The stirrups were made and styled to provide armour protection for the conquistador horseman's feet against weapons including swords and clubs. Due to the heavy construction they also providing a firm and solid base platform for the horseman to stand up in while using his own sword or weapons. These stirrups are heavy solid ... morehandforged brass that are about 10 1/4" long. 4 1/4" wide at back insert and 4 3/4" tall to the heavy brass attachment bar on top.
