Here is an antique foot stool with a needlepoint top. I don't know anything about it. So I'm hoping the photos will answer most of your questions. I love the fancy legs. There is probably a name for that style. There are some scratches and dings which some Old English will help. There are areas where the thread has worn away on the needlepoint.must have been comfortable for your feet in that position. These areas have been colored the dark burgandy. The needlepoint top measures 16 inches in length by 12 inches in width. The stool stands 11 inches tall. If you don't like the show of"age" you could restore it to it's original beauty, although I like it just the way it is. Tracking will be included in the s/h fees. Antique Leather Topped Oak Stool
This is an Antique Adjustable Leather Top Oak Stool. The stool has cast iron hardware that as found has a light patina of rust. The seat swivels freely in a circle. If you hold the swivel piece and turn the seat you height of the stool can be adjusted. My estimate is that the total height adjustment in no more than about 2 or 3 inches. With the stool adjusted to the minimum height it is about 32" to the top of the domed leather seat cover. The stool appears to be quite old. But there is no maker's identification. We purchased it as an estate item and we were not able to find out the age, the maker, or where it was made. Condition: PLEASE NOTE: I recently learned that the stool also had a circular foot rest that. As found, is missing. As found. The leather seat is split and cracked as seen. The leather cover appears not the be the ... moreoriginal cover. When viewed from the bottom through the wooden frame and metalwork you can see the remnants of what is probably the original caned seat. Also as found. It appears that a number of repairs were made to the attachments of the center cross bracing to the legs. There are several unused holes, several attachments appear to be via wood screws, while another has a crude repair with a nut and bolt protruding from the hole. Despite these repairs, the stool sits solidly and it in good usable condition. There are also some scuffs and scrapes on the finish on the legs in a number of places. This is a very nice looking old stool. It is being offered as found/ as described/ as seen with respect to the condition issues noted above. Antique Charles Parker Co., Meridian CT Piano Stool
Antique piano stool in walnut manufatured by Charles Parker& Company. Meriden. CT. This stool is in excellent condition with glass balls in the claws. There are what appears to be small flecks of white paint on the seat. The seat swivels to adjust height. It is 14 1/4" wide, 19 1/2" tall& a foot at the claws. We are unsure if this has been refinished but it may very well be. Strong& sturdy. Comes from a smoke free home. Not sure of the date of manufacture but here is some history of the company: Charles Parker and his younger brother. Opened their first manufacturing factory in Meriden in 1832. Over the years they manufactured a wide variety of productss from steam engines, train wheels and printing presses to piano stools. During the Civil War, Parker's Meriden Machine Company was under Union contract to produce ... more10,000 repeating rifles and 15,000 Springfield rifles. Parker began producing his own shotgun, referred to as The Gun of 1866âe. 7 1/2" high x 12" x 8" Hand made from scrap wood. Stained, upholstered in a brown fern fabric. It wasn't until I was cleaning the footstool that I discovered the Waltke box end as the stool's base. Deceased, was the founder of the firm of William Waltke& Company, soap manufacturers and promoters of one of the extensive and important productive industries of St. Louis. He was born in Germany, November 22, 1824, and was educated in the schools of his native country. He served his time in the German army during the war of 1848. Following this, or in the year 1849, he came to the United States, attracted by the opportunities he believed he might enjoy on this side of the Atlantic. He made his way at once to St. Louis and here entered the employ ... moreof Becker& Brand, soap manufacturers, with whom he remained for five or six years. In these years a number of small renderers ran wagons throughout the city, gathering fats from the family garbage and paying for the same by exchange of soap. Hi. Up for bids is a black american walnut stunning church pew that was hand carved by the nuns in the early 1900's in a convent from Ohio. Later the pews were sent to a church in Mercersburg. Pa. These were originally 12 foot long but have been resized to 4 foot. There are carvings on both ends that are magnificent! Museum quality! There are minor flaws on the pews but these are 100 years old. The pew messures 36' tall and 4 ft wide. Please contact with any questions. This piece appears to be a transition piece from eastlake to mission which dates to between 1890 and 1910. The original finish really shows off the beautiful grain you get from quartersawn oak. The bench has a very clean red velvet seat. This bench is in excellent condition with no damage of any kind. Really great condition considering it is over 100 years old. Primitive antique foot stool wooden bench 2 layers of vintage textile cover
Cutest little footstool! All wood with chippy paint and a cloth-covered top with two layers of textiles that appear to be original. The seat pad is detached. See the pictures for the best description of the fabric- its a dusty rose color with a woven floral pattern, feels like a cotton texture and there are no rips but it shows its age. There is another layer of fabric underneath this covering but I did not remove the top cover to investigate. Both textiles are held in place with small tacks and are intact enough to clean up or add your own layer of history- perhaps a needlepoint. No weird/bad smell. Dimensions are 14" long by 10" wide by 7" tall at the frame plus about 3/4" for the pad. The joints and nails are in good condition but I would not plan to use this as a step stool(unless by a child) I did not find any splits ... moreor cracks in the wood frame and all of the nail heads look alike(a little rusty) so no signs of modern repairs. Just an adorable little ole thing! Very charming and functional; picture this holding your stack of books next to a favorite reading chair. Great primitive decorator piece!
