Offered is a royal nut bowl that is hand painted with nasturtiums inside and out. It was made circa 1910 and possibly decorated at the Pickard Studios. The nut bowl is 8 1/4" across and 3" high. A squat gourd shaped open bowl with scalloped mouth and four stubby feet. Hand painted with soft green background inside and out. On the outside. The front and back have lovely clusters of nasturtiums in peach, yellow, rose and orange with trailing vines and large round leaves. Inside the bowl is a large cluster of flowers and leaves at the bottom, trailing up both sides. Very nice painting with great detail and shading. Splashed gold on feet and scalloped gold trim around the mouth and rim. The bowl has a maker's mark that I cannot read and do not recognize. It may be Limoges or German. I believe the bowl was decorated at the Pickard ... moreStudios. It is shown in Collector's Encyclopedia of Pickard China by Alan B. Reed. Pg 132, with a different décor. Each one standing on 4 curved and scrolled feet. The set is quite fancy in soft muted colors with gilding, embossed designs within the porcelain and hand painted roses. These are marked IPF(Imperial Porcelain Factory) Germany. The marks are mostly worn, but at least legible enough to read on two pieces. The set is in otherwise remarkably perfect condition with no damage and very little to no wear. It was no doubt treasured ... moreand kept safe in a china cabinet for most of its lifetime. This was from one of the best estate sales I was fortunate enough to attend in 2010. I have kept it since then but now it is time to pass it on. This pretty pearlescent folded side handled nut bowl dates to between 1889 and 1918. It is from O. E. G. Royal Austria ~ Oscar& Edgar Gutherz. 1915 WEIMAR GERMANY Porcelain Candy Nut Dish Reticulated Handles SIGNED DATED
Found at an estate auction: here is an utterly charming little dish that celebrates its 100th birthday this year. This small oblong dish for candy or nuts or trinkets was made in WEIMAR GERMANY in 1915. The hand painted floral design in the interior of the dish features sprays of roses on a delicate pale green ground fading into white. There is gold trim around the edges. And thicker gold trim around the reticulated handles at either end. The artist has signed his/her name within the floral design: R. K. Koltey. What's more. The artist has also exactly dated the piece on the back side: May 10, 1915. Green shield mark reads WEIMAR GERMANY. Condition is excellent. I see no flaws: no cracks or chips or crazing, no loss to the gilded trim. Quite amazing for its age. Examine all photos. 7-1/2" long. 3-7/8" wide, 1-1/2" tall

Antique Porcelain MASTER NUT SERVING BOWL Bavaria Description Late 19th/early 20th century"china painting on porcelain" master nut bowl. Although the mark is covered up by the brown painting on the bottom. I am reasonably certain that the porcelain black is Bavaria made. Stands on four molded feet with roll over scalloped edge around the top. I love that the artist took the time and effort to paint the inside with a decorative motif as well. The colors are browns, greens, blues, yellows and white. The mold form is embossed around the feet. It does not have a gold rim, making it more appropriate for casual entertaining. The last photo shows a set of 6 nut plates/bowls that are from the same estate and for sale in another listing. They are compatible, but not identical. This listing is for the bowl ONLY. SIZE: Approximately 7 1/2" ... morex 6 3/4" x 3 7/8" deep. MARKS: Not visible. Likely one of the late 19th century Bavarian makers. CONDITION: Antique item. No significant problems. I see a few very minor surface marks deep in the interior and a scratch on the underside near the center. Since it is an old piece.
