The frame measures 7" X 9" with the image size 4 1/2" X 6 1/2" The front of the frame is in great shape. But the easel is broken and it looks as if there is some water damage to the cardboard back. Up for SALE WITH A BUY IT NOW is: An outstanding Antique Reverse Painted Art Deco frame with an old paper picture of Cary Grant inside. No signs of household use with a photo& backing unopened. This frame still has the partial& peeled Manufacturers label on the front. Because this is peeled you can not read it(see close-up)but those of you who collect these vintage frames. May recognize the shape of the Company label. Unopened backing& easel looks like new. I was going to check inside. But it is so tight and obviously never opened I am leaving as found. You can see the edge of the picture of Cary Grant at an angle& I can see it is not a photo. But a paper picture that the company used when they distributed the frame back in the day, like they used to do with wallets) It measures 11" x 13 to the outside edges. Inside photo ... morearea is 8" x 10" note unusual deco cresent shape. To two corners, which will not make this entirely square with a photo inside) It has the more desirable metal corners(rather than paper) and shows minor wear in storage. Condition: You will see some age oxidation/dots to the metal corners. Although unused with photos.the family stored this lovely frame unwrapped in a box with other frames and hence 3 scratches to the exterior glass& the usual minor teeny nicks or specks of paint loss to the very edges.please see close-ups of edges for examples. I show all this in the close-ups for your review(the most prominent 1 with arrow and the very light(tilt to see) scratches are on his face around the right eye that my camera barely captured. Overall a beauty. With a very attractive& desirable Deco pattern as shown. Art Deco Vintage Set Of 2 Reverse Painted Glass Picture Frames Black & Silver
Very nice pair of authentic 1920's Art Deco Period reverse painted glass picture frames. Both frames have the same measurements. 5" X 7" and are in the same colors, black and silver, both with Geometric designs but with slight variations to each design. Both frames have silver metal corners and easel back to enable the picture frame to be free standing. The backs on both frames are in good condition and stand well. One of the two has some water spots but they do not affect the front of the frame. The front of both frames is in very good vintage condition. We cannot see any of the black border paint missing. And the silver lines and shapes on both frames also look good. We can only see just two small spots on both frames on the bottom horizontal line which creates the frame for the picture, where the silver color is lost. Also, ... morethe silver metal corners show discoloration from age. We don't know if they can clean if taken off but we left the frames in their as found condition. Also keep in mind that the glass would also have to be cleaned especially in the corners. The frames are offered in their as found condition. This auction is for an outstanding vintage art deco era reverse painted silhouette of a flute player in front of a pond. The background is gold with rose and blue highlights. The frame is original to the piece and has been stained or painted a green color with gilt edges. There is the expected minor wear to the frame due to age. The silhouette is in great condition. The little white spot in the upper left is sticker residue that will come off. Any other light spots are caused by the lighting. FANTASTIC MODERNIST MID CENTURY ART DECO BAUHAUS REVERSE PAINTED SERVING TRAY
This is a large art deco modernist tray. Measuring 20" by 13" Great combination of lines, color, circles. The colors are off-white, black, silver and blood red. The black design/swirls you see inside the red is original, part of the design. The tray remains solid and study. Although there is some reverse paint that has aged and fallen off, the paint is not loose, that is, you cannot shake it and cause more paint to fall off. Just an absurdly beautiful Bauhaus style piece. The ends are painted and remain original, no touch ups. The sides are chrome. The bottles and opener are for display only. This is a wonderful vintage Art Deco jewelry or trinkets box with a reverse painted on glass lady silhouette. It probably dates 1920s or 1930s. It measures 7 3/8 inches x 5 3/8 inches(18.73 cm x 13.65 cm) It is 2 3/8 inches tall(6.03 cm) There is a mirror inside the lid which is original to the piece. It has some silvering loss around the edges and fog in the center. The box has worn areas all around(please see photos) But it's overall look is just great. The finish is all original, with no restorations. There is also wear to the interior. But nothing unexpected. The silhouette itself is great looking Art Deco with no wear to it. Vintage Art Deco Aladdin Gooseneck Lamp #50 w/ replaced Reverse Painted Shade
This Aladdin gooseneck lamp is not all original such as the cord and socket and probably the shade which is vintage but looks like it was meant for an oil lantern and was inserted into its holder upside down since the original bottom was too large(it is a little rough on the inside rim) and the upper part of the shade was used instead since it was smaller and was a decent fit. The base and gooseneck are in excellent condition although starting to lose a little finish. Under the base it is marked Aladdin Mfg. Co. Muncie Ind. No 50 and shows a little bit of rust which can easily be cleaned. If extended fully it measures 21" tall and the base is about 7.5" by 5.5" with a 5' cord. There is a 25W bulb in the socket and the lamp works fine. See scans of items to make your own grading determination. Has a plate glass surface with back reverse painted design of two young children dressed as an 18th century lady and gentleman, posing amongst tulips beside a river which runs under a bridge and through an old town behind the children with timber framed buildings. The scene has a vivid blue foil backing imitating butterfly wings. It has Art Deco nickle plated gallery edge and original ply wood backing and is applied to the ends with black finished steel loop handles. The frame is reverse painted in black with a metallic(brass plated? acce nt on all four corners. The picture frame is self standing with an easel design on the back and overall it measures about 5" by 4" The picture opening is approx 4" by 3" Triangular clasps with bars hold the glass to the easel and there is one rotating metal clip on the back that secures the back to the picture. The black and white pictures was added and comes with the frame. Item Condition: The overall condition of the frame is very good to excellent vintage condition. It is very clean and there are no chips. Cracks, ... moreor broken areas. The glass looks really good with good clarity and no scratches or wear to the reverse painting that I see other than on the metallic edges. The easel stand functions but it needs a little help- I would recommend a piece of cardboard from the frame to and through the hole on the easel to help support it- a small dowel would work as well- or could be displayed on a small metal or wooden easel. The metal components have a nice standard aged patina on them. But no corrosion or rust. It is a really nice accent frame for your Art Deco collection. One 9x7 reverse painted glass frame with 5x7 photo of Jean Harlow. The frame l ooks all original. With some wear the the black paint. The reverse painting is in cream, black and gold embellishments. The viewable image area in the center is 4&1/8 x 6&1/8" The photo of Jean Harlow in a white satin dress is an 5x7, which I believe was cut from an 8x10. This particular image was a publicity photo for the movie, Bombshell" which was taken in 1932. The glossy photo only has the paper manufacturer on the back- it says A KODAK PAPER in diagonal lines all across. The corners are a bit loose, but they stay on, and this is easily remedied if you feel it is necessary. The photographer was George Hurrell. One 9x11 reverse painted glass frame with 6&7/8 x 8&7/8 photo of Jean Harlow in the bathtub. The frame looks all original with some wear to the black paint. RARE Art Deco Reverse Painted Ribbed Glass Ship/Nautical Scene Hanging Lamp!
This auction is for a truly awesome vintage art deco era reverse painted ribbed glass hanging lamp with nautical scenes. The colors are incredible! The metal has a gold tone or burnished copper paint and was painted originally. There hanging metal"tassels" at the top under the rim and another"tassel" hanging from the bottom of the lamp The panels are not chipped or broken anywhere. But there are little flakes in the paint from years of use as is common with reverse painted items. Nothing serious, but wanted to mention for accuracy. There is one panel which is have photographed, picture 5, where there is a darker spot on the picture-whether from darkening of the paint or the original paint, I don't know. Please be sure to enlarge all the photos to get a good look at this incredible Art Deco hanging lamp. It would need ... moresome wiring, but does have the original ceiling cap. The lamp is about 16" from the top of the lamp itself to the bottom of the"tassel" Each of the six painted panels is about 8 3/4" from top to bottom and about 3 1/2" wide at the widest point including the metal"frame" around each panel. ANTIQUE VTG ART DECO c1930s SET 4 REVERSE PAINTED GLASS PICTURE FRAMES FILMSTARS
This is quite special. Here are 4 x reverse painted pictures frames dating back to the 1930s. They have been in storage for many years hence the tarnish around the edge of frames. All are reverse painted. Actors include a very young Frank Sinatra in MGM Pictures. Alice Faye from 20th Century Fox, Olivia De Havilland from Warner Bros and another very young Henry Fonda from Paramount. There are no chips in the glass and the reverse paints are all good. Each frame has a stand on the back and measures 12 inches x 10 inches. This is a great find- mainly for the frames but also for the pictures.

Gorgeous Original ART DECO Antique 1920s Picture Frame for 8x10 Reverse Painted
This is an original 1920s picture frame done in perfect streamlined Art Deco style. What a great example of the time period. It holds an 8x10 picture. It's reverse painted in black. Gold, and mirrored silver. It was hard to get a good photo of this frame because the light kept reflecting off of the silver. But it's in very nice condition for being about 90 years old. There are no cracks in the glass, the back is in nice shape and it will still stand by itself on a table top. There is slight rubbing on the paint(see close up pics) Also, this frame is supposed to have pegs in four corners, but is missing two pegs(see last photo) Feel free to contact me with any questions. MONUMENTAL ART DECO REVERSE PAINTED PITTSBURGH ? LIGHT or LAMP SHADE
Offered here is a monumental Art Deco reverse painted frosted glass light or lamp shade. I have been told that this may be Pittsburgh glass. This is a very. Very large piece of glass. The diameter of the lower edge is 16" The diameter of the outside fitter is 10" and the opening diameter is 8 1/2" The drop from the top of the fitter to the lower edge is 10 1/4" The condition of the reverse painting is excellent. The condition of the frosted glass shade is perfect, except for 2 very, very small(1/4" and less) chips on the inside fitter rim. Please see photos. There are no chips on the lower ground glass rim edge. There are no breaks or scratches on the shade. The shade is dusty from storage. I will leave the cleaning of this huge shade to the next owner. Up for auction is a beautiful antique vintage art deco pink reverse painted powder jar box with a sailboat. It is very charming and in good condition for it's age. The paint is chipping and missing in some spots on the inside of the jar and lid. No chips except for a small one on the top of the sailboat. There is an art deco design that circles the jar and the lid has ripples on it to represent water. It would make a great addition to any art deco collector. This auction is for set of 3 vintage antique art deco reverse painted glass picture frames. Frames are 5" x4"and the viewing area is 2" x 3" I'm guessing 1930s or 40s. The frames are not complete. They're missing the corner pieces or wrap around frame. One is missing the last piece of cardboard with the hook on it. Very easy to complete. Not many of these survived. They're delicate. The pictures inside these frames are just cool. They speak to an era that's gone. See pics for condition. I like happy customers so any extra questions during the process are fine by me. This nice Art Deco frame from the 1920's-30's is a well-loved piece of decoration. With some wear on the chrome frame, consistent with its age. The reverse-painted decoration is in very good condition and offers a beautiful time-piece of the era it comes from.
