The Wai-Wai(or Waiwai) reside in the north central area of the Brazilian Amazon close to the border of Venezuela and also in Guyana This is a stunning piece that is in good shape with little age wear. This fine old comb has a Bird Bone back that all the comb teeth and mounted into. Take a good look at the workmanship/artistry involved in the making of this piece it is amazing. THE ITEM IS A RARE ANTIQUE VINTAGE CARVED STAINED BONE( POSSIBLY YAK OR BONE) DRAGON SHAPED' BLOW PIPE' THE ITEM IS VERY UNUSUAL WITH CARVED LEOPARDS/ TIGERS TO THE SIDE WITH HOOK ON' BIRD' DART HOLDER. THE DARTS ARE STILL INSIDE THE BIRD AND SEEM TO HAVE A TYPE OF WOOL' HEAD' ALTHOUGH I HAVE NEVER REMOVED THEM FROM THE HOLDER.
