I have for you this evening a lovely piece of porcelain purchased a blank by a maker in Austria and purchased. Decorated and retailed by PH Leonard under the Vienna austria mark used by the retailer in the late 19th century. This piece is made of fine grade porcelain and is cast into a unique oval shape mold with embossed lattice style molding around the rim area. This piece has been glazed in a pale green finish and has been entirely hand painted with what I believe are wild roses in pinks and purple tones along with branches and foliage. I will tell you that I know very little about the science of Botany so please see my pictures to judge the type of flower painted on this piece for yourself. The piece is nocely shaped and has a gilded rim and will make a gorgeous addition to your collection. Antique Morimura Handled Bowl, c. 1910-11
This small round bowl by Morimura Bros. Noritake) has applied rectangular handles and a beautiful floral band around the outside. The design is made of yellow& blue flowers with green leaves. In between gold intertwined lilies. This band is in perfect condition, but all the rest of the gold trim is worn. The marking"M" in a wreath and the words"Hand Painted, Nippon" was used from 1911-1921. However, the marking in red was only used between 1910-1911. The bowl has no defects, other than the worn gold. It measures 5-1/4" across and 2" high, not counting the handles.

Vintage Hand Painted Serving Dish/Bowl Austria 11" Gold Trim
Vintage Handmade Large Serving Dish/Bowl made in Austria. A rose motif with gold trim. There is a# 990 imprinted on the bottom of the bowl. The bowl is 10 3/4" in diameter at the widest points. And stands 3" high. The base is 5 1"4" in diameter. There are plenty of hand painted roses with shades of pink on the bowl. There are round dots of gold about every 2 1/2" around the rim and gold is also used to trim the top edge of the rim. There are no cracks, chips, or crazing on the dish. There are a few little dimples that are manufacturing defects in the bottom of the bowl, but nothing that is noticeable or uncommon for a porcelain dish of this age. A close up in Picture#5 shows one of the dimples, it looks really deep in the picture, but they show as little black dots on the actual dish. The hand painted flowers look ... moregreat and the gold trim is complete and scratch free. The pink shadowing and the hand painted detail on the roses and lily of the valley make this a beautiful piece.

Vintage German Porcelain 11" Scalloped Bowl Floral Design Gilt Trim for Display
Offered is a find from a Boston area estate sale. This is a vintage German porcelain bowl that measures 11" in diameter at the widest point and which is approx. 2-3/4" high. The center floral design looks like transfer which was then embellished with white hand painted highlights. The green swirled edges are hand painted and there is a little paint loss in spots. The scalloped edge has been trimmed with gold gilt. The bowl weighs nearly 2 lbs. The bowl will display nicely in spite of some wear to the gilt. A few scratches on top, and cracks on the underside. Light crazing appears confined to the underside. I am not familiar with the green maker's mark which is an eagle sitting atop the letters G.T. or C.T. The underside is stamped GERMANY and there is a red inked number 20367 and the letters BB are impressed. Small brown stains ... morefrom age are scattered on the underside, please see last photo. I have for you this evening a beautiful example of porcelain that was fired at the kilns of Noritake during the very early Nippon era around 1880. This piece is made of the very highest grade porcelain being made in Japan at the time and the mold design is classic scalloped rim with gold gilt beading. This piece was made for the domestic market and has been beautifully glazed with a stunning red and heavily accented with gold gilt. The central motif are pink roses with foliage. The Voodoo Estate! This type of call usually gets us excited as they are a treasure trove. Located here in Florida. There was no electricity or running water so we rigged our own lighting and in we went. If you have ever seen the Adams Family you will have some idea as to what we were greeted with! Then the attorney handling the liquidation gave us some background. The estate had belonged to an alleged powerful Voodoo Priestess/JooJoo Exorcist. Grand daughter of a Marie Laveau, and favored daughter of a Marie Glapion. This did not have much impact on us other ... morethan to cause an uneasy feeling when in the mansion so we declined to spend the night while inventorying. Deciding to stay in a hotel to return in the morning. Our research has shown that this woman was what she claimed and was indeed descended from a long line of well known Vodoun family originating in New Orleans in the early 1800's. We were pretty unnerved by this until we discovered they were also devout Catholics! Although I have to admit this was unlike any Catholic home we have ever been in and some of the items found inside were a little more than disturbing. There was no feeling of dread or unwelcome in the mansion. However there was quite a bit of contraband and other items we can or will not sell here. This is one of a few pieces from this estate we will be listing this week. So check our other listings! We will. Upon the new guardian's request, issue a named Letter of Authenticity with each piece from this estate, complying with the terms set forth to us by the estate's attorney. 18th Century 11 1/2" Spanish Talavera Majolica Earthenware Bowl Charger
I have for you consideration an 18th Century Spanish Talavera Majolica Earthenware Bowl. This is a very good example of an early Talavera earthenware bowl with a ruffled edge. The interior surfaces are glazed in shades of green. Yellow gold, ochre, accents of indigo and manganese brown which outlines the all over creamy white background. This bowl is a bit oval in shape. Measuring just over 11 1/2" at it's widest, 2 1/2" deep. Majolica and fiance were made at Talavera de la Reine and at neighboring Puente del Arzobizso in Castile from the early 16th Century. No factory marks were ever used. They developed an original style of painting. The colors were dominated by powerful green. Canary yellow and a thick orange and to some extent by a heavy blue. Horseman, hunting scenes, building, trees, animals, birds, figures and coats of ... morearms were much favored motifs. This bowl is in remarkable shape for it's age. Does show some firing flaws and wear from age. The only visible damage is the hairline that is pictured and the small piece that is missing at the edge hairline. This hairline is very tight and bowl when tapped has that high pitched ring. Please view the 12 photos provided for a closer look as they serve as the most important part of the description.
