1930s French Art Deco Chintz Part Tea Service Tea for 2 You are looking at a good French art deco tea service for two from around the 1930s. The chintz pattern is English in style but the strong art deco lines make me think it is a French service à l'anglaise. It comprises a teapot. Creamer, covered sugar bowl, two cups and saucers. It is decorated with a chintz floral pattern against plain cream with painted bands of mustard. The inside of the cups are all-chintz. There's no backstamp. Just some maker's numbers on the base of one or two pieces. Measurements: The teapot measures approx 8-1/4 inches wide x 5 inches high. The cups are 4-1/2 inches wide and 1-1/4 inches high. It shows a certain structure as it would have been made out of many mosaic, together glued glass elements. The center bowl is adorned with an strictly geometrical airbrush pattern. The stepped-shape canopy and the fixture are still original and made out of chrome-plated metal. Art Deco French Lidded Glass Container Here is an appealing. Vintage, French lidded container straight out of the art deco period, and measuring 3¼” tall with lid. And 4½” by 3⅛” wide on top. It was used for serving or for presentation purposes. This superb piece is comprised of a heavy pressed glass container featuring angular decorative ribbing. And a lid. Made of tin, with a lovely golden patina on the outside. The lid’s knob is colored in ivory finish and decorated by golden side scrolls also edged in tin. Superb Vintage French 1930s ART DECO SET w/ MIRRORED TRAY and GLASS CONTAINER
Art Deco French Lidded Glass Container and Mirrored Tray Here is a fantastic. Vintage, French ensemble straight out of the 1930s art deco period. It is comprised of a heavy pressed glass container with a wooden lid. And a small matching mirrored tray with an arched handle. Which is rather unusual for pieces like this. This ensemble was used for serving or presentation purposes(notably as a candy or cookie jar) The glass container features angular decorative ribbing. It measures 3¼” tall(excluding lid) And just over 6” by 4” wide. This beautiful piece is in excellent condition despite a chip along the bottom edge of the glass(which is impossible to see when the container is standing on the tray) Note as well that the wooden lid is the same color as the side handles of the tray. But it does not have the same varnished finish. The tray ... morehas a tin frame and upper handle with a lovely aged golden patina. The edges of the wooden side handles are finished by decorative tin scrolls. The tray measures 8¼” by 5” With the mirrored portion designed to accommodate the glass container perfectly(as a comparison. The porcelain figurine pictured on the photos is slightly taller than a can of soft drink) This tray remains in fantastic vintage condition despite its many years. They have marble bases with spelter figures of antelopes or deer. The marble bases measure approximately 14cm x 8cm x 2cm or 5.5" x 3.25" x 0.75" The overall height is approximately 17cm or 6.75" Condition The marble bases are in very good condition free from cracks and chips. The paper on the underside of the base has some wear/rubbing. The spelter figures have surface marks which are signs of ageing. P+P I take great care with my packaging using bubble wrap.
