Vintage Indigenous Wood and Leather(skin) Drum 20" high x around 8" diameter at the top(it is not circular) x 6" diameter at the bottom. Mostly brown but there's been discoloration through time. Never used as a musical instrument. Always in display or stored. Hand carved design all around, skin top where you can see the hair on the sides. 5 wood sticks hold the skin in place and tight. Selling this Collection of RARE Antique and Vintage MOLAS from Kuna tribe. Panama. Some acquired from Kit Kapp collection, some from Bob Huber collection, some purchased in Panama in 1980s. Most Molas I am selling are very old. From the late 1800s to 1970. They have never been exhibited or previously sold, all from my private collection, which I gathered in about 35 years. This one is from c 1930. Nice geometric abstract design in red. Approx. dimensions 19" x 13 1/2" Purchased in Panama in 1980s. Mola. Antique Vintage Amazon Brazil Wai Wai Native Indian Tribe Woven Comb
The Wai Wai is now an endangered Amerindian tribe in Guyana. In 2007. According to International Cry online website, there were only 240 Wai Wai left in Guyana. Amerindian Tribes The Wai Wai is one of nine indigenous Amerindian tribes in Guyana. The others include the Patamona. Arecuna, Macusi, Wapisiana, Carib, Warrau, Arawak and Akawaio. Meaning Wai Wai means“tapioca people” and they were given that name because of the enormous amount of the tapioca(cassava) they eat. Up for auction is an antique/vintage woven comb made by the Wai Wai Indian tribe of Amazon Brazil. It is very delicate and interesting. The condition is very good. It measures 4 1/2" across the top and 2 1/2" across the bottom. And 2 1/2" tall. It has a card label attached. I did some research and found several sites with history and photos, including photos ... moreof some of the combs made. Some history of the Wai Wai tribe: The Wai Wai people and its tribal territory were discovered by the famous explorer R. Schomburgk during his exploration of the province of Essequibo in 1837. The Wai Wai live in small remote villages in the southernmost tropical forest of Guyana. They migrated from Brazil in the early 19th century and their population increased to some 1.250. As the tribe expanded, so too did trade and marriage contracts. When the Protestant Mission was established, nearly all the Wai Wai relocated near to it. In the 1970s, due to the uprising in the Rupununi area and events that followed, so did re-migration of the Wai Wai back to Brazil. By 1989, there was only one major tribal area remaining. Antique Vintage Mola San Blas Kuna Panama Fabric Folk Art Panel Finely Worked
Hi. You are bidding on a spectacular vintage(1940-1950's era) San Blas Islands fabric art mola. The size is about 20 inches by 16 inches. It is in good condition for age. It was wrapped around a canvas panel. And so there is a fold around the very edge of the mola. The panel had a very old type California address using one letter address and Calif. for California. I am sure this is one of the older molas. And you can see the amazing details. Each little circle cut out is meticulously stitched. The stitches are so small they are hard to see. Someone worked very hard to produce this little folk art panel. If you collect these, you will love this one. It is older, so don't expect perfection. Large Antique/Vintage Francisco "Pancho" Villa Portrait Painting Signed
Up for sale is this beautiful& original portrait painting of Mexican revolutionary Francisco"Pancho" Villa. This is a very nicely detailed and extremely well painted piece. I believe this one has some age as it uses the old. Small nails to hold the canvas instead of the more modern staples. Every detail from the hat to the mustache to the bullets are very beautifully painted. It is signed on the lower left with a signature that I am not familiar with. I believe this is a Mexican painting by a Mexican artist. There is some Spanish writing on the back of the canvas. I cannot make out all of it but I believe it says that this place hung at(cannot make out) in Mexico D.F. Mexico City) for a period of ten years from 1964-1974. This auction is for lot of 2 old/vintage fishing arrows from Central America. Probably Panama. Shafts made from grass stems or similar material, not wood, cane or bamboo. Tips are made from palm wood. Tips are attached with fine native twine. One arrow(shorter) has thin single point, triangular cross section, with numerous barbs. Other arrow has shorter barbed point with five shorter, very sharp palm barbs arranged around base of point. Would be very effective on smaller fishes. Nocks bound with twine but not notched. This is a very nice pair of Mexican carved and turned wooden lidded jars with feet. These came from an estate of a couple who purchased these in Mexico in the the 1940's. Measure approximately 3 1/2" tall. and 3 7/8" wide. Very good condition. One of the lids has some scratching and on of the inlays is missing on the lids as well. Antique Mola Folk Art Fabric Panel from Dress Vintage Panama San Blas Islands
Hi. You are bidding on a panel taken from an antique San Blas Islands dress. I sold the other front panel a few months ago. It was similar. This one measures 14 inches by 15 inches. It is old. So it is somewhat old looking, but in good condition. The sewing is spectacular, very detailed. There is embroidery as well. This one is handsewn with some areas of machine sewn. Thank you.

9" Long Antique Conquistador Solid Brass Stirrup This is a 9" long solid brass antique conquistador stirrup. This stirrup has a flat toe and a hole in the bottom we assume to let water drain out. The stirrup is all hand hammered using no bolts or screws to hold them together. This stirrup has patina and discoloration of the brass. And some minor rust and dents. This stirrup measures 9+" long.
