It's very stable and sturdy. The seat covering couldn't be over a year or so in age. It would be very easy to replace the fabric on the seat with one of your favorite colors or patterns. It has pretty cabriolet style legs on pad feet. It has a unique set of handles made into the frame on each side of the seat. At one time the lid had either a connector or chain attached to it. At it's widest point. It's 20 5/8" wide X 14 1/4" and 20 1/2" tall. The seat/lid is 15 3/4" X 12 3/4" The padded seat is 15" X 12" The storage area under the seat is 3 1/2" deep. Vintage Vanity Bench/Stool/Seat Mahogany 1940's Hollywood Regency
Seat is 17 3/4" high by 23 3/4" wide by 14" deep. Back height is 23 3/4" Leg spread is 24 3/4" wide by 18 3/8" deep. Tag has it being made by the Statesville Chair Co. It looks to be solid mahogany to me except for the center lattice that goes between the seat and the fancy grooved and turned rail. It has been reupholstered at some point in a heavy 50's type vinyl covering. You can still see the old upholstery along some of the edges if you look underneath. Age is around the 1940's give or take 10 years. Sound and solid with some old nicks and scratches that look to have been touched up whenever they redid the upholstery. A little fine white paint mist on it from someone getting some roller spatter on it but not much of it and it does clean off. Upholstery has no holes or tears but does have 2 light brown ... moremarks on it on the front right corner looking at it. It still feels nice and flexible. This wonderful Bench has a medium/dark red/brown Mahogany stain finish color on the frame. This beautiful Bench is in original condition. And it is secure and sturdy, ready for daily use. There are some minor spots on the fabric. See pictures, we recommend having the Bench professionally cleaned or re-upholstered. Ask us for a quote on re-upholstery/re-finishing. This Bench/Stool was produced by Tomlinson. A fine furniture manufacturer, and it was designed by George Pike. T here are some minor scratches/spots here and there proper to its age and wear& tear.
