Cast iron stool appears to have its original dark green paint with black and gold highlights(see photos) The design of the cast iron work appears to have some Eastlake pierced open work grill design. In addition to the ornate Victorian drape effect of oak leaves and the scrollwork feet, and the flowing/swirling Art Nouveau oak leaf and vine designs. Appears to have original pine or soft wood cover top. With is covered with the original straw– the straw covered with remnants of original jute material. The jute is covered with a 1930s era cloth material. And covering this material is a worn dark forest green velvet. The wood stool top is easily recoverable if new owner should so desire. Heavy piece– weights about 16 pounds. Markings: impressed numbers“25” and“5” on underside of stool. Impressed into cast iron. Dimensions: stool measures about 17” inches diagonally(corner to opposite corner) And about 14” inches wide(x) 14” inches long(measuring at widest part of stool from outside foot to outside foot) Stands approximately 8 3/4” inches in height including wood velvet covering. Nice design, decent weight(about 6 1/2 pounds or so) As shown, there is some typical tarnish/corrosion on the metal as seen in the picture like on the bottom of the feet and I'm not sure if the legs are put on correctly or not-slightly loose/wobbly, common age wear to the fabric underneath also as shown. Gorgeous. Antique footstool with cast iron legs and mohair fabric(which is in great condition) I don't have a lot of information about this piece, but I would estimate it is from the early 1900's. It measures 12 1/4" in diameter on top. 15" in diameter to the outside of the feet and is 5 1/2" high. The brass band on the outer edge is dented in places and the fabric is somewhat faded but clean, overall it is in good condition. This lovely little stool is in very good condition for its age. The cast iron has surface rust but it does not affect the structure. The block connecting the seat to the feet portion has a chunk out of it. But you can't see that unless you are laying on the floor(nobody that drunk will care) The upholstery is in very good condition but not original. I'm pleased to offer this beautiful hard to find oval 3 legged cast iron foot stool. The stool is 6.5" high and is an oval 12.5" diameter. The cast iron legs are in terrific shape. The stool has been reupholstered in a great raised center tapestry with a royal purple velvet pleated band. Would be fantastic in any décor. Also a great gift idea. Very unusual true antique foot stool dates to the early 1900's. The base is made of cast iron features a floral and horse huff like leg. The base under upholstery appears to be old pine. The upholstery obviously had been redone and once again is in need of redoing. This sweet little stool measures 12.5" in length at maximum points across the bottom of the feet. 8 3/4" wide and 8.5" high. In great condition for its age!

I also find new and interesting things at local estate sales. Today I am listing a fantastic antique"Shabby Chic" footstool. The legs are cast iron and feature a fan in the center and twig feet. The top is wood and covered with a needlpoint. It measures 14" by 10.5" and is 7" tall. It is in good repaired condition. There is wear to the needlepoint. Along the edges. I had to put a metal brace on the wood as it was cracked and one leg was repaired many, many years ago but the repairs do not show on the front. It comes from a smoke-free home. Which is covered in a burgandy material, is approx. 10" x 16-1/4" Iron side panels are 6-3/4" tall x 8-3/4" wide. No maker markings that I could find. No cracks or breaks in the iron. The wood base is undamaged and sturdy. Material is worn. Originally had a brass or gold tone finish with 99% of the finish worn off.
