The process of bringing a bronze sculpture to life using the lost-wax method is something you'll appreciate after taking this tour- Enjoy. Here Artist original clay sculpture is nearly ready for the foundry. Note the artist is still adding the finishing touches. Most sculptors prefer to work with clay or wax; some however. Do use wood and other mediums. Here the finished original clay is now complete. The sculptor will take it to the foundry now, get a bid then begin the first stages of the lost wax process. The first step can be shocking for some as they begin to decide how this original will be cut up. In order to prepare the original clay sculpture for molding. It will be dissected by cutting the clay with wire and by cutting the armature with a saw. The armature is what helped support the clay in place while the artist was creating it. Note the registration marks which later in the process will serve to realign the parts. Shown here are the sections of the original clay sculpture after having been dissected. Beautiful bronze sculpture depicting an Art Deco style Lady with two dogs. Entitled'Friends Forever' the bronze depicts a lady standing in a lovely flowing Art Deco style dress. To either side of her she is flanked by a dog. The bronze has an exquisite rich patina and is finished off on a solid polished marble base. This bronze was originally cast by Demetre Haralamb Chiparus, however despite bearing his signature this is not an original DH Chiparus piece but a later reimagining. If original this bronze would be worth in excess of £12.000, this is a very economical way of re creating a fantastic quality Art Deco look in your home for just a fraction of the price. It is a pleasure to be able to offer for sale such a wonderful item. Demetre Haralamb Chiparus(also known as Dumitru Chiparus; 16 September 1886. Dorohoi, Romania- 22 January 1947, Paris, France) was a Romanian Art Deco era sculptor who lived and worked in Paris. He was born in Romania. The son of Haralamb and Saveta. In 1909 he went to Italy, where he attended the classes of Italian sculptor Raffaello Romanelli. In 1912 he traveled to Paris to attend the Ecole des Beaux Arts to pursue his art at the classes of Antonin Mercie and Jean Boucher. Demetre Chiparus died in 1947 and was buried in Bagneux cemetery, just south of Paris. The first sculptures of Chiparus were created in the realistic style and were exhibited at the Salon of 1914. Most of his renowned works were made between 1914 and 1933. The first series of sculptures manufactured by Chiparus were the series of the children. Art Deco Lady Dancer Bronze in the style of DH CHIPARUS - 42cm High
Stunning quality bronze lady sculpture in the style of Art Deco. The bronze depicts a dancer mid pose balancing on one leg. This is a famous work originally cast circa 1920 by DH Chiparus. However this is not an original of his work but is a later reimagining. This beautiful bronze has been heavily influenced by the Russian ballet and theatre upon which DH Chiparus based many of his sculptures. His appreciation of the feminine form and extravagant creations helped define the Art Deco period and his works. Both original& reproduction are even more in demand now than ever before.
