Here's a Great Pair of Antique 1930's Art Deco Wood Bookends With Highly Stylized Nude Ladies. Offered at NO RESERVE! The bookends have thick silhouettes of nude ladies leaning backward and retain the original red, black and white paint. These were likely made from plans or in a woodworking shop or class. I think the original paint is great with the red in particular having a heavily mottled appearance. They used to have felt on the bases and the ends that would meet the books, but most of that is gone; also there are various chips and other wear to the paint, none of which I think are too distracting. This is a pair of original vintage art deco crinoline lady bookends. The bases are made of marble and the ladies are made of ceramic porcelain. They have been beautifully hand painted. They measure 5 inches in height. 3 inches in width and 3 1/4 inches in depth. One has a hairline crack on her dress and the other one has a repaired break at her waist. Here is a stunning vintage pair(2) of Art Deco 1930's Lady Heads Metal Bookends from San Francisco Estate. They are exquisiste! These wonderful deco ladies have a 1930's hairdo and pretty features. The detail is excellent and they are very striking. The overall measurement is 5-3/4" tall. 4-1/4" wide, and 3" deep. They are made of some kind of metal with a bronze finish- a magnet will not stick to them. There are no signatures or manufacture marks that we could find, but they are quality. The condition is amazingly very good- shows wear and missing finish but no chips, breaks, cracks, or repairs. The estimated value was $250.00 according to the estate. These wonderful dancing ladies have 1920's flapper hairdos with hairband, pretty faces, and sexy flapper dresses. They are posing, standing with legs slightly crossed, and they are holding out their flowing ruffled skirts to their sides. These beautiful deco ladies are barefoot, the detail is excellent, and are standing on a deco designed base. The overall measurement is 7" tall, 5" wide, and 4" deep. A Pair of 1920's Art Deco Flapper Ladies Bookends in Flapper Dresses with headbands and bare feet. They are quite heavy being made of metal. Possibly spelter we believe, a white metal, weighing almost 4 pounds each. Each one is Signed on the back with the number 500 and measure about 7" tall by 5" wide by 4" deep. They look to have their Original gold paint. With some loss from scuffs/scrapes and wear from age which we believe adds to their Vintage charm! There looks to be no breaks in the metal work, a few nicks in the edges here and there and their noses are a wee bit flattened, probably where they have been knocked over on them we assume. You are bidding on a pair of Art Deco Lady head bookends. Which came from an estate with many other items from the 1930s. They stand about 6 inches tall and do appears to have some age to them. These are in fair condition only as they do have some paint loss and minor chips. They may be made of plaster as the material exposed by the small chips is white. See the photos blown up for the best idea of where some of these flakes and chips are, but neither of these is cracked or reglued although some of the chip areas have been retouched by previous owners. They are unmarked making it difficult to ID the maker although there is some unintelligible writing on the bases. These are rather heavy so they will ship in a flat rate priority mail box.
