Measuring 72" 6'0" long x 12" wide x 18.5" high. Frame measures a nominal 67 5/8"x 8.75"x 17.5" Hardwood tops are a full 1" thick. With two(2) tops@ 1 3/8" Metal rivited labels by Cross Mfg have individual serial numbers. The hardwood tops have 80 years of wear and vary widely in terms of overall patina and color tone, further are straight and true, with no warping what so ever. No screws are included. Likewise the steel frames, which are sturdy and are strong, exhibit varying degrees of patina ranging from dull appearing flat paint to mild/medium paint flaked surface ... morepaint. Very slight surface rust at the lower legs. Untouched and come directly from several years of dry storage. An unusual numerical find and compliment the six we sold late last year. Surfaces can be best described as original and untouched reflecting approximately eighty years of exposure. The wooden seat measures 15" diameter and stands 28" high at its lowest adjustment. It can adjust up about 3" +. I will lower it down all the way for shipment. This was found in very nice condition. There is a bit of exposed metal here and there. Some light discoloration, light surface rust and surface scratches. The foot rest has the most paint wear from use. DESIGN: A rare and versatile early Industrial Toledo UHL Steel task desk with matching Walnut seat stool circa 1930. Completely manufactured of solid high gauge steel throughout with original Brown enamel finish. All very well engineered and machined. Manufactures decal marking is evident on the backside rail of the desk. Although it is worn it is legible as the early shield/scroll design logo. Antique Machine Age Industrial Chair Stool Steel Do-More Casters Adjustable UHL
Here we have a great Machine Age industrial chair. This chair is made of steel and I have seen people listing them as UHL Toledo and also as Do-More stools. I have not seen any markings on this chair to indicate either of them as being the brand. The casters are Bassick casters and as you can see from the photos there is some wear and chipping to the wheels. Photo 10 shows the worst of the chipping to one of the wheels. As you can see from the photos this chair has been repainted and maybe recovered but it was obviously done awhile ago. The back rest of the chair is about 31 inches tall and the back rest is about 15 inches wide. The seat is about 17 1/2 inches tall and is 12 1/2 inches by 16 inches. The back rest of the chair is adjustable as you can see. The seat of the chair looks like it may adjust but I wasn't able to figure out how ... moreit does so. Antique Industrial Machine Age Adjustable Cast Iron Steel seat Stool Chair draft
This is an absolutely killer industrial chair/ stool. With adjustable seat back. The two things that really stick out to me as unusual with this are the seat back assembly and the splayed out feet. The height of the seat is approx. 18" With the seat back(as configured currently) at 31" though it can adjust higher or lower to desired height. The feet create a rectangle of approx. 13 1/2" x 14 1/2" The seat is approx. 14 1/2" in diameter. The only minor issue I can discern is that the front piece of the seat is seperated(totally stable as is. Since the metal ring is supporting underneath) and just needs to have some wood glue put into the crack to tighten it back up. Visible in last photo. Sold with No Reserve. Vintage Industrial Toledo Uhl Art Steel factory metal stool chair machine age
Here is an industrial stool/ chair. For your home, art studio, or work shop. Its got the great look of the 1920s-1950s industrial era. Material is steel and birch plywood. The makers tags are missing. Its a Toledo probably. Its in as found condition. And can be used as is. I did some light cleaning to it. And ran the seat adjuster up and down. The chair adjusts in height 5 inches. With a seat height of 16 to 21 inches. Heavy duty factory type item. After doing some looking to ID this item. I have found all the design features used by the Toledo Uhl Art Steel company. Further reading shows the plywood versions to be older than the plastic ones. About the Toledo Uhl company The Toledo Metal Furniture Company was started as Uhl's Cycle Emporium at 1021-23 Monroe Street in Toledo. Ohio in 1898. Philip and Clement Uhl were the original founders, ... moreand brought in their brothers Joseph Otto, Charles, Henry and Robert Uhl. Later the Uhls shifted their focus to manufacturing ice cream parlor furniture. Renaming the company Uhl Art Steel, and in 1904 incorporating as the Toledo Metal Furniture company. By 1920, there were over 150 employees and the product mix had been expanded to include office and classroom furniture. According to a 1914 Journal of the National Association of Retail Druggists. Clement and Joe designed the unique locked truss-rail leg assembly of cold rolled steel that remains a hallmark of the company's furniture. In addition to lending a distinctive design element. The truss was important in creating a product with the strength and durability to endure rugged use by students, telephone operators, military personnel, draftsmen and ice cream parlor customers. Vintage Machine Age Industrial Stool Chair Old Toledo Steel Era Adjustable Metal
Here we have an old vintage Machine Age industrial stool. The seat of the stool is about 14 inches in diameter. The back rest measures about 12 inches across. The seat can adjust to about 33 inches high and as low as about 25 inches. As you can see from the photos this chair has some wear for use in a factory and has been well used. The foot rest has been welded and some of the welds have cracked slightly but it's still sturdy. The condition of the stool gives it a great look and is structurally sound. You're looking at an original 1940s Angle Steel Company factory stool with original seat and backrest. This stool is in good vintage condition and as you can see in pic#12. It was originally used by a WWII U.S. Navy torpedo station. It possess its a military green steel finish. Showing wear commensurate with age including light rust, pitting, marks etc. The wood has a natural patina and is very clean, without splitting or cracks. Very sturdy and stable. The feet show some rust and one foot(pic#10) has a crack but this doesn't affect the stool's stability. This item is very used and is sold as is in vintage used almost antique condition. This auction is for an antique industrial. Adjustable 3 leg stool made of wood and steel. It ranges from about 20" to about 26" tall and it originally had a back rest. It has been repainted and the legs show some wear, but are still solid and strong. I oiled the three seat posts to be able to move it up and down.
