scratching to one of the bases and a very small chip to one corner of the same base. This hardly detracts, but I felt it worth mentioning, and otherwise, they are in very good pre-owned condition. Please note, that due to Royal Mail's pricing structure it will be cheaper to send the horses in 2 separate parcels(the price quoted is for both parcels)

Pair of French Art Deco Marble Spelter Bookends-Two Birds on a branch- GC
BEAUTIFUL PAIR OF FRENCH ART DECO BOOKENDS 1920'S TO 1930'S MARBLE BASE WITH TWO SPELTER BIRDS SITTING ON A BRANCH GOOD CONDITION These two bookends were produced in the 1920's and 1930's in France and consist of a marble base that measures 13cm in Length x 8 cm in Depth x 1.5 cm in Height. The base is in Good Condition with no breaks. Fractures or chips. Each of the bases have two birds sitting parallel to each other on the top of a branch and looking up in the air and these measure 10cm in height and the length is just under 11cm. In some places the spelter has worn away showing the beautiful bronze colour underneath and these are shown in the images, however there are no breaks, fractures or bending of these. However these are still a beautiful pair of bookends and can only enhance any room. Due to their weight. The postage ... moreis slightly higher. They have marble bases with spelter figures of antelopes or deer. The marble bases measure approximately 14cm x 8cm x 2cm or 5.5" x 3.25" x 0.75" The overall height is approximately 17cm or 6.75" Condition The marble bases are in very good condition free from cracks and chips. The paper on the underside of the base has some wear/rubbing. The spelter figures have surface marks which are signs of ageing. P+P I take great care with my packaging using bubble wrap. A Vintage French Art Deco Side Table Desk Lamp Marble Base Spelter Bird Seagull This is a superb French art deco desk lamp with a marble base and spelter figure of a gull. The marble base measures 25cm x 9cm x 2cm or 10" x 3.5" x 0.75" The overall height of the lamp is 25cm or 10" Condition The marble base is in very good condition just having a very small chip on the top of the left hand edge. T his chip is barely visible and I have tried to show it in the close up photo. The spelter figure is also in very good condition just having a small surface scratch on the right hand wing, again I have shown this in the close up photo. The glass shade is in very good condition having no chips or cracks and no wear to the gilded bands. There are some minor surface marks to the copper colour shade support. The paper on the underside ... moreof the marble base is almost intact. As you can see in the photos. I have shown this lamp working but as it comes with its original flex and two pin plug, I would advise you to have this lamp rewired to bring it up to the standards of your country of residence. It takes a single bayonet type light bulb which is included. P+P I take great care with my packaging using bubble wrap. Poly chips and strong boxes. FANTASTIC ANTIQUE ART DECO CHINESE YOUTH MARBLE AND SPELTER PAINTED BOOKEND
This is a great looking antique Art Deco bookend. The detail and construction on this piece is amazing. The youth is eating from a bowl with chopsticks and the detail of this is amazing. It is set on an exceptionally fine marble base too. There is a bit of paint loss from age and use but overall this piece is in very nice vintage condition and looks amazing.
