For your consideration is a vintage art deco lamp with green art glass globe and three lovebirds and/or parakeet birds sitting on some books. This is a very cute piece and would a wonderful accent lamp. The lamp shows wear typical of age and use. But as you can see was remarkable kept. It appears the socket has been changed over the years and I would switch with another and wiring should be checked. Stylish Antique French Art Deco Bronze Dear and Marble Table Lamp, 1920s-30s
Here on offer is a stylish antique French art deco bronze dear and marble table lamp. Dating to the 1920s to 1930s. This gorgeous table lamp was purchased many years ago in a Parisian antique market. The marble base is a beautiful soft pink colour. The dear is beautifully modelled in bronze with a strong dynamic quality that is typical of the art deco period. Sadly the antlers are damaged and there is an area of damage on the deers side. Please see the photos. It stands securely on the base. The lamp and shade support are almost certainly the original. But the cable is a later replacement and is wired for use in France, the plug fitting is continental. I would strongly recommend that an electrician inspects the light before use. Wonderfully Art Deco, The figures on it are a lovely Art Deco lady and two doves. in wonderful undamaged condition(she even has all her fingers, very unusual) It has two side pieces that are wonderfully Art Deco in style. The marble is in lovely condition for something almost 100 years old. The clock has a lovely original glass and an undamaged face with super deco numerals. The movement is an 8 day one(commonly known as Paris movements) and the clock chimes each hour and each half hour on a little bronze bell. It is working fine and keeps good time(not up to quartz accuracy! But within a minute or two per week) It has been working without any problems, 100% reliable, in my house for over two years now. Art Deco heavy marble mantle clock French circa 1920.. working keeps good time
We are once again about to return from our house in France. And have decided to clear out some French antiques that we are not using. so I am putting some on eBay I am at present in France and the items are here. I will return on 15th March. But will be able to bring things with me to post in the UK. thus reducing your postage costs considerably This auction is for a lovely Art Deco Mantle Clock in very heavy lovely varigated marbles and other stone. The polished marble is in super undamaged condition and is VERY HEAVY. Please note the clock case. The face, are all original period items, circa 1920. After this. It gets a bit"different" The movement has been replaced with a modern quartz one. so it never needs winding or servicing and always shows the time very accurately. It takes a single AA battery that lasts for several years. ... morethe one in it has been there for 3 years and is still OK. These movements can run for 5 to 8 years on one battery. This would be a great clock for someone who wants the weight and quality of an original 1920's Art Deco item. But is nervous of wind up clocks, with all the worries about it stopping or needing servicing. The other thing I need to mention is that the lady on the top is a replacement. It is securely fastened however and looks the part 100% In reality 99.9% of people would never notice the"modifications" and it has sat on my mantlepiece for 3 years and no-one has ever noticed it is not a wind up clock. I offer it here. As it would create a"space" for one of my much loved wind up pendulum clocks. Actually the one I have here on eBay with the Lady and doves is the one I want to put there(so I am hoping in a way, that it does not sell. A lovely set of Art Deco bookends in an excellent condtion. The peacocks are sculpted in fine detail in a quality bronze which has a beautiful patina due to its age. The base measures 12 x 8 x 2cms and is 17cms high to the tip of the peacock's tail. The base is of soft pink and grey marble.the pink is not as bright as it seems in some of my photos. I was trying to highlight the detail on the tail feathers. A Lovely Vintage French Art Deco Marble Table Desk Lamp Light Spelter Figure This is a really lovely vintage French art deco table or desk lamp. Typical of the French art deco period. It has a marble base with cast metal/spelter? figures of two small birds. It has a patterned pink floral glass globe shade. It has a net weight of just over 2 kg before packaging. It takes a bayonet type light bulb which is not included in the sale. The base measures approximately 25cm x 9cm x 2cm The overall height is approximately 14cm Condition The glass shade is in good condition. Free from cracks and having no wear to the gilding and frosting. It does have a few minor surface marks which are only noticeable on close inspection. The spelter birds are in good condition having no damage and are securely fixed to the marble base. The marble base at some point ... morehas been broken at one end(just below the shade area) and it has been repaired very well. The crack blends in fairly well with the veining in the marble and is almost smooth to the touch. The underside of the marble has been recovered with some foil. This item is wired with 2 core cable and has a'Zeppelin' on/off switch located midway on the flex and has a French two pin plug. As you can see it is in working order but I would advise you to have it checked before use. I take great care with my packaging using bubble wrap. Poly chips and strong boxes. This one is wonderfully Art Deco. The movement is by Marti. The marble is in lovely condition for something almost 100 years. The clock has just been refurbished. Value of refurb is £60, so this is a real bargain. The clock has a lovely undamaged face. With very Deco numerals. SIZES: 28cn high. 43cm wide. 11cm deep. The face is 12cm diameter The movement is an 8 day one(commonly known as Paris movements) and the clock chimes each hour and each half hour on a little bronze bell. It has a marble base with 2 cast metal/spelter figures of squirrels. It has a crazed patterned white glass globe shade. It has a net weight of just under 3 kg before packaging. It takes a bayonet type light bulb which is not included in the sale. The base of this lamp measures approximately 40cm x 10cm x 2cm The overall height is approximately 13cm Condition The glass shade is in good condition. Having a few tiny nibbles around the base which are not seen once the shade is in place. It also has a few dark specks in the grooves of the pattern, these could possibly clean away with a gentle scrub. The squirrels are in good condition having no damage and ... moreare securely fixed to the marble base. The marble base has a small chip at one end which I have shown in the photos. It is hardly noticeable as it blends in fairly well with the pattern in the marble. Most of the paper on the underside of the base has been removed at some point quite possibly to re-tighten the figures as they can become loose over time. I have just reduced this. For this weekend only. This auction is for a lovely French Art Deco lamp with a swan. In cast metal, on a polished marble base. A genuine period item, with a lovely glass globe. It is working and takes a standard bayonet bulb base. We use these all around the house both here in France and in the UK. They work well with low energy bulbs. We just have too many of these. Having downsized in the UK from a five bedroom converted chapel to a small two bedroom modern house It still has a French plug on it and will need a UK type fitting when your electrician checks it out. A Rare French Art Deco 'Moonlit Aeroplane' Lamp on Marble, c.1935
A Rare French Art Deco'Moonlit Aeroplane' Globe Lamp on it's original Geometric Marble Stand. Cast in cold-painted spelter, circa 1935-40. This paticular lamp is cast in cold-painted pearlescant-gilt spelter to the aeroplane. That is mounted on a specimen black& brown striated marble-globe, all bolted to the mottled brown marble base. It depicts a stylised 1930's passenger plane flying over a globe, silhouetted against a large moon-like opaque milk-glass shade. This theme is very reminiscent of the many travel posters designed during the 1930's, showing the style and glamour of trans-Atlantic flying, where film stars would fly over-night from America to Europe and step off such planes to greet their fans. The plane is screw-bolted to the polished marble globe& base. With the lamp wiring running into this base, ... moreexiting to the rear of the socle, all neat and tidy in design. The lamp itself takes a standard-fitting bayonet bulb, which works fine and has at some time been re-wired, with a more modern bulb holder. But as with all old electrical items, it should be tested and checked by a qualified electrician before prolonged use. The opaque glass shade is free from any cracks or damage, and is held by the original spring clasp holder on the brass gallery, and diffuses the light beautifully, looking like the moon when alight. This stylish original period lamp is an impressive 150mm's tall. By 275mm's long& 200mm's deep, and is very weighty due to the stone base. Pair Of French Art Deco Spelter Book-ends In The Form Of Horses On Marble Bases
This is a lovely pair of Art Deco spelter horses mounted on black marble(or similar) bases. Which I discovered recently at a flea-market in northern France. They display well as they are, but(in case you want a practical use for them) they were probably originally designed to be used as a pair of book-ends. There is a little gentle scratching to one of the bases and a very small chip to one corner of the same base. This hardly detracts, but I felt it worth mentioning, and otherwise, they are in very good pre-owned condition. Please note, that due to Royal Mail's pricing structure it will be cheaper to send the horses in 2 separate parcels(the price quoted is for both parcels)

A Rare Large French Art Deco 'Madame de Libellule' Lamp on Marble c.1930
A Very Rare Large French Art Deco'Madame de Libellule' or'The Dragonfly Lady' Lamp. Cast in cold-painted spelter and attributed to Molins Ballestte, all mounted on an impressive tiered Rouge-Marble Striated-Base, created circa 1930. This period lamp. Is cast in cold-painted spelter with various hues of silvers. Golds and dark browns to the figure, and similar colours to the brass dragonfly firmly-attached to the glass-globe shade beside her. This impressively large French Art Deco sculptural lamp. Depicts a lady reclining on the rouge-marble base barefoot, wearing a classical diaphonous-like dress, almost as a second skin, as she carefully reaches out to catch the delicate dragonfly that has landed on the sun like glass globe beside her. All is in amazing condition for the pieces age. With no loss to the cold-painted finish ... moreand the Madame has one of the most beautiful faces I have ever come across from years of collecting Art Deco pieces. Completed with an elegance to her overall sculpting to match, pure Art Deco in poise and styling. The lamp itself takes a standard-fitting bayonet bulb, which works fine and has at some time been re-wired. But as with all old electrical items, it should be tested and checked by a qualified electrician before prolonged use. The unique coloured glass-shade is free from any cracks or chips and diffuses the light beautifully, and sits in a recess in the marble base, looking like the sun rising when alight. The separately cast dragonfly is attached to the molding of this glass shade solidly and glimmers when alight! This very large& stylish period lamp. Weighing about 7kg's, is an impressive 480mm's long by 170mm's deep and 270mm's tall, and very weighty with the marble base.
