I have for auction this evening a very unique and rare bowl made and marked from the factories of Count Thun during the 1880's and the painted at the studios of Bawo& Dotter while baring the mark of PH Leonard so this was made and created and decorated by some of the top producers and decorators of porcelain of that time and indeed of any time. This bowl is made of heavy yet delicate and very fine porcelain and is cast in a nice scalled rim. This gorgeous hand painted and artist signed"H. Laffler" bowl is decorated with Fucsia flowers trimmed in gold gilt. The rim of this bowl is heavily gilded in nice quality gold and chased in black that is a signature design element for Bawo& Dotter and can be found on their highest quality pieces. PH Leonard Vienna Austria hand painted wild rose 11.5" display bowl circa 1890's
I have for you this evening a lovely piece of porcelain purchased a blank by a maker in Austria and purchased. Decorated and retailed by PH Leonard under the Vienna austria mark used by the retailer in the late 19th century. This piece is made of fine grade porcelain and is cast into a unique oval shape mold with embossed lattice style molding around the rim area. This piece has been glazed in a pale green finish and has been entirely hand painted with what I believe are wild roses in pinks and purple tones along with branches and foliage. I will tell you that I know very little about the science of Botany so please see my pictures to judge the type of flower painted on this piece for yourself. The piece is nocely shaped and has a gilded rim and will make a gorgeous addition to your collection. Bawo Dotter PH Leonard Vienna Austria 9" footed lobed porcelain bowl Pinecones
I have for your this evening a very fine example of Vienna Austria porcelain from the factories of Count Thun in the late 19th to very early twentieth centuries and decorated at the studios of PH Leonard or possibly Bawo and Dotter. The porcelain is very fine yuality and the mold shape is a callsic quad lobed dish with claw style feet thickly gilded in gold. I have handled several of these bowls by this maker but never one so finely decorated as this. The hand painted pinecone decoration is just goegeous and the use of color is playful and stunning against the dark fall color palatte in the glaze. The inside is a peachy pinkish color that just sete the piece off nicely. This will make a gorgeous addition to your collection and will look amazing in your favorite cabinet or at table.
