This is a VINTAGE CORNET In my estimation it dates from around the early 20th Century. Circa 1900, but please make up your own mind about this. The cornet measures approx 13 inches(330mm) long and is made from silver plated brass. With some traces of the brass base metal visible. The bell is engraved with the suppliers' name SALVATION 1ST FURNISHING SUPPLIES LTD KINGS CROSS LONDON and the SALVATION ARMY CREST. The valves all move freely. Though it needs two new finger buttons, and a mouthpice. That aside i t is in good original condition with light wear consistent with its great age. But no major dings, dents, damage or repairs. The Silverplate is in very good condition for it's age with very very small mark of wear that I can find which is where the thumb wraps around the valve when playing. Markings on the bell read"Chicago Bore; 50 Medals of Honour; BESSON& Co. Prototype" 198 Euston Road; London; then a star) England; C. Fischer; 6 4th Ave N.Y. Sole agent U. States" On the valves it is marked"Besson Brevete" and each valve is numbered 34. 35,36 and each valve cap on the bottom are also marked with the same numbers. Serial number marked on valves is 74834. There are two different lengths in the piece that attach for the mouth piece to fit onto. Each has it's own place in the case. The CASE is incredibly unique and it is leather but old and has metal foot studs on the bottom. I have never ... moreseen one like it. There is a large compartment beneath the section that holds the Cornet. Could hold addtional pieces, music, etc. The center section which holds the instrument has four holes for different mouth pieces(thats my guess) small Silver clips that hold the mouth piece lengths in place, matching clips to open the bottom section. All four of these clips have scrolling. When the case is closed there are metal clips on each side that fold up to make sure the case is kept closed safely. There is also a locking latch on th top and a hard formed leather leather covered handle. Cornet needs a good cleaning. I have had the valves out, bottom valve caps off and one slide out. I have not been able to pull the other slides but I am kind of old and am afraid of damaging it so I will leave that to you. Antique Selmer Paris Cornet Trumpet 3 Digit Serial
Up for auction is an oldy and a goody- a late 30's/ early 40's Henri Selmer Paris cornet with a 3 digit serial number- 47x! Horn is in impressive but used shape for its age: original lacquer about 85% No visible pitting on leadpipe, minor dent work on bell and crook, everything moves, just cleaned. Valves show mild wear and faint sideplay, but still pull surprisingly good vacuum for age and horn is thoroughly playable from top to bottom. Bore is about.459 and horn has a great warm, vintage tone. Has a 1st valve trigger, and 3rd valve slide(a little stiff) with original ring. Could use new corks/felts and valve alignment. Comes with what appears to be original case, no name mpc in about a 7c size, 3 mutes in good condition, and some 1940's trumpet solo transcriptions and some handwritten music, too. Levy's model by Antoine Courtois& Mille, dating to the 19th century, also included is a receipt for purchase in 1941 during WW2, for Pt W Patchett 5726712, of the Dorset Regiment. The cornet is inscribed on the bell: Levy's Model. Medialle Londres 1862, Exposition Universelle Paris 1867 Medaille d'Benneur. En Argent Antoine Courtois& Mille. Mille Sr, Facteur Du Conservatoire National. 88 Rue de Marais, St Martin, Paris. 1 Lr Prix Grande Medaille D'or Exposition de Moscou 1872& Medaille D'or Paris 1878. S. Here's a beautiful vintage horn that you will not see many of here on ebay! I've had this for many years. And as I do not play the trumpet, have decided to offer it to someone that does! This is a cornet of the highest caliber, manufactured and used by the Salvation Army Brass Band! The bell is stamped: The Triumphonic L.P Class A 26752. There is an emblem that says Blood And Fire with a ribbon that says The Salvation Army. Also says, Manufactured by the Salvationist Publishing& Supplies, LTD. Judd St Kings Cross London, Factory St Albans, Made In England. Valves are marked 30, 29, 28. Silver plate, in very nice condition. While I have checked the valves, and they look to be original, there is one valve cover, as seen in the photo, that is not original. I am selling this very old cornet for someone who received it in an estate. The only thing she knows about it. It belonged to a man born in 1881 and died in 1976. No one has played it in many years. I know nothing about the instrument, so you are getting it as is. I tried to take pictures of various sides. It says"Austria" on it. The bell is engraved with"Henri Gautier Virtuoso" There are tags with it that said it came from Sears Roebuck. On those tags it says silverplated. From the diagram, it looks like all of the parts are there. However since it hasn't had any attention for so many years, I'm sure it will need some TLC! I hope someone will give it a good home! I don`t know anything about cornets so this listing is based on information gleaned from the Internet. And I`ll `stand corrected` on anything that might be incorrect. Please let me know if you spot anything. The cornet is brass. And may be quite early. Because. a) the number 5131 engraved on the bell is a lower number than those on other examples on various websites. And(b) the inscription on the bell listing `awards received` mentions Moscow in 1872 but not Paris in 1878 which may suggest that it was made between those two dates. And is marked `Prototype Made in England C` The leather `suitcase` which houses the cornet is in brown leather with a purple interior and carries a label marked `Boosey& Hawkes Ltd 295 Regent Street London W` It looks as though there may also have been another. Oval, label below the Boosey& Hawkes one. There is no key for the locks on the suitcase. Otherwise it`s in generally good condition. There are a couple of areas where the stitching needs re-doing on the rear of the top but it`s not very significant. Please note:

Ohio Band offered a full catalog of Regent brass and woodwind instruments and band accessories, including stands, mutes, mouthpieces, reeds, etc. exclusively to dealers in the school band market, a business model that Foster Reynolds was well familiar with from his work with H.N. White’s Cleveland Band and American Standard divisions. With instruments being made on the same factory floor as F.A. Reynolds Co. Ohio Band produced approximately 5000 horns/year, a little more than twice the rate of F.A. Reynolds instruments. Compare Ohio Band’s catchphrase“Instruments of Quality” with the F.A. Reynolds slogan“Instruments of Distinction” By no later than 1940. A“Roth Band Instruments” line of trumpet, cornet and tenor trombone was also being produced under the Ohio Band label in addition to the Regent line. Schilke 20 rim cornet mouthpiece, gold plate custom copy of antique + original
For Sale is a: Schilke 20 rim cornet mouthpiece. Gold plated custom exact copy of an antique original 19th Century cornet mouthpiece, traditional V shaped cup made by Scott Laskey during the early 1990s at the Schilke factory; and, the original 19th Century traditional cornet mouthpiece that is also gold plated whose rim is much smaller than the Schilke copy( it is similar in diameter to a schilke 12) They are beautiful mouthpieces and would match perfectly with an antique cornet. The inside rim diameter of the copy is a Schilke 20 17.78mm. The original antique has an appproximate rim size to a Schilke 12 or a bach 7 16.6 mm. I am thinning out my mouthpiece collection and will be posting them for sale in in batches as they sell. I had two throat surgeries and this has drastically changed the way I play and the type of equipment that I use ... morenow as a brass player. Another antique instrument on sale from my collection. This is a curious construction cornet. Sounds fine with no significant dents or creasing. Has usual dinks etc.Looks like third valve pipes have been resoldered in it's long history. The 1st and 3rd valve finger pads are new additions. Antique 5 VALVE Courtois Cornet
Here is one of the truely RARE center pieces of my antique brass instrument collection. A 5 VALVE cornet. The two rotary valves act to change the pitch from Bb to others? The whole rotary valve unit slides out to act as the tuning slide. First and Third valve slides are stuck closed, there is some denting to the main pipe bend leading to flare and some dinks to rest of instrument. One of the rotary valve wing arms is missing. The vast majority of the silver plating is present. Comes in what is believed to be it's original brown leather case. Please ask if you need any more information. Vintage Antique Shepherd's Crook Cornet Late 1800s French Import
French cornet in raw brass originally made in the late 1800s. On bell is stamped: J.HENRI MARCHAND/PARIS/FIRST CLASS/H.E. McMILLIN/SOLE US AGENT/CLEVELAND O. This horn needs restoration and repair and is priced accordingly. But aside from a missing lead pipe shank which can be made or acquired all the basic elements are there and in tact. But it does have dents. Dings and some sloppy solder repairs from the past. Comes with vintage coffin case(no handle) and a Holton Galaxy cornet mouthpiece which is obviously not original to the horn but in excellent condition. Antique Engraved Cornet ca. 1890
Offered for your consideration is an antique engraved cornet. It was obtained in an estate sale and I have no background information on it. It has no company name or serial number. I had it evaluated informally by a local music store and their best assessment is that it was manufactured in the 1880's or 1890's. Probably for mail order. They think it could have been made by Conn or York. The instrument is very tarnished. I applied some metal polish and it cleaned enough off for the engraved floral design to appear. Please note the dent shown in photograph#5. No mouth piece is included. All three valves work and the instrument is playable. At some point the spit valve probably broke off and was soldered over. Up for auction is an antique Lyon& Healy American Professional Cornet Hardshell Carrying Case! This case is in good condition and has two combination locks to keep the case secure. The leather handle is slightly torn. But still holds the stress of the case. The interior of the cornet case is lined with a soft green and red colored material that looks and feels terrific. The green material has some discoloration from use. The exterior of the case has some nicks, but has really held up well and looks great. The case measures 17-7/8" long. 5-3/4" wide. And weighs 5lbs. I am unsure of the history of this item. Through my research on trying to get information I have only found out that this cornet is from before 1970 The exact date I am unsure of. There is a spit valve pad that is missing and when it came to me it had tissue in it's place. I have played this cornet and all of the valves work smoothly. This does come with a silver beginners mouthpiece and well cone. There are a few pieces of sheet music inside the case. This is a collectors cornet from my antique and vintage collection. It is a'Hillyard Military Cornet' Looking at the design and construction. I believe this cornet to have been in use toward the end of the 1800s. It has been repaired at some time in the past. There are of course some dinks, dents etc. It has the'wish bone' style double water keys. All slides move free as do the bottom sprung valves. Comes in a wooden'coffin' case of it's time. Up for your bid is a ver old and crusty Cornet or Trumpet. It has markings" J W Pepper American Favorite Philadelphia" The model number appears to be 34681. I have tried to look up this model number and cannot find an exact match to determine what it is. It appears it may be from the late 1800's or very early 1900s. Please note it is not perfect by any means. It is dinged. Dented and has a rough finish in places. It does have a lot of artwork or designs in the metal and would probably be very unique restored. Over 30+ years ago I was a kid and played in the marching band. I found this cornet in a Flea Market. I bought it from a very old woman who said when her father was a kid he was hanging out near a club and a very upset man came storming out of the club/bar and threw down this cornet and walked off. He never came back for ... moreit and this boy picked it up and took it home. That must have been a very long time ago. I had it myself over 30 years and it's been just hanging up in my garage. It had the mouthpiece but I lost it. The valves all work and they are not stuck. here we have a very old antique trumpet or cornet. Not quite sure. not an expert on brass instruments. but from playing it i do know it's not pitched in the standard Bb. it's higher pitched. closer to C. are there horns pitched in B? inscription on the bell reads: Franz Weber, Boston Model, Vienna and New York. and speaking of the belll, it has a major cruch in it. i don't know what type of metal this is made of, but it seems very thin and weak. the valves work fine. mouthpiece is a vincent bach. the horn ddoes work and play. the case is rather spartan.not exactly tight fitting. and one of the latches is bbroke.so only one latch closes. well, guess that about covers it.

This is a great Antique Cornet. One of the nicest I’ve come across. It has nearly no denting, beautiful silver satin patina finish, and plays like a dream. It has“ PIONEER” and“Made in U.S.A. bell tube engraving with geometric designs. It was made. based on my research) by Conn Company. Date of manufacture is not known, but has 5 digit serial# 192xx. This great horn is 15 1/8” long w/o mouthpiece, is 5 5/8” tall at the valves, and has a4 5/8” diameter bell. Serial 192xx is stamped into 2nd valve body. After lubing and re-assembly, play it for maybe a half hour. It really does play very well. It isn’t stuffy at all, plays clean and crisp, and the valves have fast solid response. antique CORNET with rotary valves in E flat
very unique E-flat cornet. I am guessing this horn was made around the turn of the 20th century during the height of the Sousa band era( when e flat melophones and altoniums were used instead of french horns of today) Brass with silver band on bell and the brand name. I could find no information about the brand. This horn was refurbished many years ago by my Father, who had his own musical instrument repair business. Since I was a trumpet player, I have had this horn im my possession for the last 30 years. The rotary valves( which can also date this horn) are in working order, although could use some oil, the condition is excellent. This is more of a novelty horn today because of the key it's in but it does play! buyer pays for shipping. It has no case.

Antique Shepherd's Crook Cornet, multi-key
I don't know much about this unusual Shepherd's Crook cornet. I am a low-brass musician. Not a collector. This instrument is extremely well-made, and in great shape for its age. The valves are smooth and light, and all the slides work well. It plays fine! There is a crease on the left side of the bell that does not affect its playing. It is missing the cork from the water key on the main tuning slide. According to my tuner. It plays in the key of Bb with the two main tuning slides pushed in, and plays in the key of A with them both out. There is no maker's mark on the bell. According to some knowledgeable friends, it is probably an apprentice's final project, from the early 1900s. I was told that it is probably worth around $850. This is an antique aneroid barometer fresh from an upstate New York estate and completely new to the market. It measures. 21" X 15" and is highly carved. I think the wood is mahogany but might be walnut. Dark finish makes it tough to tell. The dial reads, Van Der Voodt-Cornet,First Dock No.40, Antwerp. The carving is of the highest quality. There is some old tape holding on the back door. There are two thermometers and the barometer mechanism. Also. There are some chips and small missing carved pieces(see pics) The pictures tell the story best so please view them all. Unusual Antique French Cornet The bell is stamped: VASSEILLIERE FILS CHARLEVILLE. Hubert Eugene Vasseilliere was born 1826. He was an editor. Composer, and instrument maker. He used the license granted by Adolphe Sax to manufacture Saxhorns. He died in Charleville September 2. 1870. The cornet tunes to Bb high pitch. All sillies. Valve caps, and valves move freely. The horn has some minor dings, signs of repairs, and a professionally done patch on the main tuning slide. The cornet is brass with a German silver mouthpiece. Length of the cornet is 14 and ½ inches and the bell is 4 and ½ inches in diameter. The horn is a good player and has been recently serviced and is ready to play.

Serial# 53192 was the third serial number created after Pepper& Son was established in 1910(the instrument bearing that serial# was also a"Surprise" model) therefore this instrument was probably manufactured between 1910-1915.
