Antique Walnut Taboret Bench Stool Needlepoint Cushion Rose Butterfly
This is a ornate antique bench with a needlepoint cushion. It measures approx. 20 3/4" tall. 21" long and 15 1/2" wide. The base is made of solid wood(I believe it is walnut) that has a dark finish that is worn/scratched. There are 2 small and 1 large knob on each end, they do turn and have dowels between them, the wood piece behind one of the small knobs and the small knob is broken off and missing. I do not know how this stool is meant to fold but others that I have seen listed do say they fold. The cushion is covered with a large piece of needlepoint that has an olive green background with pink roses, foliage and butterflies in the center. It is not worn, ripped or faded but it fits slightly loose. This old stool has a wonderful antique look, it could be used as is or restored. Overall this piece measures in as at an impressive 72"L x 20"D x 15"H(perfect size for at the foot of a King size bed) Condition is as follows/ shown: The piece does need restoration. The fabric is in deplorable condition as shown. The walnut base I believe it's walnut, very dark brown color) is rock solid and void of breaks, repairs etc.There is some wear to the finish as shown in the photos. Antique vintage Merriam walnut piano stool bench ball and claw feet, good shape
Up for auction to U.S. customers only is an old piano stool made by Merriam Co. of South Acton. Mass. I believe the wood is mahogany. Overall it is in great condition(see pictures) with very tight joints and only a slight wiggle to the seat; the finish is in great condition with only a few small dings to the seat surface; somewhere along the line a previous owner decided to paint the metal parts of the ball and claw feet brass which looks good but is not original(a little stripper should easily remove the paint if you want a silver finish) It stands 19 inches tall and raises to 24 inches. A nice accessory for your piano, desk or for use as a plant stand. I don't know anything else about this item so please ask questions. Thanks for looking and please check out my other auctions.
