RARE HUGE 1800s 12 INCH WHITE & MOCHA BAND BOWL YELLOW WARE MINT
This is a large bowl in an attractive hard to find pattern. This is a unique pattern. The potter applied four raised bands, two wide white and two mocha. This is an Ohio Valley piece of yellow ware dating to the 1870s to 1880s. During this period there were hundreds of potters along the Ohio River. Each trying to survive and create a market for their wares, hence the unique band pattern in this set. Measuring 12 ½” in diameter by 6” high. This is an attractive bowl in this unique pattern. The bowl has a pronounced rounded rim and foot. The rounded rim was a feature added to bowls to make it easier to pick them up without the bowl slipping out of your hands. There are no chips. Cracks, stains or repairs. This is an opportunity to add a rarely found and unique yellow ware bowl to your collection.
