The wool embroidery features butterflies hovering over colourful flowers- in greens,blues reds creams and yellows the embroidery is very well executed and charming and has a textured braid finish around the outside where pins hold it in place on the stool- please note that the cloth smells of smoke and the fabric is discoloured and has some dried glue marks as it was later covered with another fabric which has since been removed- several of the stool legs are loose- they have signs of old dried glue at the ... moresockets so have probably been fixed in the past-the wood is most probably pine. Although hard to see through the paint despite its obvious issues as described above. Vint Handmade Rustic Primitive Wood & Leather Covered Curved Milking/Foot Stool
Offered is a vintage(age unknown) Handmade Black wood w/leather covered curved seat Milking/Foot stool. This was purchased by me in PA a few years back. I can't quite remember what I was told about this milking stool but I do believe it to be Amish made.I kinda have a recollection that it was related to me this is rather old.but I had a traumatic brain injury a few years ago and I don't have the memory I once did. It does look pretty old to me and the leather is well aged and does have a tear on one side as shown in the photos and old looking nails BUT not handmade(in my estimation) and only seen where the leather is tacked to the bench(and do appear to be brass nails at least on one side.but I really do not know. I cannot see any other hardware on this item. There is a bit of gold paint on the underside spindles but not on the top ... morewhere the handles are. Although they are spindled. This stool measures approximately 19" wide from handle to handle x 13 1/8" wide@ handles x16.75" tall 2 handle tops and 22.75" wide from leg to leg(at bottom) and 14 7/8" tall at middle of curved seat. Some minor paint loss, and a few minor nicks/scratches but overall in pretty good condition.
