The dimensions of this vintage foot stool are 15 inches wide. 10&1/2 inches front to back, and 9 inches tall. It has been reupholstered many years ago, by a previous owner.It has had repairs over the years but, it is in sound condition and good shape now. It has a 1&1/2 inch wide, press carved frame around the bottom of its seat. Its turned feet end in a corner square with curving, see photo. The bottom of the seat is wood with a traditional seat cover with no rips or holes. The underside of this stool still has some of its old upholstery tacks and signs of glue, The stool's frame appears to be re-glued by previous owners. The shipping weight is seven pounds. An amazing piece of art sculpture furniture by Andrew Martin dating to around 1994. An inflatable seat or footstool within a chrome metal frame on wheels. Great shape to the frame and legs. The plastic rubberized seat is enclosed with rib like loops of chrome metal. As art furniture its up to the viewer to decide what it depicts or suggests. Some people think giant caterpillar or grub. Space ship, alien, sausage or the more controversial phallic option which is possible as this designer is said to have incorporated the erotic in his designs. It looks space age but organic and it certainly gets you thinking which is what art is all about. I have the original accompanying literature slips for it. One shows an exhibition including the stool and other designs as if floating in the air, the other slip describes the designers work etc. It can be ... morepumped up with the foot pump provided to a firm setting. Or deflated slightly for a more soft feel, can be sat on or used as a foot stool. Measures almost 70 inches long. 19 tall and approx 22 wide at its widest as it tapers at the ends. In good condition with no damage seen. Some tape underneath but I think is preventative. I can find no record of this model for sale or sold, it could be a display piece, not sure, definitely very rare. Andrew Martin pieces command high prices. Even new items such as a basic foot stool are on sale at £ 1800 ish. This is a very special piece and looks fantastic. Authentic Large Antique African Elephant Foot Stool Purchased in 1971 at antique store in Brooklyn NY. Taxidermy was done in the 1930's. It appears to be from that time frame. The foot itself is in good condition. There is dust in the cracks from years of sitting. And what looks like an old paint splotch. Old Natural Wood Splint Hand Woven Seat Foot Stool Great Workmanship!
The wood on this primitive bench is in good shape. Seat has been redone. It has been hand knitted with what appears to be a course yarn. This is not my area of specialty. I purchased this piece years ago at an antique shop here in Georgia. I used it for display only. Seat is very nicely done. The material shows a small amount of wear on the sides but is overall in great shape. No stains. Clean. From smoke-free and pet-free home. Approximate measurements are 14.5" x 12. This is an Old Oak Foot Stool with a Woven Seat. The stool is 12 1/2” tall. 16” wide, and 12” deep. The stool is sturdy and in excellent aged condition. Nice solid oak mission style foot stool. Small size measures about 12" x 12" square on top and 10" high legs. Looks like a leather or faux leather upholstery. scuffs and marks in the wood from use and age. There is damage underneath to one side of the wood- I am included a picture of this. Here is an old primitive. Rustic footstool. The footstool measures approximately 14 L X 11 W X 9 1/2 inches tall. The legs are 1 1/2 inches wide. The seat is woven what appears to be like a paper/cardboard type of material. There is some paint drops and part of the woven material shows a torn or broken part and there is a crack in the wood on the top of the leg, please see photos. This would be a nice accent piece.
