It has the design of fish, lobster and whirlpool as well as silver and blue waves in a gold rim design. The box is kiri(paulownia) wood. Tantansai has signed under the lid of the box from(r to l) Kyuho zo, Nami Shippo Chawan, Konomi, Konnichishu and his cipher" The bottom of the box is signed by the potter: Kyuho zo and his stamp" Kyuho has also used his incised stamp on the inside of the foot of the bowl. There are 2 very tight hairlines that were difficult to photograph. One is approx. 7/8" inside the bowl and extends over the lip and 3/8" outside. The other is approx. 3/4" inside the bowl and extends over the lip and 1/8" outside. These hairlines are very tight and there are no chips associated with them. There is also one very tiny natural kiln glaze pop inside the bottom of the bowl. NOTE- The bowl is perfectly fine to make and drink tea from. The colors are very nice and the overall condition shows minimal use wear. The bowl has been checked with a black light and there are no visible repairs. Note- There are some light reflection in some of the pictures. The glaze is perfectly even and this is only a reflection. Beautiful German vintage lobster bowl c1880 that is in very good condition. It is a transfer print in lovely colors and soft pink with no chips. Cracks or repairs. There is the slightest bit of wear on the top of the gold lobster handle, but the gold is harder to find than the red lobster handles. This plate looks just like the ones done by Joseph Schatner(sp? but does not have the J.S. initials on the back. Will accept PayPal for payment and will ship to the lower continental U.S. only. VINTAGE Hand Painted German Ceramic Lobster Serving Bowl - BEAUTIFUL No Reserve
My wife and I bought this exquisite vintage hand-painted German lobster bowl about 30 years ago. As you can see by the dealer tag that is still tied on it. We never used the bowl. If fact it has sat in my office/ computer room closet since we bought it. The tag says"Vintage German Lobster Bowl $230.00" I believe we talked them down to just under $200 at the time. It is a big bowl, measuring 14" X 10 1/2 inches from side to side. The two wells, each designed to carry a boiled lobster, I would imagine, is very deep and has hand-painted flowers with raised GOLD pedals and a heavily gold colored lobster-shaped handle. The edges are nicely scalloped and without any chips at all. On the bottom is a number 209. I suspect it it a pattern number or perhaps a date number. I believe this dates to the first quarter of the 20th century ... moreif not a bit earlier. My wife and I always set an elegant table on those special family occasions, yet somehow we never got around to using this great decorative and functional serving bowl. There is a hairline crack visible in the last 2 PICS but they are not easy to see or find without my close-up camera and they do not diminish the structural or visual beauty and function of the piece at all. I am offering this at a low $9.00 opening bid and no reserve. Not that I want to take a loss on it,but that since we are now downsizing our home(kids are married and uninterested) it is time to let someone enjoy its beauty. Good luck.

The bottom is simply marked Germany and the bowl dates way back to the 1890s or earlier. THIS IS AN INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL AND RARE LOBSTER DOUBLE BOWL FROM GERMANY. IT IS HAND PAINTED PORCELAIN WITH LARGE ROSES AND LUSTERWARE TRIM. IT HAS A LARGE ORANGE LOBSTER HANDLE AND IS MARKED GERMANY. IT IS FROM THE EARLY 1900'S AND IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH NO CHIPS OR CRACKS. IT'S HARD TO FIND ONE OF THESE IN SUCH GOOD CONDITION. ORNATE Antique German Porcelain GOLD GILT LoBSTeR Serving Dish~Bowl~Tray Platter
This vintage white porcelain serving dish has a very ornate shape. A large figural gold lobster in the center. Beautiful gold designs and trim, and a slight pink hue below the border designs. It measures approximately 14 1/4" long. By 10 1/2" wide(front to back) This is from the 1800's, and is marked C.T. Germany, and is also numbered on the bottom as shown. It is in good condition with the exception of wear to the gold on the lobster. And a small nick to the end point. more so toward the under side, but can be seen a little from the top(see last two close up photos) Still a beautiful piece for use or a collection! This is a heavy piece to begin with, so shipping is based on 8 pounds packed weight. Buyers please read my notes below regarding shipping and terms. THIS IS A WONDERFUL OLD MAJOLICA CRAB AND LOBSTER BOWL. IT IS WHITE CERAMIC WITH A CRAB ON ONE SIDE AND LOBSTER ON THE OTHER. THEY ARE VERY DETAILED WITH CLAWS AND ALL THEIR FEATURES. THE BOWL MEASURES 10 1/2" X 2 3/4" AND WAS PROBABLY USED TO DISCARD THE SHELLS OF THE CRAB OR LOBSTER. IT IS IN GOOD CONDITION EXCEPT FOR ON LEG ON THE LOBSTER THAT IS BROKEN AS SHOWN IN ONE OF THE PICTURES AND SOME MINOR ROUGHNESS AROUND THE CRAB. Antique China Lobster Bowl With a Lobster and Pink Flowers
This unique and unusual bowl made in Germany will certainly be the center of attention on any table. It is in great condition. The gold dots on the lobster's eyes are not solid but that may be the way it was made. There is very little wear on the gold trim and the detail on this bowl is amazing! Antique Art Nouveau Lobster Dish circa 1910. about 11-3/4" wide x 10-1/2" front to back. There is one chip on the edge of the bowl and some loss to the gold paint. Overall it displays very well. The chip is shallow and about 3/4" wide. Visually it blends-in with the scalloped edge. There are no cracks or other damage. SHIPPING NOTES: Your Package has Tracking and Insurance-Always. Antique divided lobster bowl w 14K gold
A very fine antique divided lobster bowl. The pure white of the porcelain a perfect background for the gleam of the gold which has been generously applied to the lobster handle and decoratively over the bowl. Please note when you look at the underside of the bowl you will see where there is a chip and on the top above it about 1/4" has been re-gilded. Otherwise it is excellent. Measures 14" x 11"

I believe this would be considered a"lobster bowl" because of the shape of its handle. It has a decorative edge of roses 2 inches deep into the bowl that creates a lovely decorative border. The gold around the rim is worn with only specks remaining. Pink. Red and yellow flowers adorn the bowl. No maker's mark, however, the underside of the bowl is shaped like it may have been a European maker(determined by comparison) Measures 10 x 9 x 4.
