The bowl is in excellent condition for its age with no chips. But it does have a crack that runs from the top of the rim to the base of the bowl. It is a little hard to see, but can be seen in pictures#1 and 4. The bowl measures 8 inches across the top and 5.5 inches across the bottom. For your consideration. A Gorgeous antigue spongeware bowl that I found at an Antique shop owner's estate sale! It is a lovely yellow and brown spongeware in very good condition. It comes with a lid and measures 7" across top(diameter)and it measures 3" deep(without lid) There is grazing inside according to age, there are no chips at all, and the lid is perfect! There is a hairline crack inside that I tried to capture, it does not take away from it's beauty and I mention it only for authentication. It has a clear glaze. There are no markings. ANTIQUE AMERICAN BLUE BANDED YELLOW WARE POTTERY MIXING BOWL ~ 9”
This is an antique American yellowware pottery mixing bowl. It is approximately 5” in height and has a diameter of 9” It weighs approximately 3 lbs. The bowl is bottom impressed with“104/ and“U.S.A. This type of bowl was mold produced and came in various sizes. The rim collar underside and the rim surface were purposefully left unglazed. This is because the bowls were fired in kilns stacked together and this kept them from sticking together. Bowls like this were made c. 1880-1930 in the northeast and midwest especially in New Jersey and Ohio. This bowl has a hexagonal base with mold embossed decoration on the sides and rim collar. It also has 3 bands of blue slip decoration around the body which is glazed with an alkaline clear glaze. This particular bowl is an older bowl and was used. It has the ubiquitous crazing to the clear glaze that ... moreyou would look for in an older piece and age toning or mottling(see photos) Some of the glaze crazing resembles cracking. However. This bowl is overall good original condition given its’ age and the fact that it is a functional piece that was used. It has no cracks or repairs and displays well. This is a nice old item. Inc or RRP Co of Roseville, Ohio. These vintage yellow ware bowls feature a white band with deep red thin bands on each side. This pattern is 391 and is impressed on each of the bowls. The first bowl is 9" in diameter and stands 4 3/4" tall. It has a very tight hairline crack on the interior but it does proceed to the bottom of the bowl. The next bowl measures 7" in diameter and stands 4" tall. No damage is noted. The last bowl measures 6" in diameter and stands 3 3/4" high. It has a little chip on the rim. Antique vintage yellow ware stoneware pottery bowl deep cereal mixing mid size
An antique yellow ware bowl we believe dates to the late 19th- early 20th century. It is not marked. It measures approximately 7" across and stands just shy of 3.25" tall. Sort of big for a cereal bowl. But not quite mixing bowl size… right in between. There is a chip to the rim measuring less than a quarter inch in width, but it is under the glaze so we think it probably occurred in manufacturing(please see photos) There are some other imperfections such as allover crazing, some"pitting" or small dings/glaze skips/brown spots of discoloration, some of which we are unclear on whether they are manufacturing flaws or occurred later. Yellow ware yellowware - large bowl Bands - antique pottery 19th c
Here is an antique yellow ware bowl that measures 11-1/4" wide at top. Just over 5" high, and 5-3/4" wide at bottom. There is a hairline crack. As can be seen in photos, and also a chip to bottom rim. On lower band there appears a small part missing(see last photo) Craquelure as well.
