Stool's base is a fantastic piece of industrial furniture has flared legs. Ball& socket feet, ringed foot rest, and height adjustment mechanism. Stool seat is a walnut colored bent plywood that goes well with the original patina gray paint. chair is all original. Vintage Industrial Metal & Wood Green Shop Drafting Factory Stool Chair ~Sturdy~
Vintage Heavy& Sturdy Steel Stool The metal on this great stool ha s a lovely aged patina. It is olive green with some rust. And one leg has a splash of some brighter green. The seat is newer, and it is black with some wear on the edges which reveals a beige undercoat. This is an extremely sturdy stool- the steel is quite heavy with the piece weighing about 17 pounds. The stool is technically adjustable. Although I am not selling it as such because once the top is raised, the leg parts do not align to be able to reattach the bolts and nuts. Has label on base"edsal" which looks to be dated 1967. Stool shows average cosmetic wear. No rust. Dents, etc. I think the screw on the back rest may be a replacement. Good sturdy piece. Legs adjust with screws to a variety of heights. At the tallest it measures 25" from floor to seat and shortest it is 17.5" from floor to seat. Vtg. Industrial Toledo Metal Furniture Co. Uhl Drafting Stool with back rest
Vtg. Industrial Toledo Stool with swivel seat and adjustable in height. Great earlier Toledo label as pictured. This stool measures 22" 26 1/2" adjustable height. Seat measures 16" w x 14" d. and has a 16" dia. foot ring. Original height adjustment spring is missing and has been replaced by newer one. The feet on this stool are worn, all four balls are fully intact along with rings but the bottom has worn out. This stool is military green in color showing use with random paint splatter on its seat. Great stool overall.

Hardboard top has some paint chipped here, some rust there and scratches on the seat, but it is still very solid and a great, simple piece to look at. Overall this piece measures approximately 31" high. Floor to top of seat is approximately 18” high and the seat itself measures approximately 14” x 14” Stamped. Lyon Metal Products, Inc. Aurora. Illinois” There are no breaks in the welds or the seat… again. Very solid. There was some surface rust on the bottom of the seat. But I wire brushed it revealing NO crazy eaten away metal. Vintage Toledo Metal Furniture Industrial Drafting Stool UHL Steel mid century
I have other UHL and vintage industrial items listed and more on the way. This is a cool stool with great patina it hasn't been cleaned or restored it looks cool as is or if you want you could paint it. This is 18 tall and 14.25 wide it is very sturdy it will hold anyone. The front legs are molded with a curve in them at first I thought they were bent but they were made that way not sure of their purpose but it does make working on things on the ground easier with a tilt to the seat.

This stool shows wear from age as pictured with a few tears in the cushion and some surface rust on the steel- all original as found condition. The stool has a metal frame(not sure if this is iron or steel) and the seat is made of wood. The seat swivels 360 degrees. It has a footrest and the seat adjusts from 30 inches to 36 inches by spinning the seat. It is a heavy duty, industrial chair that was made to last for decades and will survive for many more. It does have some cracks in the wood seat. There is also some surface rust present on the metal legs, tips of feet and on the footrest. Vintage Industrial Wood Metal Adjustable Drafting Stool Antique Operator Stool
This is a stool loaded with charactor! I was told it was an artist or drafting table but also told it was a operator or engineers stool. Measuring approx 31.5" without raising it up(this includes the high of the metal pad( on the bottom which was obviously not original to the piece but could be removed) Legs measure approx 19.5" across(at bottom) and stool seat is just over 14" in diameter. I wish I could read the original tag on the stool(see pictures. Tag is slightly better than pictured but hard to read) I can read the word mahogany on the tag but there is also a word preceeding it which I cannot. I am having trouble reading anything inside the company insignia. It appears to be a person standing in the center but again, I am unsure. I would LOVE to know where it came from but have come up with no results. The leather cover ... moreon the seat(seat is not solid. It is a wooden rim with hollow middle) is tattered around edges. It appears to be a blue type fabric underneath it, looking from the underside I do not believe it is original. The mechanics of the chair appear to be in working order. Chair raises and lowers with a bit of play. The wooden arched foot rest has 3 spots of cracking but it is solid and this appears to only be through the outer layer of wood with the deepest of the cracks less than half way through the wood. It does not seem to affect the integrity at all. One of the wooden plugs on the bottom of the legs(covering an old flat head screw) is gone, the other 3 are in tact. Original sticker on the frame stating UHL steel. Great comfortable stool with adjustable swivel seat and adjustable back. The seat height is 28 inches at the lowest and can go up about 4 to 5 inches. The seat itself is 16 inches x 14 inches. The seat has lots of wear with nicks and even looks like cigarette burns. Such patina is hard to beat! The seat has been removed for shipping. Cool little industrial stool. I believe it was made by toldedo! Has a little surface rust but very sturdy and tons of life left! dimensions are in photos. about 18 x 12. Vintage Industrial SPS Hallowell metal drafting stool shop chair toledo uhl 20s
I will be near Chicago on 4 Oct. Ask about delivery. Standard Pressed Steel Hallowell metal stool chair industrial toledo uhl era 40 Material is steel and birch plywood. With the original military green steel finish. The makers stamp is present on the seat underside. Its in as found condition. And can be used as is. I did some light cleaning to it. And ran the seat adjuster up and down. Heavy duty factory type item. About the SPS or Standard Pressed Steel Company In 1903 Howard T. Hallowell and Harald F. Gade. A Norwegian engineer, along with their friends and relatives, started the Standard Pressed Steel Company. The company still exists and makes high tech metal items. In 1920 the Standard Pressed Steel Company moved its operations to one site in Jenkintown. A Philadelphia suburb that remained the firm's headquarters in the decades ... moreahead. Workers at the plant needed many work benches, so the company started making not only work benches but also other shop equipment, such as shelves and cabinets, that were sold to other companies. Thus was born the new line of SPS products. Dimensions in inches: 16 wide x 14.8 deep seat. The seat height is 22.8 front and 21.2 rear. And can be adjusted to slope a little. The chair back adjusts in height 3 inches. And is 34.5 tall at its highest setting. The backrest can be unbolted and left off. And will be removed for shipping. The feet are 13.8 wide where they rest on the floor. Weighs 14 pounds. Will fit in a 18 x 18 x 24 box. For lower shipping costs Condition: Its got its original military green steel finish. Which looks good. Its not bent or flawed. But could use a wire wheel cleaning at the feet. The plywood seat has stains in the wood grain. The plywood seat looks good. But could stand a sanding and fresh varnish/ linseed oil/ lacquer finish. The plywood is not perfectly smooth. But could be sanded smooth. I will leave any more restoration to the new owner. The tags is still on the chair that reads Toledo UHL as shown in pic. Vintage UHL American industrial"posture line" factory industrial chair. Please refer to pictures as they are a big part of the description. Chairs are in very good structual condition. Walnut chair seat and back are in great condition in relation to these chairs age. Metal shows surface rust in places as pictured. But I have decided to leave them in as found condition with the green paint with light rust as some prefer the patina ... morethat comes with age. Original rubber feet with the words"Pussyfoot" and"Toledo Metal Co. are imprinted into the rubber. Shadowline Co. lingerie was their manufacturing bisusness) used these chairs in their company, but have been out of business for years. Chairs have been stored all this time. My father worked there in the 1960's and 70's. These chairs fabricated around 1922-25 by The Toledo Metal Furniture Co. This factory office chair was made according to the recommendations of the American Posture League of New York City. Its use brings the pelvis in right relation to the spine. So that one's weight is distributed over the pelvis and thighs. Nearly all parts of the chair are comprised of steel, cold rolled and die formed. The base is rigidly braced and has long wearing quality. The braces which make the base rigid are held in place by retainers set inside the"u" shaped legs, so that there is no pivoting motion to weaken the construction. Antique industrial heavy drafting stool. Wood seat is 14" round. And adjusts in height aprox, 16" to 28" Seat is very thick at 1" Wood has been glued at one time, and shows its years beautifully. Some spots of old paint add that special touch. Seat wood is very solid and firmly attached. Ready to sit on. Seat height is set at lowest height in picture for shipping) Metal is very heavy, also shows it age well. Metal is structurally excellent. Stool has a 16" base.
