From the collection of a retired diplomat. We offer a magnificent sponge ware bowl dating from around the mid 19th century. It has been suggested that this bowl is from Quebec in in the region of Port Neuf. Given that it is not marked I am actually unsure of the exact place of manufacture though a number of pottery experts such Quebec. It has no marks and therefore we will leave it to the Ebay community to provide advice and guidance. T he bowl is covered in sponge applied decorations of no particular design. In colours red. Antique Yellow Ware Sponge Ware Lided Casserole Rust and Green Ribbed Design
This nice antique yellow ware casserole and lid dates to the late 1800s/early 1900s. It has a ribbed design and is in a pleasing rust. Green and tan color. The casserole has two small handles and the lid has a finial for easy lifting and a hole for steam. A nice glaze with crazing covers the outside of the casserole and lid. This piece is in very good condition, especially when one considers the age and the fact that it was made for cooking and use in the kitchen. There are no cracks or repair to the piece and the only issue I can find is a small, shallow chip on the inside rim of the lid that is not visible to the display of the piece overall. The casserole without the lid measures just over 8 inches wide at the top and just over 7 inches wide at the base. It is 3 1/4 inches tall. This is a stunning late 18th early 19th century antique spatter sponge ware small bowl or tea saucer featuring a peacock in a tree. The piece is very thin and fine. Condition is excellent considering age and materials. It has no cracks just some light crazing and rim flakes and wear. The foot has some small chips but it sits securely with no wobbles. It measures 5&1/4" across by about 1& 1/2" deep. I just got this last week out of an estate full of dusty old and interesting antiques last week.

I am please to offer this charming stick spatter bowl marked"Old English Handpainted. Baker& Co. England" The pottery mark indicates that it was manufactured 1930-1932. It measures 7 3/8" across and 4" high. Handpainted with burgundy flowers. Green leaves and little sponge painted blue blossoms. Burgundy stripe around the inside rim. This wonderful bowl has some crazing, not too deep, and a chip on the bottom edge as shown. Quite sound, no cracks etc.

These classic antiques are great examples of 19th Century china. Offered here is a sponge decorated handless tea cup and a tea waste bowl. The tea cup was sponged with blue paint and has a peacock decoration. The bowl was sponged in green and red and was also painted inside. These were probably made sometime between 1820-1840. Tea cup measures 3 7/8 inches across and about 2 3/8 inches high. The waste bowl is approximately 5 5/8 inches across and around 3 inches high. These are shelf pieces and great for study. As you can see. Both show their age. Each has some staining and is crazed; the cup has a chip off the rim and a hairline crack running down from it about 2 in. the waste bowl has hair lines running down the rim and a hair line running around the footed bottom. This is a wonderful Antique Blue spongeware/ Spatterware Slop bowl or no handle cup A cream color ware with a lovely Bright blue sponge It has no maker mark's. In what i consider to be excellent condition for age. No chip's or Crack's Does have overall crazing due to age. A wonderful pc. Circa mid to late 1800's possibly even earlier than that

Hand decorated with stick and sponge- red-burgundy stick rose with green leaves and small sponge blue flower blossom. By the top edge is burgundy stripe. Inside no decoration. Condition-On the bottom rim one flat flake or small flat chip. Some crazing inside the bowl on the glaze. Will be shipped well wrapped and packed. Antique Thetford England Pulp Ware Sponge Decorated Bowl
About 15 inches long by 12 inches by 4 1/2. Marked on the bottom. Thetford Pulp Ware, England. CONDITION: Very good. There is wear. Cracking and some discoloration on the inside and outside surface of the bowl. This is normal aged wear for such a utilitarian object. There is flaking and chipping around the upper rim of the bowl. The most noticeable example of this can be seen in Photo 4, near the upper middle. Bowl remains solid, stable and firm. PLEASE LOOK carefully at all the photos. Albion Antiek Antique Spongeware Deep Bowl- Bird- Stick& Spatter This listing is for a nice and unusual antique pottery bowl. It is cut sponge decorated and features a bird in the middle. This bowl measures just over 9-3/4" across and 3-1/2" deep. There are two hanging holes in the standing rim(made during manufacture) This bowl is not marked but was probably made in France and dates to ca. 1900. There is quite some wear of the glaze from age and use. Also a fine hairline(see last close-up picture) but no other damage and no repair or restoration. An attractive piece of antique spongeware! Please excuse any glares(white patches) that you may see in the pictures. These are caused by reflections of light on the glaze and are not on the actual object itself.
