Most of the rare original opalescent paint is intact. The light socket is bent. But works perfectly– not at all noticeable with the beautiful shade on. I can see no cracks chips or repairs. The gorgeous acorn style bakelite plug seems original. The lamp and plug date to the 1920s– 40s. The expensive shade is new. And in excellent condition. Nuart NYC was Frankart’s main competitor. For auction is another great example of a Nuart nude ashtray. The ashtray should read Design Patent Pending Gift House NYC. Which was the parent of Nuart Company and a competitor to Frankart. The signature is there but it is faint. This comes beautifully refinished in a Frankart gunmetal gray color. There is no damage to the piece. Art Deco PAIR Verdigris Frankart Nuart Bronzeart Everlite Era Rooster Bookends I just purchased this PAIR of vintage Art Deco Rooster bookends from a local estate here in Central Virginia. The bookends are characteristic of the designs produced by a number of American foundries during the late 1920's/ early 1930's(Nuart/ Frankart/ Bronzeart/ McClelland Barclay/ Everlite) The pieces are well cast with crisp detail to the Rooster's stylized features and nice weight to the white metal ground. The bookends have a handsome verdigris finish with rich bronze ground retaining its original matte green patina. The roosters measure 7 3/8" high. 5 ½" long and 3 ½" deep. The bases are embossed with an octagonal crest/ maker's mark which I can't make out. Both bookends are in very good condition with some scattered ... morefinish wear, most notably on back of one tail and at the foot edges. The juncture at the tail/ base has a production line on each piece(pictured) The bases had a newer green felt pad which was coming off, I've pictured without so you can see the interior, but will be happy to replace before sending. Here is a stunning and vintage Art Deco Nuart modernistic nude lady w tray metal statue or ashtray from San Francisco Estate. She can be used as an cigarette ashtray. Ring holder, jewelry display, change holder, or as a flower frog center piece. She has many uses, and she is exquisite! We were told that this deco piece was made by Nuart Creations, New York City, N.Y. Circa 1930's. This wonderful deco lady has a 1930's curly swept-back hairdo, she is standing on a round base with upper part of her bady slightly leaning back, and she is looking down at the tray in front of her. She has a wonderful deco style with stair-stepped base and swirl design. The overall measurement is 9" tall, 5" long, and 4-1/4" wide. She is made out of some kind of metal with a black satin finish. There are no signatures or manufacture marks ... morethat we could find, but she is quality. There is a similar one listed on ebay#131215459626 which shows a value as $445.00. The condition is amazingly very good- there's a stress crack on the base from age(see picture) but no chips, breaks, or repairs. She has been re-painted, and she looks stunning. The estimated value was $395.00, according to the estate. Our reserve is only $125.00. This fabulous deco lady came from an estate in San Francisco, and is vintage. Frankart Era Nuart Art Deco Lamp w/Nude Ladies & Amber Crackle Skyscraper Shade
I will combine shipping on multiple purchases whenever possible. This beautiful Period Art Deco Lamp is signed Nuart. And features two nude women facing outward, and leaning back on bended knees, with a fabulous skyscraper type amber crackle shade between them. The lamp measures 12-1/4 inches long, 4-1/4 inches wide, and is approximately 7-1/2 inches tall to the peak of the shade. There are some small minor nicks in the bronze patina finish. There is a faint hairline in the base(pictured) The shade is in excellent condition. The lamp is wired with old wiring and still has its original silk cord. I did not light it because the cord is fraying and is not safe. If you plan on lighting it, you must rewire it. Please see the photos for a more accurate description of the condition. This is an extremely RARE- ANTIQUE- OLD- VINTAGE 1920'S- ART DECO PERIOD- FRANKART ERA- NUART LAMP. It is as shown and is an original 1920's lamp that features a NUDE NYMPH- NUDE LADY- NUDE GIRL- sitting on a pedestal and gazing at a GLASS GLOBE- ORB that lights up. The SPELTER(fragile white metal) base is 8" X 5" the NYMPH is 6 5/8" high off the ground- and the GLOBE is 4 3/4" in diameter. I cannot find any markings. But I am sure that it was made by NUART CREATIONS- NEW YORK CITY. The finish consists of a BRONZE TONE PAINT and is age checked and is peeling in may spots- there is a lot of paint loss! The metal base is age cracked as shown, which is common for this type of old metal. The glass globe is darkened with age on the inside, and there is some reverse crackle paint on the inside that is cracked and peeling. ... moreThe cord plug has been cut off, and I would recommend replacing the entire electrical system for safety! U.S.A. This Native American Indian* Alien- like woman does have a couple of arm issues. But nothing that detracts from her beauty or rarity. Her right wrist has a hole in metal, and left wrist is split through. Not bad for 90+ years old. This 1920s* 1930s era Nuart brass? bronze tobacciana piece was found with a nearly 6" long copper? sword shaped letter opener? or tobacco tool so it's being sold with this nude woman as well. This sculpture is 8-1/4" at her tallest and the tiered base is 8-7/8" across ... moreand nearly 5-1/2" deep. Base is covered with what appears to be the original deep grayish blue cotton blend pad with moth bites and evidence of age. No glass dish or bowl was found with this smokers temptress.
