vintage 40s Toledo UHL Draftsman Stool OAK SEAT & GREEN BASE chair Machine Age
Very nice all original UHL Toledo Draftsman pivoting chair with wooden casters. This is the first one I have had with quartersawn tiger oak seat and back. The height adjustment(15-1/4" to 18-1/4" is made via the metal plates under the seat. O riginal military green finish base with only normal light surface wear. No damage. Very sturdy. An excellent chair. By removing 4 wing nuts the seat easily separates from the base- I have priced shipping based on my doing this to reduce the package size. If you prefer that I ship it in one piece I can adjust the shipping rate to reflect the actual cost of doing so. VINTAGE TOLEDO STEEL FUNITURE This auction is for one used vintage Toledo drafting stool/ chair This unit is in great condition for it's age back rest& seat are some type of resin. The fram is made of all steel. Measurments are: at it's highest setting seat to ground is about 20 1/2 inches and backrest ajusted to it's highest setting about 35 1/2 inches to ground and the lowest seat to ground is about 15 3/4 inches and with the back still ajusted to it's highest setting with seat at it's lowest is 30 1/2 inches to ground. Vintage Industrial Toledo UHL Draftsman Stool Machine Age Chair 1930s Green NR
This 1930's Toledo Steel UHL Industrial draftsman or shop design stool is in very good condition. The metal on the legs and seat support rim is a dark industrial green and shows minimal wear for a stool of this age. The wood seat has the original finish and has a green tint to it. The foot rest is missing most of the paint on the top and shows more tarnish than the legs. As would be natural for this area of the stool. The pad ball feet also show some tarnish. I think the foot rest and feet could easily be cleaned with a light scrbbing of steel wool and some oil. The rest of the stool needs nothing more than a light cleaning with oil or wax. It is structurally sound and has no missing parts that I can see. It has the majority of the original foil label still intact on the underside of the seat. This vintage stool has a Toledo Uhl art steel base that has been painted blue. The seat height adjusts between 18.5" and 23" The back support height adjusts between 13" and 16" from the seat. Old Vintage Industrial Toledo UHL Draftsman Stool Machine Age Chair Antique Rare
Here we have a vintage or antique Machine Age industrial drafting stool by UHL Toledo. This stool is the authentic item but it is missing it's label. As you can see from the photos there is some wear and paint damage as well as some mild rusting but it is in great condition as you can see from the photos an awesome look. The seat of this stool is about 24 inches tall and it's surface area is about 16 inches by 14 inches. As shown in the photos the back rest is about 38 inches tall. The height of the chair is no longer able to adjust. When it was in factory use it seems that they customized the chair so that it could not adjust higher but the stool does swivel. Vintage/ Antique"Hallowell" Industrial Swivel Stool- Similar to the Toledo UHL Chairs or other Machine Age Steampunk stools. Manufacturer markings on chair: Hallowell” Standard Pressed Steel Co. Jenkintown. PA, USA Equipment Identification Label: PLCB-695 Function Number 77-3/00#210-RF-27-31, This vintage industrial Hallowell chair has adjustable height. The chair measures 39” tall to the top of the contoured backrest. The seat at its lowest height is 27.75” and at its tallest height is 31.5” The seat itself is 14.5” in diameter and the foot print of the chair(measuring the round foot rest bar) is 19” in diameter. This would be a great chair for a bar. Kitchen island, drafting table, or tall desk. The legs are comprised of heavy gauge steel with welded bracing for durability. The swivel and adjustable height mechanics are smooth ... moreand are not at all noisy; Vintage swivel chairs can often be noisy, but this chair makes nearly no sound when swiveling. The wood seat section can anchor to the steel frame with 4 bolts, but only 2 original bolts exist and are shown in the bottom-side of seat in the photos. While the two original bolts are definitely sufficient enough for stability— even for my 210lb frame— I will also provide 2 additional bolts purchased new from my local hardware store. The gray paint(with slight greenish and blue hues) shows areas of wear, but this gives the chair even more character. The wood sections of the chair are very structurally sound, but the contoured back rest is seeing some minor separation between wood laminates at the bottom edge of the backrest(see close-up photos) You can see there is a 3/4” wide piece of the top veneer on the backside of the backrest that has peeled off. This piece is missing and is not included. You are bidding on a vintage wood and metal drafting stool. It has a label that reads: Toledo Metal Furniture Co. UHL. Industrial made wood and steel construction. Original sticker on the frame stating UHL steel. Great comfortable stool with adjustable swivel seat and adjustable back. The seat height is 28 inches at the lowest and can go up about 4 to 5 inches. The seat itself is 16 inches x 14 inches. The seat has lots of wear with nicks and even looks like cigarette burns. Such patina is hard to beat! The seat has been removed for shipping. Vintage Industrial Toledo Uhl Art Steel factory metal stool chair machine age
Here is an industrial stool/ chair. For your home, art studio, or work shop. Its got the great look of the 1920s-1950s industrial era. Material is steel and birch plywood. The makers tags are missing. Its a Toledo probably. Its in as found condition. And can be used as is. I did some light cleaning to it. And ran the seat adjuster up and down. The chair adjusts in height 5 inches. With a seat height of 16 to 21 inches. Heavy duty factory type item. After doing some looking to ID this item. I have found all the design features used by the Toledo Uhl Art Steel company. Further reading shows the plywood versions to be older than the plastic ones. About the Toledo Uhl company The Toledo Metal Furniture Company was started as Uhl's Cycle Emporium at 1021-23 Monroe Street in Toledo. Ohio in 1898. Philip and Clement Uhl were the original founders, ... moreand brought in their brothers Joseph Otto, Charles, Henry and Robert Uhl. Later the Uhls shifted their focus to manufacturing ice cream parlor furniture. Renaming the company Uhl Art Steel, and in 1904 incorporating as the Toledo Metal Furniture company. By 1920, there were over 150 employees and the product mix had been expanded to include office and classroom furniture. According to a 1914 Journal of the National Association of Retail Druggists. Clement and Joe designed the unique locked truss-rail leg assembly of cold rolled steel that remains a hallmark of the company's furniture. In addition to lending a distinctive design element. The truss was important in creating a product with the strength and durability to endure rugged use by students, telephone operators, military personnel, draftsmen and ice cream parlor customers. Vintage 40's Toledo Uhl Drafting Draftsman Swivel Machine Age Chair Walnut
I am very pleased to offer this all original as found signed Toledo Uhl draftsman chair that has its original finish and original paint. The chair has its classic tilt adjustable back rest with wing nut configuration and has its riser adjustment underneath for height. This one is also a swivel model. It is aprox 39 1/2" tall from floor to back of head rest and can raise aprox 5" easily with riser. The seat measures aprox 29 from seat to floor in down position and can go as high as 33" in the top notch. The chair has some minor wear at feet where you would expect from usage and age and all the pads on feet move freely. There is a small wear mark on the front of the seat from the previous owner getting on and off thru the years and you can see this in the photo. I have taken a lot of pictures showing the aspects of the chair ... moreand the condition and even the underside which has the previous owners name in pencil and a tag from the furniture company that originally sold the chair. So that you know. This chair has been in one family its entire life so it will get a new home from whoever is able to purchase this great Mid Century Modern chair. Vintage Machine Age Industrial Stool Chair Old Toledo Steel Era Adjustable Metal
Here we have an old vintage Machine Age industrial stool. The seat of the stool is about 14 inches in diameter. The back rest measures about 12 inches across. The seat can adjust to about 33 inches high and as low as about 25 inches. As you can see from the photos this chair has some wear for use in a factory and has been well used. AUTHENTIC TOLEDO UHL METAL FURNITURE COMPANY DRAFTING CHAIR circa 1940s or 1950s. I just listed a near identical one if you want a matching pair. I PURCHASED TWO TOLEDO CHAIRS IN GOOD CONDITION TWO YEARS AGO AT AUCTION(BUT THERE WERE SOME SCRATCHES AND STAINS ON THE WOOD AND THE ORIGINAL GREEN/BROWN PAINT I DID NOT CARE FOR) FIRST AND FOREMOST: This is no Restoration Hardware knockoff. There is no stamp or sticker visible as it was removed during repainting the base. Then I lost it.what can I say. I'm not a professional handyman or carpenter. I disassembled the chair the best I could but did not want to remove the rivets. All wood was sanded to the grain. Stained with a walnut colonial finish, and given two coats of clear non glossy polyurethane. The steel frame and hardware I painted jet black but I did miss a few spots not wanting to ... moreget paint on the wood. PLEASE INSPECT IMAGES CLOSELY. WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET. Tag states Property of United States Government- Navy Seat Measures 14.5 inches diameter Foot Rest Ring Measures 16 inches diameter Feet are approximately 15 inches on square. Lowest seat setting is 25.33 inches(seat to floor) Highest seat setting is 29.75 inches(seat to floor) Weighs almost exactly 20 pounds. Item is in excellent condition for its working condition for its age and great light rust/paint loss/original wood patina. Seat is intact with no cracks. Vintage Toledo Industrial Swivel Chair -Adjustable Height, Composite Seat-
Very nice Toledo Metal Manufacturing adjustable industrial drafting style stool. The seat goes from roughly 24" high to 16" low. The seat is some sort of plastic composite material that flexes a little bit to make an extremely comfortable surface. This one does not have casters but does swivel.
