Beautiful vintage Molas from Panama. Dates from the 70s and the stitches are incredibly tiny! This fine example of their artistry was stashed away for many years. And is unused. They were removed from a traditional blouse, but have never been worn, washed, or used. The colors are vibrant. And the background is a rich burgundy. Molas are manufactured by Kuna women and no two molas are the same. They embody an entire philosophy and are a well-preserved tradition. Kuna women wear them every single day of their lives and are even buried in them. Molas are made by hand with reverse-applique needlework.
