Here's an excerpt from the listing in the Chase Specialties Catalog for 1941: Duplex Jelly Dish in Polished Chromium 90062 This jelly dish has a two-compartment glass liner for two kinds of jelly: for example"green mint and red crabapple(cut a slice off the jellies so the straight edges touch at the center) It can also be used for nuts and candy. Or for olives and relishes. This polished chrome jelly dish has a white frosted glass insert contoured to fit snugly inside. The holder or basket has a horizontal grooved design around the middle of the dish. The fixed. Grooved handle has ball finials at each end and tapers to a curved tip at the base of the dish. The handle can be removed by turning the finials. The dish is about 5-1/2" across, and about 4-3/4" high at the top of the handle. The glass insert has no maker's mark. The holder has the Chase archer stamped on the underside. This jelly dish weighs about 1-1/4 pounds. Before boxing for shipment. It can be shipped by UPS Ground. Or by USPS Priority Mail. Please check the shipping tab for costs to your location. The metal holder has some tiny nicks at the rim. And to the handle edges. The sides have some scuffs and scratches, as does the bottom. The glass insert has no chips or cracks, no nicks. The outside of the glass does have scuffs, and light scratches. There are some discolored areas between the glass and the insert- please see photo. Chrome Bakelite Art Deco Moderne Streamline CHASE Minerva Vase Rare Machine Age
Up for bids is this very rare chrome and butterscotch bakelite Chase vase. Item reflects the popular art deco style of the day with the streamline design. Item is vintage. Dates to the 1930's. There are no dings that I can see anywhere, but there is some wear and spots on the chrome. The interior has discoloration from use and being filled with water. This is a nice addition to any art deco or CHASE collection. Item bears the centaur mark on the bottom. No cracks in the bakelite. I normally do not part with any of my art deco items, but I am selling off my collection to pay off some medical expenses. This is a scarce piece and they don't come up for auction too often. Measures 12 ½” in diameter by 7 ½” tall with a large black wood handle on each side. Shiny chrome. Glass inner dishes are stamped Pyrex. Machine Age Chase Brass TOM THUMB PLANT POTS TRI PLANT STAND Harry Laylon 1930s
An unsung genius of industrial design. Harry Laylon was employed by Chase from 1933-1940. Laylon is responsible for more Chase items than any other designer. Creating at least one-fifth of the entire specialty line. This vintage brass Tri Plant Stand with pots measures approximately 12" long. 5 3/4" high and 3 1/2" wide; each pot- 2 1/2"h x 3"d. The weight is over 2 lb. Very nice condition: all three pots have a tiny dents on the bottom. Please see the pictures for more details.
