Ancient Pre-Columbian Teotihuacan Green Jade/Nephrite Amulet Figure 600 BCE ex Museum. I was told this was at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York ... moreand was part of a collection sold off. The stand was made specifically for this piece by the museum. It's size and base holes were carved to exact specs so that the figure stands firmly and securely. I'm sure the base cost them a couple hundred dollars alone. It comes with the sale of this piece. This is 100% genuine and is over 2,500 years old. Although the rear looks like it has a crack from the photo, that is NOT a crack. It's a black vein in the rock. This is in museum condition. About 4 and 3/4 inches tall.

Ancient Pre-Columbian COLIMA FAT DOG VESSEL Mexico AUTHENTIC Art Pottery Figure
Colima Dog This is a wonderful Colima figural dog vessel. As found in a local estate and believed to be an ancient piece from Western Mexico, approximately two thousand years old. The dog is fat- or pregnant- with a hollow body in aggressive stance with tail that forms a spout. The dog's eyes and mouth are incised into the clay. Dog effigies such as this were buried in tombs in the belief that dogs were an important guide into the afterlife of the deceased. Both of the dog's ears are chipped; one with minor loss. The other more significantly. Two legs have been re-glued; the repairs are rough and amateur, and the break lines appear to have had some loss and are not well-aligned. The burnished reddish brown exterior is mottled and veined. And the interior is encrusted with mineral sediment. The dog came to me without information on ... moreits history or provenance. But shows many indications of its age. It's a fascinating piece that is sure to complement any collection. Two legs repaired somewhat roughly. One ear is broken. The other is chipped. Other expected wear. Burnished exterior, rough interior with sediment deposits. 9 3/8" long. 6" high, 5" across[ p e n c i l p o i n t e r Shipping? FREE via USPS Priority International Shipping? The Stendahl Gallery is well-known for its prestigious collection ... moreof Pre Columbian Art. As early as 1935 Stendahl began promoting ancient artifacts from Mexico and Central America. Over time the Stendahl Galleries have become synonymous with Pre-Columbian art. Nationally and internationally. Stendahl's first client for the material was noted collector Walter Arensberg, who lured Stendahl to his Hollywood neighborhood as a personal friend and dealer. The Stendahl Galleries expanded into the Arensberg estate in 1954. Stendahl had helped Walter and Louise amass what one art historian called"the most discriminating single group of twentieth century paintings and sculpture in existence. Such was Stendahl's influence on the artistic landscape of Southern California and beyond. After his death in 1966. Stendahl's son, son-in-law(already veteran dealers) and grandsons continued the family business from the residential complex in the Hollywood Hills. President Ronald W. Dammann(Stendahl's grandson) and his wife April live there, presiding over the large art collection and enjoying the architectural contributions to their home of William Woollett, Richard Neutra, Gregory Ain, H.
