It has 1 primary point of articulation being the shade assembly mount which can tilt from side to side reflecting light. CONDITION: Overall the lamp is in outstanding condition. There are faint signs of use with no dings. Dents or scratches. The lamp parts are all high polished Chrome or Copper finished Brass, which shows light surface wear and faint tarnish. HERE’S A RARE PAIR OF ORIGINAL VINTAGE LATE 1930S OR 1940S“MINI” BRASS ART DECO/ MACHINE AGE CANDLESTICKS PRODUCED YSTAD METALL OF SWEDEN! Measuring only two inches(2” in height. Two and a half inches(2 1/2” across the top at its widest point, and two and three eighths inches(2 3/8” inches in diameter across the base, these rare original vintage Ystad Metall“mini” candleholders are made from two(2) pieces a heavy gauge brass, a top form that was hand-soldered to a round base. To this end. These candleholders reference the much larger version of“Lily” candlesticks designed Ivar Alenius-Bjork. And while each of these modern brass candlesticks is marked“Ystad-Metall Made In Sweden, they lack the initials of their designer to make a concrete attribution. As many collectors know by now. Ystad Metall had a display of their modernist brass and other ... moremetalwork at the 1939 New York World’s Fair. Three and seven eighths inches(3 7/8” in width at its widest point, and four and a quarter inches(4 ¼” in depth, this original vintage modernist 1930s or 1940s wall sconce-candleholder is shaped like the flame of a candle with a smaller secondary flame extending from the bottom outward to hold the bobeche. This smaller secondary brass flame is attached to the larger flame by a small round brass ball, all of which is held together by two small brass screws that can be seen from the backside. Vintage Art Deco Skyscraper Vase Set Patina Modern Machine Age Brass Antique 12"
Simple. Striking modern set of vases have no markings but look very much like pieces made in the 1930's from Sweden. Please view photos to determine for yourself, as I am not an expert. The vases are very sturdy, well made, quite heavy and have patina, tarnish, wear and overall age. Magnet does not stick to any surface on the vase(except the steel bolt on the underside) which leads me to think these may be solid brass, but I can't be certain. For bid is a great old super sturdy Art Deco styled pair of shelf brackets. Nickel over brass. Wall side is 20” tall and under-shelf side is 18” with two nibs on top to hold shelf in place. Wall side has 5 mounting holes on each to use in mounting to the wall. Great patterns and lines in the ultimate deco styling. This original vintage Ystad Metall ashtray/ dish/ bowl is made from a very solid, thick, and heavy brass that still retains an old original patina/ finish. The bowl’s interior displays a sculptural relief design of a rearing horse with flowing mane and tail and he located in a tilled pasture surrounded by trees and grass. The overall design is sculpted to provide a sense of movement with an almost storm-like volatility. Bottom diffuser section measures 18 ½” in diameter by 3 ½” tall. The stem and ceiling canopy section measures 25” long. Distinctive chrome band surrounds the base with alternating bands of polished or brushed chrome. Brass vertical posts accent the chrome and add support. Thin painted metal circular slats provide the diffuser element to this fixture. Stem connects in 3 spots to hold the bottom diffuser shade. Appears complete with the exception of an outer nut to hold up ceiling canopy. The old wiring is still intact but I would suggest re-wiring for safe future use. Comes with pull chord. PAIR OF RARE LEROY C. DOANE MACHINE AGE ART DECO BRASS TABLE LAMPS. PATENTED AUGUST 11, 1931; the double-pagoda shaped shade surmounted by a frosted orange glass finial and over a double tiered shaft resting on a stepped round base. Designed to throw light from under the top shade over the bottom shade and with a lighted finial. Professionally rewired throughout in 2012 by current owner. Each 12” high. This was an early one of many Machine Age lamps that threw a diffused light reflecting off of the underside of the shade.It was almost always misattributed to Walter Von Nessen as both men worked for the Edward Miller Company at this time. Also falsely attributed to K.E.M. Weber. L.C. Doane was a prolific inventor who originally worked for General Electric before WW1. Designing mostly lighting components but also other items over a long career.
