At the top is a 4" diameter, rusty hardware piece for attaching the seat, with three screws, one is missing as there should be 4. Made in the early 1900's by the Henry Holtzman Sons Piano Company, which operated in Columbus Ohio between 1893 and 1959. This highly desirable company produced piano covers, stools, chairs, benches and cabinets. This piano stool is made of solid walnut with beautiful contoured parts and turned legs. The legs rest on cast/iron and glass ball and claw feet. The rotary seat makes it possible to raise and lower the seat and is functioning well. One metal leg is slightly wiggly, the flathead screw needing to be tightened. The metal has a nice patina, and the glass balls are in good, crack free condition, but dusty/dirty with normal use scratches at bottoms. The wooden base is in good condition, again, dusty/dirty. At the top is a 4" diameter, rusty hardware piece for attaching the seat, with three screws, one is missing as there should be 4. Dings, chips, etc. the surface is not absolutely smooth to the touch. Physically the stool is solid, not wobbly and will last for another life time. With all abovemenioned imperfections. It has classic glass ball& claw feet which are exquisite. The original finish of the piano stool has been largely stripped off and it is close to ready for refinishing. The wood appears to be mahogany. Please note that one of the glass balls is chipped and needs to be replaced. There are some signs of rust due to age on the swivel mechanism and claw feet as shown in the photos. One of the seams on the seat shows some movement but the seat appears to remain extremely solid. Antique Vintage Piano Organ Stool Victorian style Cast Iron Ball& Claw Feet Ornate. The stool adjusts from 19 inches to 22 inches. The top is 14 1/2" across and 1 5/8" thick. Scratches. Nicks, and some of the finish knocked off from normal use. There is a 2 inch piece of bead molding missing on the seat rim. The glass balls have flat spots worn on the bottom. The glue joints on the top of the seat are visible. The screw thread has wear, so the stool seat is a little wobbly. Very usable. The base is very solid. Very nice piano stool from Chas Parker Co. Needs to be stripped down and repainted. But there are no broken parts to it. There are a couple of nicks to the top of the seat, but most of it could be sanded out by the right hand. The claw and ball feet are all in tact and feature no breaks. The seat turns very nicely, but it does make a loud screeching noise when it turns. This Antique Wooden Piano Stool has always been in my family. My father's aunt had it in their house in Perkasie. PA. When she passed away, it was given to my father. It has to be well over 100 years old. REFINISHED. In 1979. My father"decided" to paint this stool with a trendy"antiquing effect" kit which consisted of a 2 step process. a matte finish light base coat followed by a walnut colored varnish type top coat. I know this because he made me help him paint this stool and an upright piano at the same time! no longer have the piano) I am not sure what type of wood it is. Mahogany? Walnut? I think the claw feet are iron metal. But not sure, All the glass balls are intact and they all have lots of bubbles inside the glass. Antique High-Back DARK WOOD PIANO Stool Early 1900's Glass Ball Claw Feet
This is a beautiful. Antique piano/organ high back adjustable stool with glass ball claw feet. The stool seat is adjustable from a low of 18 inches from the floor to over 21 inches. It features hand carved scrolling on the top of the seat back, which is evident because its not perfectly semetrical. From floor to top of the seat back is 36 inches and the back support is 16 inches across with an arched curve for comfort. There are decorative turns on all the legs and horizontal supports and each leg as well as the center stem are fluted. Not sure what the wood is, maybe walnut or maple, but it has grain and its stained a medium brown in color. A very nice old piece. On Sep-22-14 at 22:10:44 PDT. The base is about 17" leg to leg& 16 1/2" tall with a 10" diameter at the top. The worm gear won't turn& the cast iron top bracket is loose from the shaft causing a wobble& as in the picture. One of the 4 screw holes is broke& bracket has been moved about a 1/4 turn. The seat is 14 1/2" in diameter& 1 1/2" thick. There are 2 bad spots on the bottom of the seat at the edge as in the pictures& 1 chip on the under side of the base where the leg spindle meets the center. This came from an estate sale. Outward apperance of the stool is good& with a little TLC it would be a nice piece of furniture.

It may be older than 1900 but I am not sure so I chose to error on the side of it being newer than what it is. Judging from the aging on the old varnish it appears to be 100 years or older. Normal crazing of varnish and nicks. Scratches consistent with its age. We insure all our packages when shipping for your protection& ours. Straight from the estate. We have a gorgeous old piano/organ stool woth glass ball claw feet. This is solid. We beliebe it's oak it appears to be hand carved as well. As sturdy as the day it was made. all joints seem right. No chips in the glass ball feet. some wear markings through out. Measures 18" with seat spun all the way in. Measures 23" with the seat spun up quite a ways. What we felt safe Measure 18" diagonal leg to leg We have sold a few of these. HOLTZMAN & SON Columbus OH Small Piano Stool Glass Ball Claw Feet Antique
This is an older small-sized piano stool. Perhaps for a child? on the underside, you can read H. Holtzman& Sons, Columbus, O. It has turned spindle legs and center section and has metal claw feet, each grasping a clear glass ball. The small seat has a 10" diameter and rests up from main section of the stool by about 6" It will not screw down any closer to the main section, but will screw upward a bit. I don't know if there is a problem or if it was specifically made this way. Stool is 2 ft. tall from floor to top of seat. It is 18" in diameter at the feet. I'm not sure what type of wood this stool was made from, might be walnut. A magnet sticks to the metal claw feet. This item weighs approx. 12 lbs. prior to being carefully packed for shipment to the winner. Because of its size and weight. You are buying a Beautiful Antique Piano Stool Made By The Charles Parker Co. Meriden. Ct. U.S.A. The stool is what I believe to be all maple with cast iron claw feet with glass ball inserts. The bottom is signed Charles Parker Co. Meriden. Ct. The stool is 18 1/2" tall with the seat all the way down and 24" tall with the seat all the way up. The seat measures 14 1/2" in diameter and is in great shape(see pictures) The screw seat adjustment works great and the stool is very solid with tight joints. Two of the glass balls have a couple of chips but nothing major. Overall the stool is in awesome shape and would make a great addition to your home. Beautiful antique oak adjustable swivel piano stool by Holtzman& Sons. Columbus, Ohio. The two-part wooden seat has been re-screwed, re-glued, old damaged area filled and stained and the whole thing was set and clamped. The cast iron claw feet have been de-rusted(mostly- there is still some small rust spots in pitted areas) and coated with a thin polyurethane protectant to insure another 100+ years of enjoyment. The glass balls in the feet are almost perfect- with the tiny bubbles still clearly visible in the glass, and only a few tiny nicks. Thank you for looking!
