The ends or arms of the bench have a little bit of wiggle to them. But the bench is sturdy. One side of the bench appears to have been sat upon more than the other and so is a bit more"squished" than the other side. In my opinion. The bench is at least turn of the 20th century, if not older. I have not removed the dust cover from the underside to see the construction. Note that I have rotated the bench 180 degrees for photos. So both sides and both ends are shown.

It has wraparound arms with rope twist spindles and an oval medallion in the center. It is 42 inches wide, 18 inches deep, 18 inches high to the seat, 30 inches high to the arms and 36 inches high to the oval medallion back. The drawer is 37 inches wide and 3 inches high. But i am not sure, could be the ... moreearly 1900s?There are no markings on it that i can see. The Hall Tree is in excellent condition, is very solid, and has a nice aged Patina look. It is about 82-3/4" tall, 24 to 26" wide(at different levels) and 15" deep. The Beveled Mirror is about 17 1/4" wide and 35" high and in very good condition for its age. There are 6 Coat, Cap Hooks, the two on top are Butterfly Hooks( unusual& rare) see picture 5, I have never seen these before or after we got this one) I don't know if they were on the Hall Tree from day one or if someone added them later, they are old and they compliment the attractive decorative carvings on top, plus they do match the cutout pattern above the seat perfectly.see picture 3) The Bench Seat has storage space under the lid. NO Shipping Is Offered For This Item! Up for sale is an Arts& Crafts Era. Mission, Solid Oak Bench/ Sattee. This is a gorgeous oak bench that would look wonderful in a foyer, entrance way, or a hall. It was made in the Stickley era. It's unmarked. The wood is in very good condition, there are a few areas of wear. There are 1 or 2 areas where the joints seem slightly loose- definitely not too loose, like you can sit on the bench. But just, slightly wiggly. I'm not a carpenter or a wood guy, so I didn't want to try and tighten them. The leather cushion is clearly in disrepair. It would need to be restored in order to make it look nice. It has springs on the underside. Here are the measurements at the various parts: front edge of left arm to front edge of right arm is 51" wide- back edge of left arm to back edge of back ... morearm is 43 1/2" wide- seat back itself is 43 1/4" wide- height is 37 3/4" depth is 21 3/4" For the cushion. Further fielded panels are also visible to the bottom of the seat and the sides of the settle. The two lids in the seat are hinged with hand beaten forged iron hinges. The inside of the box settle is ideal for storing shoes and wellies in the hallway. The settle boasts down swept shaped oak arms to the sides. Pegged construction. The settle features the original polish and patination and thus the colour of this settle is superb. Interestingly. This settle was used in a Sherlock Holmes TV series that was filmed in Leek, on the Staffordshire moorlands in Derbyshire! This item would look superb in a variety of rooms from the hallway. Offered is this stunning ornate wrought iron hall or window bench. All hammered heavy iron(not cast) with chased copper and gold accents on the seat apron. Weighs a ton! About 80 or 90 pounds. The design is very Gothic. Spanish mission revival or French style. Would work great with arts and crafts styles. Probably made in the 1920's or 30's and I'm not entirely certain what the origin is. Antique Tiger Oak Hall Bench/ Deacon's Bench From my Grandparent's home in Western Pennsylvania Needs some TLC Exact age and style unknown. Estimated to be 1920s. The bench is made from both solid wood and wood veneers. I refinished this bench in the 1990s. However my work to repair chips in the veneers is poorly matched. More veneer chips have occurred since refinishing. Please see the many photos. I painted the interior of the bench(under the seat lid) to make it easier to see my children's hats and gloves. Which we stored there in the winter months. The bench measures about 41 inches wide x 16 inches deep x 39 inches height. My auctions come from a non-smoking home. Overall this piece measures in as at an impressive 72"L x 20"D x 15"H(perfect size for at the foot of a King size bed) Condition is as follows/ shown: The piece does need restoration. The fabric is in deplorable condition as shown. The walnut base I believe it's walnut, very dark brown color) is rock solid and void of breaks, repairs etc.There is some wear to the finish as shown in the photos. The cushion is spring supported and at the very least they need to be retied. This a recent attic find along with a similar oak piece I have in another listing. This is a rare beautiful and small oak hall seat with Umbrella stand. I originally bought from The Old Cinema in Chiswick about 15 years ago. It is very difficult to find small ones. They are nearly all very big and I had searched high and low for a small and pretty one that I could use in my Georgian Town house so the children could keep their shoes by the door and sit on it to put them on, on their way out. It looked lovely and was immensely practical hiding all the shoes with space underneath for a few as well as inside and room for holding umbrellas.
