It has a stick and ball gallery back, carved tassels on both sides, flared back legs, multi-turn front legs, brass cap castors and hip huggers. The overall size is 35 inches wide at the wideset point, 23 inches deep, 36 inches high to the top of the crest and 17 inches high to the seat. It is a great piece of Victoriana. Shipping starts at $165 for a driveway delivery in our normal New England delivery area. Federal Style Antique Mahogany Window Bench Sofa Settee Canape Loveseat
Federal Style Mahogany Camel Back Upholstered Settee Circa the First Quarter of the 20th Century With a soft serpentine curvature along the crest into the arms. This petite window bench has wonderful form. The arms scroll outward and into the seat frame, the entire frame covered in a striped upholstery, which stuffs over the frame of the seat. The sofa rests over two tapered and molded front legs, each of solid carved mahogany- the back legs are slightly backswept, tapering in a plain leg. This is a gorgeous designer piece. Dimensionally perfect for a window bench, a small settee in front of the master bed, as a seating implement in a smaller room or study. It is incredibly comfortable, very strong and sturdy throughout and absolutely charming in every way. The hand carved legs have a beautiful soft patina in the deep finish. The scrolled arms form an overall cupped shape to the seat, upholstered in a rich red velvet, this in overall very good condition being recently reupholstered at a shop in Maryland based on the label underneath. The surface is distressed, primarily a silvered finish highlighted by gilt-gold. The arms scroll in an acanthus-inspired motif to culminate in leafed rosettes, flowing into the carved reeded silvered supports that join at the apron in a gilt pattern of repeating droplets at the center. Antique Arts & Crafts Wrought Iron Gothic Window Hall Bench Spanish Mission
Offered is this stunning ornate wrought iron hall or window bench. All hammered heavy iron(not cast) with chased copper and gold accents on the seat apron. Weighs a ton! About 80 or 90 pounds. The design is very Gothic. Spanish mission revival or French style. Would work great with arts and crafts styles. Probably made in the 1920's or 30's and I'm not entirely certain what the origin is. Measures 28" long by 20" wide and is 26" high to the arm rests and seat height is 16" Condition is excellent with minor rust or patination in the steel. No damage, breaks or repairs. Italian/Continental Early 20th Century Trompe L'oeil Window Seat Bench Settee
This is a sweet settee or window seat with rolled ends and newly reupholstered in a natural tone. Thick, rich fabric. The piece is probably Italian or Continental and from the early part of the 20th Century, possibly late 19th. The Tromp L'oeil painting is original. There are several areas where bumps have chipped the finish slightly as can be seen in the photos, however, I find this adds to the antique European appeal. The wood frame had been gessoed and then painted so any chipped areas appear white from the gesso. There are cartouche medallions on each corner and the legs taper gently. Spanish Colonial Revival Iron Fireside/Window Bench 1910-1930 ~ NOT a Replica
The height of popularity for this style of furniture was Circa 1830 to 1850. A revival of it was brought about again in Circa 1910 to 1930- the Spanish Colonial Revival style. This piece is from that era. It was part of my grandmother's collection of antiques. She was the antiques expert- I had to ask an expert about this fireside bench(he was the one that gave me the above information) So please view all pictures and if you have any questions, I will answer them promptly and to the best of my ability. Measurements(approximate) Bench seat: 42.5 inches long, Arm-to-arm: 49 inches long, Bench seat: 18 inches tall, tallest part of the arms: 26 inches tall, Bench seat: 14 inches wide, This bench is heavy(approximately 52 lbs. and very solidly built. Markings: Pat. Pend. and"Verona 75" stamps underneath on the frame in two places. ... moreNot only did the Spanish Revival style consist of wooden furniture with inlays and carvings. But also the integration of leather and nail heat trim. I can just imagine how beautiful this bench would be if it were reupholstered in leather! Damaged/missing: 1) one flower-shaped nut/bolt missing from one of the two bars that make up the arms at the seat level. And 2) a break in one of the decorative scrolls on one end- to the left of the'Aladdin Lamp' decoration(see pictures) Other than the damage and missing part mentioned above, it is in excellent condition- no apparent repairs. Paint and design are original. It has been reupholstered, but I do not know when. This fireside bench can be picked up in Fort Worth. Texas, after payment has been confirmed through PayPal. FRENCH LOUIS XVI STYLE CARVED GILT STOOL OR WINDOW BENCH France c. 1900 Item# 409AUQ20 This is a beautiful French Louis XVI Style bench crafted with skill and integrity during the late 19th or early 20th century. The carving is of a quality above reproach in a manner typical of the period. The frame with a repeating and laurel leaf motif flanked on either corner by highly detailed rosettes set over turned and tapered legs with crisp fluting beneath a bold acanthus knee and terminating in bold ring turned feet. It is covered with an early velour of a mellow rusty hue with wonderful variation throughout, in our opinion a very attractive companion to the bench in it's current condition. This is a very striking piece, the burnished gilding particularly well done and brilliant under the light surface oxidization and tarnish. This is a precious ... morepiece that will a fine addition to any rooms with a French flair, though it also juxtaposes modern furniture with clean lines quite handsomely. Measurements: 34 1/2" W x 17 3/4" D x 20 1/2" H Condition Report: Several rosettes are missing the centermost roundel; gilt is tarnished and oxidized throughout. Though rather attractively.
