This was an incredible Estate Sale find! This is an early Mid Century stool is all original and in fabulous condition. The vinyl is beige/light tan with black trim and is not faded. There are no scratches. Tears, pokes or scrapes on the vinyl. The hairpin legs have a brass ringlet. There are a few scuffs on the legs but not noticeable at all. It would be difficult to find another stool of this age in this condition. The stool stands about 18" tall and has a diameter of 18" The original tag states the stool was made by Merit Manufacturing in Jamaica, NY. The sturdiest little stool I've ever seen! Solid maple wood- well built- excellent quality! Legs are pegged into the top as shown in photo. A brass tag on the underside states the manufacturer- A genuine Cushman Colonial Creations- made in Bennington. Vermont. Also has an"F" stamped into it as well as"CUSHMAN 9038" The Cushman company was sold in 1971. This stool is over 50 years old, but has no major problems. A few surface scratches, but nothing structurally. The top looks like someone started to sand then stopped- a few light places on the top. 3 of the legs have a felt tab on bottom which I did not attempt to remove. ANTIQUE UPHOLSTERED CUSHIONED SMALL WOOD FOOT STOOL OTTOMAN BENCH VINTAGE
For sale we have a very pretty antique foot stool that measures 15 1/2 inches wide. 11 1/2 inches deep and is 9 1/2 inches high. The stool is cushioned and has a reddish burgandy slightly shiny fabric on it. This was recovered at some point. I do not know the exact age of this. To me it seems like the 1940's but I don't really know. The structure is great, no problems, as well as the fabric. The one leg is about 1/8 inch to short so I'm including some cork floor protectors so if you want to use them you can. You can double up on the one leg so the stool sits flat on the floor. You can cut them to size. The wood has a few scratches but nothing major. You can see on the bottom a staple that held a tag, a tiny piece of the tag is still there. Antique French Foot Stool Ottoman Bench Old Painted Ornate Velvet Five Legs
Gorgeous old foot stool or ottoman with the best French style! This is an unusual size and shape and in such good condition for its age. It has five legs although I believe it originally had six but its hard to tell since the one may have been broken off in the middle under the carved piece. Measures 29" long x 13" deep x 7" tall. Has a pretty velvety covering that's tacked on and fabric looks old although I'm not sure if its the original. I do not detect any smoke odors.
