Oscar Schmidt Autoharp Antique Vintage Collectible Rare Unique Old Guitar
I have here from the research I have done a 1915 Oscar Shmidt Special Niagara Model zither. Lap guitar, auto harp in relatively good condition for its age. I have not attempted to clean this in any form as I do not wish to damage it and this is why you will find it is a little dusty and has metal flickers from the old string on the front. There is also a hairline crack in the backing of this with previous owner placing clear tape over it to stop it spreading further. There is only one original string missing far left. This would be a great piece for collectors as it is a very rare example of Oscar Shmidt's work. In the centre cut out you can still make out his original trade mark logo and details. Not 100% sure how old it is. Just relaying this information. Encyclopedie Brittanica definition: bombarde. English bombard, German Pumhart, or Pommer, double-reed wind instrument belonging to the oboe or shawm family. It has a wooden body ranging from 10 to 20 inches(25 to 50 cm) usually with six finger holes and one or two keyed holes along its front, a cane reed, and a wide, flaring metal bell. The instrument is held in a position nearly perpendicular to the body, positioning the first three fingers of the left hand over the top three finger holes and the first three fingers of the right hand over the bottom three holes. The little finger of the right hand ... moreplays the key at the bottom of the instrument, or, if no key is present, covers the seventh hole. The reed is placed between the lips and blown into to create the instrument’s characteristically loud and powerful sound. vintage pianola roll shabby 1920s boxed bakelite ends Some Enchanted Evening
A vintage pianola roll in the original box. Fabulous. The box is in shabby condition. With black paper peeling and taped ends. On the end of the box is an original label D1407 Masterton"How I miss you tonight" waltz, Davis Burke Fisher, played by Edith Murne and Laurel Pardy. Copyright J. Albert and son 6 shillings& 6 pence. The roll inside for the pianola is not the same tune as on the label. It's numbered AD4677 and delightfully is"Some enchanted evening" a cool old favourite by Rodgers and Hammerstein and a fox trot. The box is possibly older than the actual roll. The first 10 inches or so of paper is moth eaten. Tattered and aged, yet still holding to the rest of the reel which appears to be in remarkably good condition, once wound further off.
