The Ewer/Pitcher is marked Dresden SEMI-PORCELAIN and the basin is not marked. I do not believe that this is an original pair but both are actually old. The pitcher has embossed designs in the middle part and by the top. See images. It has a muted bouquet of flowers that I cannot determine. The pitcher also has some crazing but no cracks that I can see. There's also a muted bouquet inside the snout. The basin looks like it was used and there are some water marks inside the basin. It is also embossed on top and it is not marked. The floral design cloub be cherry blossom. I cannot determine if the florals on both pieces are decals of handpainted since they are both muted. The basin also has cracks inside, by the lip and outside(I found 2) but its not a cvrack the goes through the ceramic. The basin is a very thick ceramic almost like an Ironstone piece. It measures 17" in diameter and about 5.25" high. The Pitcher measures 11.875" High, 10" by 8.5" NOTE: If you purchase this item. Please wait for my invoice since I will need to add the insurance(they do not automatically calculate) This is a very heavy item, an oversized package and will need to be double boxed. Vintage Antique? 14" Wash Basin Bowl Unknown Crown Mark
This is a very nice old ceramic wash basin with a yellow and maroon( stenciled bird by a basket of flowers. It has purple trim around the edge. There is a mark on the bottom that I could not identify(see pic) It has a word or words at the top and what appears to be a crown below it and an oval surrounding everything. If you can identify the mark. Please let me know what it is. This is a large 14 1/8" diameter bowl that is quite heavy. The size and weight account for the higher shipping costs. There is a single large chip on the underside of the edge that is about 1 3/4" wide including the narrow tapering off of the chip. There is also a 2nd shallow and very small 1/8" chip on the underside edge that I don't believe is significant. Antique White Ironstone Wash Basin and Soap Dish From Ironstone China Chamber Set Here is an antique white ironstone china wash basin and soap dish from a Victorian era bowl and pitcher chamber set. It is heavy ironstone. Both pieces marked"Ironstone China Warranted" in blue underneath. The blue maker's mark also features two standing lions. See the photos for a closeup look. The edges of the bowl are scalloped. The bowl measures a little over 10" diameter and 3 1/2" tall. The soap dish is 3 1/2" by 5 1/4" by 1" The glaze has crackled with age and the body is stained. Antique Floral Transferware Wash Basin Bowl Large approx 17" diameter
Although I do not know the age of this wash basin bowl. It has been in the family for decades and I know it is vintage. Probably anitque. Measures approx 16 3/4" in diameter x 5 1/4" high. It has crazing throughout. A fine hairline surface crack. It also has what might be considered a chip but actually appears to more of a wearing off of the embossed pattern on the top of the rim. The edge itself is not chipped. It's a lovely pattern and a lovely piece. Thanks for looking!

Original Antique Wash Bowl Basin Blue White Hand Made North Carolina Family Item
This antique wash bowl has been sitting on my mother in law's antique wood washstand in her smoke/pet free home for the past 60 years. In attempting to date this antique. I know my mother in law was born in 1928 and the bowl was passed down to her from her mother. We don't know how much further the bowl dates back, so a conservative estimate would be around the turn of the century. The bowl measures 12.25" across top. 5.5" across base and 3.25" high. There are no company markings on the bowl and it appears hand made. You can see in one of the photos how the blue coloring ran down the side in one section. Also, you can feel the texture difference where the white ran down the sides in some places. Although the decorative blue and white front and inside of bowl are beautiful, when you look at the underside it looks like ... morethe person who made this bowl was a little"messy" I don't know enough about antiques to use a more professional exact term. There are no chips or scratches to the entire blue inside and rim. There are a couple chips on the rim of the base. This bowl weighs nearly 4 lbs before wrapping. Antique White Ironstone Lily Valley Wash Bowl English Basin Anthony Shaw 1860s
Absolutely beautiful. Big and detailed English wash bowl or basin, excellent high relief Lily of the Valley by Anthony Shaw, Burslem, and backstamped accordingly, Measures 14" in diameter. 4-1/2" high Small area of toning in the inside bottom. About the size of a quarter, faint. We did not try to clean but you could of course. Some crazing which is not unexpected in antique ironstone of the era Ca. 1860s. Staffordshire, England based on backstamp. Note that this was a quick stamping job- almost a double image and a thin black line from"Burslem" which is not a hairline but ink. Other than what's mentioned. No cracks, chips, missing glaze, other staining, hairlines, flakes, repairs, etc. Typical bluish cast to the glaze which is bright and shiny. Hard to photograph without getting some glare and light. And details were ... moredifficult as well. Photo 3 is converted to black and white to bring it out better in a photograph. Excellent size. For display or use. We serve steamed shrimp or salads in ours and use for centerpiece at holiday times with floating candles, pine cones, Easter eggs, gourds, etc. Perfectly food safe, but avoid the dish washer. Ships well protected. No frills, but safe and secure, at 8 lbs. double boxed. Your choice of carrier- FedEx often works the best but parcel may be a better option depending on your location. Warranted(something) Porcelain. Sorry, couldn't make out the word in front of"Porcelain. Given its size. I imagine this bowl was used along with a pitcher as a wash basin in pre-plumbing days. It was made by C.P. Co. also known as Crown Potteries of Evansville, Indiana. Given its age, it's in great condition. It does have a number of brown spots, and two teeny-tiny little nicks on the underside of the top edge. The bottom has some very fine crackling, but you have to look close and hard to see it. This a a grouping of 3 pottery pieces that make up a beautiful Large Water Pitcher Wash Basin Bowl set. The three pieces match well. All are white with rubbed gold accent. And all are signed. The pitcher is marked on the base with the Vodrey& Brothers label from Liverpool, Ohio. Sons of a Staffordshire potter, they produced white ware table and toilet ware from 1876-1926. The pitcher is in very nice condition. There is some crazing, a few small signs of silt(see photos) There are at the base rim 3 thin flake/chips. No cracks, that I could see. The large Bowl and Jar/Vase are marked St Paul on the base. I could not find anything on this mark, so I can not say about the age. But both have crazing, so they appear to be old to me. It is made by the Eturia Mellor& Co. The circular ETRURIA MELLOR& CO hallmark is marked on the bottom of both the bowl and chamber pot. I do not know if this is china or porcelain. I believe this is from the late turn of the 20th century. This is a very white color with beautiful orchid-like flowers in shades of pink with yellow centers.nice green leaves on stems with buds. There is a gold-like trim around the edges of both pieces that does show some thinning- although perhaps made to look just like it is. The wash basin is very large measuring about 16 1/2" in diameter and 5" high. The chamber pot measures about 8 1/2" in diameter with ... morean additional 2" for the handle and 7 1/2" high that includes the handle on the chamber pot. This is in wonderful age-appropriate condition with only a very few issues that I can see. There is some crazing on both pieces. A very few flea bites on the inside bottom of the cover and a hairline crack on the top of the chamber pot near the handle. The basin is smooth all around with only three small chips on the underside of the rim(but those may even be firing flaws)anyway not a distraction. This has been in my husband's family all these years.we have had it in our possession now for about 20 years. I do not want to sell the pieces separately. Antique 1800s Alfred Meakin England Wash Basin Bowl Floral Decor
Beautiful Antique Alfred Meakin wash basin bowl. It is gorgeous with pretty pink and yellow flowers and green and brown leaves with gold gilt trim. Quite heavy. It measures 15 1/2" wide and appx 5" tall and weighs appx 5-8 lbs. It is marked on bottom as Meakin Royal Semi Porcelain England. It has a flea bite under the rim(as pictured) and inside with a few discolored spots due to age. It shows crazing as well. Overall such a lovely multi purpose bowl for today. All of my items are Antiques or Vintage items unless otherwise stated. They may show a tiny speck or change of original color due to age or use. Items may also show straw or manufacturing flaws. Antique S. Hancock& Sons Countess Porcelain Wash Basin Bowl ca. 1900s. This bowl is in very nice condition. It was recently acquired at an Estate Sale from a couple who were clearly collectors of fine antiques. The inside edge is decorated with stencils of yellow and red roses connected by a red ribbon with two bows. The outer edge is decorated more simply. With roses in the four directions. The rim is decorated with a multitude of small red hearts. The original gold trim has been worn away and is no longer visible. The gold trim on the foot of the bowl is still clearly visible. The bowl measures16.5" in diameter. And about 5.25" in height. It shows a few signs of very minor wear, and there is just one small hairline crack about 1.5" in length, on the rim near one of the red bows(see last two photos) Otherwise, it is in ... morefine shape. The base of the bowl is marked"COUNTESS{Crown emblem} IVORY PORCELAINE S.H& Sons ENGLAND" It is also stamped with a serial number"3842B 13" in red ink. The exact age of the item is not known. Description This is one of my most exciting antique/vintage finds ever! Up for auction is a breathtaking decorative baby wash basin made in England made in the early 1900's. This was purchased at an estate sale of an elderly gentleman. The bowl appears to be made of ironstone and decorated with various scenes of a mother with children and father with children. The colors inside and out of the bowl are still very vivid and beautiful and is trimmed in gold. Which is somewhat waning. The old bowl has light crazing and chips which can be viewed in pictures below. There are a couple of cracks from age as well- please view all pictures carefully.
