19th century Old Paris porcelain reticulated compote with floral panels and gilt
A lovely and unique 19th century Old Paris porcelain compote with reticulated base and sides. Three-lobed border along rim of compote, gilt edging and highlights, and lovely celeste blue panels with rondels depicting various flowers in tones of cream, lavender, blue and white. The interior of the compote is a plain white glazed porcelain. What helps to make this compote unique is that many Old Paris compotes are formed of two separate pieces of porcelain, the bowl and the base, that are subsequently bolted together. When the ceramicist made this piece he employed the novel technique of making the compote all of one piece. The great advantage is that such compotes tend to be far sturdier than those with a bolt; the corresponding disadvantage is that the weight of the porcelain in the kiln could cause the bowl to settle slightly along the rim, ... moreas is the case in this piece. This does not impact the beauty of the decor. The gilding and piercing is truly lovely to behold, as are the four painted rondels along the sides, each featuring a slightly varied floral design. The approximate dimensions of this piece are: 8 inches high by 11 inches wide. All photos are part of the description of this piece. If you have further questions or desire additional photos, I will be happy to comply. Sorry, no refunds or exchanges permitted on this piece. Thank you for checking my listings and best of luck if you decide to bid.

Stunning Antique 19th Century Haviland Limoges Hand Decorated Figural Leaf Bowl
Absolutely lovely estate find! Large cupped leaf shaped Limoges porcelain bowl made by Haviland& Co. that dates back to the late 1800s. My guess is that this was a piece of whiteware(or blank)that was later decorated by an amateur. This is purely a guess. However, and in my opinion does not detract from it's beauty. The interior has ombre painted pastels starting with a very soft pale green in the bottom that fades up to a pale pink and finishes with gold trim. The exterior features loosely painted modern art thorny pink rose transfers. Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, minimal paint rub. Measures about12" across the widest part and 3 1/2" tall. 19th Century Circa 1860's Primitive Large 14" Yellow Ware Batter Bowl With Spout
Winner gets a highly desirable 19th century yellow ware batter bowl. I'd date this to the 1860's judging by the form. This is the largest yellow ware batter bowl I have ever seen. It is 14" in diameter. And stands 6.5" high. It has a molded rim and wide, pinched spout. There are molded panels below a lobed valence circling the exterior. Overall, this is in good condition. There is wear, crazing, some light stains and imperfections consistent with all pieces of this age. The damage I'd most like to point out can be seen in pictures 7-10. Although there are no chips around the spout or rim, there are a few repairs, although they are well done and look early. There is also a crack that runs from the bottom all the way to the top, best seen in picture 9. The crack does not affect the integrity of the bowl, but please zoom ... morein on the pictures to see the extent of it. Please enlarge my pictures and ask any questions prior to bidding. All my items have been stored in a smoke and pet free home in a temperature controlled environment since coming into my possession. Please check out my other auctions. Fine Paris Gilt Bisque and Porcelain Reticulated Figural Corbeille 19th Century
This auction is for a stunning 19th Century reticulated porcelain and bisque corbeille. The piece is painted cobalt blue and gold with gilt accents. It has a lion footed ovoid base with a lion and floral relief design around the sides of the plinth. Two kneeling angels in chitons act as supports for the dramatic. Pierced porcelain bowl which is also decorated with gilt and has a gold feather at each end above the winged lady columns. As you can see, the corbeille has a removable cast copper insert that fits it perfectly so it can also be used as a planter. This is in very good condition. There is some minor paint loss to the gilt detailing and you can see where the blue paint is worn from the very tips of the base but there are no chips, cracks, repairs or discoloration. The piece is not signed but had two old Drew's Antiques(Omaha) stickers. ... moreDrew's Antiques were a renowned purveyor of fine European antiques and art for 50 years, though they have now been closed for close to 30 years. The Durham Museum even has an exhibit dedicated to the now defunct store. I tried to remove the stickers along with the felt off the feet but some residue remains which a careful but more comprehensive cleaning should take care of. This is a sizable piece, measuring approximately 12" long, 7 1/2" wide and 13" tall. Shipping reflects the considerable weight and delicacy of the piece.

EARLY 19TH CENTURY ANTIQUE REDWARE MANGANESE BOWL DECORATED LEAD GLAZE SE PA
Here is a unusual manganese decorated bowl measuring 6-1/8 inches in diameter. And is 2-3/4 inches tall. There are two chips off the rim, as pictured. There is a faint trace of dark splotch manganese decoration on the face of the bowl, and the glaze is really super, on an unusual form for Southeastern Pennsylvania Redware. It is getting harder to find these pieces especially in good condition. I was fortunate to find this particular piece as it is original from this family, never sold, never collected. Thanks for viewing.

RARE Porcelaine de Tournai Sucrier/Open Sugar Bowl Epi Pattern 19th Century
Extremely rare Porcelaine de Tournai Sucrier/Open Sugar Bowl Epi Pattern dating from 19th Century. This darling little bowl stands approximately 4 inches tall and 4.5 inches wide. It is in pristine condition with only two condition issues I mention only for accuracy. First. A bit of the blue glaze at the base of the piece appears to have smudged during the original firing(see photo) Secondly, the rim has some wear to the glaze(very slight roughness to the touch) commiserate with age but it does not detract from the beauty and rarity of the piece. No chips, cracks or restorations. Really the piece looks and shows like new! I've included a photo of the a collection of Porcelaine de Tournai that belonged to the late Yves St. Laurent and was recently auctioned by Christie's. The third photo is the very same set of dishes purchased by ... moreCarolyne Roehm at auction and shared on her delightful blog.

I do not find that they distract from the appearance of the bowl but I want to make sure I disclose them so you are aware and can come to your own conclusion. The bowl is beautiful. Set of 10 Antique 19th Century Sevres Porcelain King Louis Philippe Cups Saucers
I have acquired a large quantity of 19th Century Sevres and Sevres style porcelain. Including quite a collection of King Louis Philippe pieces. I am listing the last of this tonight. Please check my other listings for more. Each of these beautiful saucers measures approx. 5 1/2 inches across. Each elegant cup stands approx. 2 inches tall. The blue ground nicely sets off all of the gilding. The cherubs in the middle. Flanking the Louis Philippe insignia, are nicely painted with good detail. There are 3 or 4 marks on the back of each piece. One is the"Chateau Des Tuileries" mark. The second is the"Sevres 1844" mark. The 3rd is the crowned"SV 46 mark. The 4th is written in script and says"Made in France" Most of the cups have at least a remnant of this. A few don't. Most of the saucers have it complete, ... moresome don't. The question. Of course, is why is this mark present on pieces dated as having been made in 1846. I've had 18th century antique French pieces(with no question on the age) that were also marked this way. According to people far more knowledgeable than I am about these things, the markings were put in place in the 1920's or later in order to insure safe importing into the United States. I believe that these cups and saucers also fall into this category. Made when dated. But given the"Made in France" designation much later so that they could be legally sent to the U.S. The U.S. put a new law in place in the early 1920's requiring such marks on imports. They certainly look to be mid 19th Century porcelain. At least, that is my conclusion based on having handled such examples in the past and after consulting those"older and wiser" than me. I'm doing my best to be accurate. But there is always more to learn! I strive for accurate descriptions in all of my listings. Please do let me know if I'm making errors, or if you have more accurate information to add. Thank you. Please see the photos for the condition. No chips or cracks. Bu

19th Century Mocha Mochaware Bowl -Amazing Decoration-Ex Rickard Collection
Ca. 1830 Mochaware Bowl Ex-Rickard Collection Finest Rich Colors and Profuse Earthworm/Cable Design Two raised-dot rouletted bands. Upper and lower 6 1/4" diameter at top Please read condition report and look closely at all photos. This is an absolutely gorgeous bowl with the richest colors of rust. Blue, and brown. Profuse earthworm decoration circles the entire bowl. The rounded base is in good shape. There are two rows of raised dot rouletting which adds a nice touch. The hairlines go through the body, but the bowl seems solid and stable-intact. Probably the most noticeable flaw is the old rim chip, clearly photographed. Mochaware was made to be used by common people in homes. Inns, and taverns. It was not usually a cabinet piece. Staining, old lines, and old chips are commonly found from repeated use and found on most early pieces, ... moreunless they have been cleaned or repaired. Safe to say, this piece is in its natural used condition. No apologies-the color. Form, and especially the design, are exceptional. You have to take a piece like this as it is, knowing that there's not another one out there quite like it. I have not attempted to clean or repair a thing on this bowl-that would be up to its new owner. It is certainly worthy of attention, but some feel that it's better to maintain the purity of character, especially in this case, where the flaws do not interfere so much with the spectacular design and color. Priced to sell. I appreciate your inquiries.
George Boote English White Ironstone Punch Bowl Rare 19th Century
This rare George Boote English white ironstone punch bowl stands 6.75" high. Measures 10.5" in diameter and weighs six pounds. It is truly a wonderful example of 19th century English white ironstone and would make a wonderful addition to any collection. It is in excellent shape, with only the following production flaws(all are shown) a black speck on the inside bottom, a small glaze fissure on the rim, a small glaze fissure under the rim, and what looks to be a very light brown line under the glaze on the exterior of the clay under the glaze that runs along approximately one third of the body. These minor flaws are mentioned only for accuracy. The piece is solid, intact, and fully functional. It is being sold without a reserve and will be shipped USPS Parcel Select.

Those who follow my sales and have bought from me over the years know that I have always had a policy of shipping within 24 hours of a sale(see my feedback) However, there are times when I am out of town unexpectedly for a house call, an auction or an estate call and it simply is not possible to get to the post office in time. Also, if you find that there is more than one item you are interested in bidding on over a given time period and would like to take advantage of combined shipping, please again, DO NOT pay me until the last of those items you're watching has finished. I will then send you an invoice with an adjusted shipping fee which saves on postage.
