I'm not certain of my description here but I've been advised that this is a 1930's terracotta statue in the Mexican Pre-Columbian style. Designed ... moreto be sold to gullible Westerners as the real thing. Pictures tell the story. Nothing to be added really, certain areas are very graphic so I've had to obscure them. Appears to be hand sculpted rather than cast. In very good condition except for the odd nibble here and there. 9.5 inches tall and weighs 1.416 kilos. I also have two similar objects which I may list if any interest is shown in this one. See last picture. RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fvo%7B2d71f%2Bb%3A%60%3E-13d9e795008-0x103-

Up for auction is a rare and beautiful Olmec winged pendant carved from green Serpentine stone. The elongated head shows cranial modification practiced ... moreby the Olmec culture. The septum is delicately drilled from both nostrils which meet in the middle. The mouth has a cleft palate showing the fleshy gums of the transformational carved head. Kuna Mola Blouse - ex Parker Neal Collection - Whale and Turtle Spirits
Mola Blouse With Whale and Turtle Spirits- Collected by Ann Parker and Avon Neal. Wild and colorful. This complete mola blouse portrays the spirits of a whale and a turtle- depicted in the form of birds- rising out of the back of the two creatures. The designs of the animals and spirits is really fun with a lot of hard-to-execute small diamond motifs, circles and bullet-shaped motifs. Note the cool hair on the whale's spirit bird(one side only) and the cool embroidered bird-eyes. The secondary plant motifs are also interesting. Great provenance. Mola panels measure 17.5" x 16" Collection of Ann Parker and Avon Neal. Molas. Folk Art of the Cuna Indians. Is one of the most important mola books ever written. Ann Parker and Avon Neal were a couple who teamed together to write a number of books on folk art. They made numerous trips ... moreto the San Blas Islands, starting in 1965. Their focus was on"story telling" molas, with a particular emphasis on acculturated molas that found their inspiration in western culture- magazine ads, billboards and comic books. The brass pieces are heavy cast, very ornate, 1" x 1 1/2" Belt is 28.5" long and 1 1/2" wide. I have not polished as it has a lovely aged patina but if so desired should polish up beautifully. This particular pot measures from 3” to 6” in diameter and is 4 ½” tall, and is in excellent condition. The bottom is a deeper ochre yellow and the browns in the geometric pattern are bold and dark. Superb Amazonian Terracotta Female Figure
This a beautiful Amerindian( armless female figure with wide hips. Is somewhat reminiscent in style of classic goddess statuary. The torso is painted with decorative tribal patterns/tattoos in black and wears a vegetable fiber loin cloth. I believe that this figure may be from the Amazonian areas of Peru or Ecuador. But I am not 100% sure. A truly SUPERB piece! Dimensions: 6 1/2" x 2 1/4" x 6" at hips) From a private collection and is in excellent condition. Brutalist Triangular Trinket Box Gold & Silver Color Metals, Old Primitive
Looks similar to antique Chinese boxes I have seen with same shape and size. However. This one is lacking any Asian motifs or figural or floral imagery and may be Latin/ Central American or from the Middle East. North Africa(Tunisa, Morroco) I have no idea. I believe I may have bought it on a trip to Central America but really don't remember where I bought this or how much I paid. It is definitely handmade and has a good bit of age to it based upon the patina on the metals used. Primitive or brutalist design.
