The pitcher has six lobed ribs or panels. It measures 4" 10.2 cm) in height and 2 3/4" 7 cm) in diameter at the widest point. Most of these were done in earthenware or a heavy Ironstone. This one is a thin porcelain and you can see light shining through it when held up to a lamp. There is a little purple luster trim which was on the green panels. But is worn. There is a luster stripe on the knobbed bracket handle. It also has the early prominent spout. There is a quarter inch thin, faint,U" shaped line on the inside rim of the pitcher, that does not go through to the outside. This line can be seen in the two pictures of the top in this listing. But I have been unable to identify. I think that it was a Sheffield England product probably 1900. The bowl has lots of paint specks in the glaze, and mold marks, typical of gaudy pottery, but there are no cracks or chips. 19th C Gaudy Dutch Or Gaudy Welsh Shallow Bowl
Nice unmarked Good looking piece in good condition. I believe it is of a European origin It is nice size; about. 6 inches and shallow bowl shape. Nice hard to find bowl in the Gaudy Welsh/ Gaudy Dutch pattern. Pretty floral design with purple rims. Blue, purple, red and green floral pattern. White background. Lustre decoration was a specialty. from 1859 to 1942. Please view my other auctions for more. Please email me with any questions. I will gladly help. Antique Gaudy Welsh Fruit Bowl circa early 1900's
Item: Early 1900's Gaudy Welsh Fruit Bowl. 7 inch diameter. This bowl is so odd looking. That it actually has its own beauty. You are sure to get comments about this antique fruit bowl. It is VERY colorful with either gold leaf or gold paint. I cannot tell either of which. I think it would make a nice planter too. But its too eye catching for that. Condition: Good Condition except the tip of one of the handles had broken off some time ago and it was glued back on. Hence the low asking price. Still. Its barely noticeble. This bowl is ready for use or display. Info: Sold as is. No returns. I really hate to see this bowl go, but I have to make room for other antiques. I've used this for get togethers with friends filling it with edibles and ALWAYS got comments on it.
