Gorgeous shade of green Mexican jade stone pendant. Bat's face is quite charming.Almost smiling. Hole is drilled on top of the bat's head. Measures 2.5" tall 2" wide. Slanty almond-shaped eyes, full lips, and elongated ear lobes on human face. I lived in Mexico for many years in the 1970s and collected Mexican folk art and pre-Columbian artifacts of all sorts. I do not recall where this piece is from. Looks too smooth to be hand carved, so it probably is not more than 50 years old. Would be great hanging around your neck as a talisman or power symbol piece of jewelry.

You are looking at a pair of Mayan. Aztec sculpture statues. No markings and No reserve. One measures 8" tall and the other is 7 1/2" tall. I was told that they were originally from Mexico. I have owned the pair for many, many years. They have been wrapped and put away. The pair were never displayed in fear of breakage. Warrior, chief or priest figurine. Aztec or Mayan, wearing helmet and earings.
This large pre-Columbian ceremonial artifact is 7" tall. It depicts a high priest or chief making an offering. Perhaps to the sun god or other deity. The regal figure is wearing a very elaborate helmeted headdress, nose ring, earring, and the remains of a collared neckpiece. His left arm is held palm upwards in supplication and his right arm probably once held an offering skyward. There is an opening in the back that indicates this was perhaps an incense burner. Th ere is a wonderful regal bearing to the figure's face, This is a one-of-a-kind artifact- unlike the mold-made figures that were mass-produced in early mesoamerica. There are even the fingerprints of the ancient artisan throughout the chief's ceremonial attire. A wonderful link to the ancient peoples of long ago!

Pre-Columbian Mayan Aztec Pottery Figure/Figurine Artifact(Reproduction?) Look
Offering what may be a reproduction of a Pre-Columbian Mayan or Aztec pottery figure/figurine. But I'm not certain of this. You see, there are pock marks and raised pumps in some places on this piece, but I also recall seeing a show about Pre-Columbian pottery figures on National Geographic where there was mention that making molds from existing figures and then making more figures with those molds was not completely unheard of with the Mayan and Aztec peoples, and it was actually a common practice to help the artisans save time and energy. That is how I remember it, and I have a good memory, but you'll have to do your own research on this one. He does look old, for what that's worth; please see all images. He measures 7 inches high at the top of his headress by 3.5 inches across at his headress by 2.5 inches across at his arms ... moreby 2.26 inches deep at his arms, and he weighs right at 1 lb, 4 oz's. His right foot is missing, there is a small, shallow chip to the left side of his nose and there are a few small scratches and scuffs, here and there. This is what appears to be an old antique water carrier. Possibly Native American. Open at the top, the water would have come out of the mouth of the figure she is carrying.
