For your consideration is this antique mission oak bench or footstool. It is made of quartersawn oak and retains it's original finish. It features nicely shaped and cut out end panels with keyed tenons. The top shows remnants of an oilcloth or leatherette seat cover. It is stamped with the number 408 underneath. It measures 18 1/2" long overall. 15" tall and 12" deep. Everything remains in very nice as found condition. I think this type of fabric was popular in the 50's and 60's. It is VERY sturdy, heavy and is large enough to use as a bench for extra seating or rest your legs on. Very good condition.wood legs show minor wear from age and use, hardly worth mentioning. Any refinish is always left up to the new owner. My opinion is this has been reupholstered at some time and everything original could still be intact but I did not remove anything to be sure so that will also be left to new owner or some might want to reupholster and be surprised to see what might be underneath! I bought this Bench/Stool about 20+ years ago from"THE CLASSIC LIGHTING COMPANY" in Philadelphia. Pennsylvania. They specialize in Antique and Vintage lighting and furniture. I needed it for a spare bedroom; but never really used it because we shortly moved and I changed my decor. It has been stored in a smoke-free. Pet-free home. The carved. MAHOGANY Wood is so rich in color and elegance. The fabric is so beautiful and just begs to be touched and rub your hand over it. It is from the 1930's or early 1940's. I am not sure whether the fabric is original. Perfect for the bedroom. Living room or foyer. It measures about 26-1/2" across; 16" in depth; and about 19" high. The colors of the fabric are dark lime green and moss green. Similar to the color of these letters but darker and not as bright. The heavy. 1-1/8" ... morebraid around the edges has the colors of moss green, rich, medium brown, and beige. The Tassels are in beige, and deep dark, moss green. Just a little side note- My Italian Grandmother used to say to me"Green goes with everything; look at all the colors of the flowers and see that God put green leaves and stems with them all! This is a vintage/ Antique footstool with needlepoint design. The stool is about 14" tall and 18" wide. The floral design is in beautiful colors. The background looks pink in the picture. But to me it's more of a salmon color. This is a nice footstool, but there are some minor imperfections due to use and age. It is very sturdy though and if cleaned up, would look really nice. Interesting old antique rattan footstool and knitting/sewing basket with great red and blue colors worked into design. Lid lifts to reveal storage compartment. Lid covered in maroon cut velvet. Measures 18" tall to top of handles. 21" wide and 13" deep. Condition is probably good for something this old and fragile. I included a lot of photographs so you can see small holes in the rattan, two legs that are unraveling some; nothing majorly damaged. It is 19 inches long and 13 inches wide. The stool is about 14 inches high overall and the brass legs are each 10 inches high. The stool is very sturdy and well built. A nicely aged appearance with no structural issues whatsoever. The padded bench top is structurally sound with a thick hardwood base. The antique velvet fabric has several spots of ware. But there are no rips, tears or punctures. Measurements: The bench top measures 15" wide x 37" long x 3" thick. The Peacock iron legs measure 11" wide x 17" tall.
