Made in the early 1900's by the Henry Holtzman Sons Piano Company, which operated in Columbus Ohio between 1893 and 1959. This highly desirable company produced piano covers, stools, chairs, benches and cabinets. This piano stool is made of solid walnut with beautiful contoured parts and turned legs. The legs rest on cast/iron and glass ball and claw feet. The rotary seat makes it possible to raise and lower the seat and is functioning well. The cast iron bracked is marked Holtzman& Sons Columbus and the center wood is stamped NUT.PAT. JUNE 18 08. The stool has not been restored. And shows wear to the finish and some nicks and scratches commensurate with its age. The metal has a nice patina, and the glass balls are in good, crack free condition, but dusty/dirty with normal use scratches at bottoms. The wooden base is in good condition, again, dusty/dirty. At the top is a 4" diameter, rusty hardware piece for attaching the seat, with three screws, one is missing as there should be 4. They look like bird claws. the restored parts is the top the base that the legs attach to is new wood as well as the round seat, but the work done to this looks amazing. Cleaned out an old furnitue store and found this. Someone used it for a plant stand so there is a water stain on the seat. Claws and balls are in good condition as is the rest of the stool. Spins nicely and is very sturdy. Probably around the late 1800's or early 1900's. Don't know the maker. Ships to Continental US only and will ship UPS. Mad by Mahawk. The color is like very dark chocolate, almost black. The Mahawk product are carried in high end paint stores. There is some damage to the glass balls. Nevertheless all feed are sturdy and fully functional. The metal Claw Feet were cleaned, primed, and brass painted. The are a number scratches. Dings, chips, etc. the surface is not absolutely smooth to the touch. Physically the stool is solid, not wobbly and will last for another life time. With all abovemenioned imperfections. The stool Is well constructed(weighs over 15 lbs) and stands 18-1/2" tall in the down position. It raises to over 23" The seat diameter is about 14-1/2" The condition is very very good. There is a split in the top where the seat material was originally fused together as made(not unusual) But it is very solid and still very attractive. The legs and lower supports are spindled with nice wood turnings. The glass balls are held in mildly ornate cast iron claw holders. Overall an excellently built and very nicely finished piece. From what I've learned, the company started making piano/organ stools in the late 1800's thru the early 1900's. It swivels up and down. At its' lowest height it measures 19 1/2" tall.14 1/2" wide(seat top) IF you screw the height up it measures at LEAST 24" It's NOT perfect.looks like it had a split to the bottom that was repaired AND it looks like one spindle was re-glued and re-nailed at some point. The top seat shows much wear. You could choose to strip it& re-stain the original wood OR leave it as is. HOWEVER.it's definitely an ORIGINAL piece and well worth the effort. It has classic glass ball& claw feet which are exquisite. The original finish of the piano stool has been largely stripped off and it is close to ready for refinishing. The wood appears to be mahogany. Please note that one of the glass balls is chipped and needs to be replaced. There are some signs of rust due to age on the swivel mechanism and claw feet as shown in the photos. One of the seams on the seat shows some movement but the seat appears to remain extremely solid. Nicks, and some of the finish knocked off from normal use. There is a 2 inch piece of bead molding missing on the seat rim. The glass balls have flat spots worn on the bottom. The glue joints on the top of the seat are visible. The screw thread has wear, so the stool seat is a little wobbly. Very usable. The base is very solid. It measures 14" in diameter at the swivel seat and adjusts to 20"25" tall. It features a ribbed outer rim on the seat. Turned legs, stretchers and center post, with four splayed legs showing 4-claw metal feet with glass balls. The stool is in good condition. It is tight and structurally sound in every respect. The stool itself is wooden and the 4 claw feet are made of cast iron with glass balls on the inside. I have no idea on the age other than it is very old. I have it listed as between 1900 and 1950. Antique High-Back Piano Stool Early 1900's Glass Ball Claw Feet Vintage
This is a beautiful. Antique piano/organ high back adjustable stool with glass ball claw feet. The stool seat is adjustable from a low of 18 inches from the floor to over 21 inches. It features hand carved scrolling on the top of the seat back, which is evident because its not perfectly semetrical. From floor to top of the seat back is 36 inches and the back support is 16 inches across with an arched curve for comfort. There are decorative turns on all the legs and horizontal supports and each leg as well as the center stem are fluted. Not sure what the wood is, maybe walnut or maple, but it has grain and its stained a medium brown in color. A very nice old piece.

Vintage 1920s Turn Screw Piano Stool W/ Iron Claw Glass Ball Feet Chas Parker Co
Very nice piano stool from Chas Parker Co. Needs to be stripped down and repainted. But there are no broken parts to it. There are a couple of nicks to the top of the seat, but most of it could be sanded out by the right hand. The claw and ball feet are all in tact and feature no breaks. The seat turns very nicely, but it does make a loud screeching noise when it turns. Nothing a bit of WD40 couldn't fix, I would imagine. 19" tall with seat fully down 13" wide from foot to foot 14" wide seat Claws are 3 1/4" tall

There are some slight separation in the cross pieces at the bottom that support the legs and still very sturdy. General use wear to the stools wood expected for an antique piece of used furniture. The seat elevates smoothly. 1 claw foot has a tiny bit of damage by the screw that holds the claw foot in place. It does not impact the chairs stability.
