Jacob Brothers Antique Upright Piano Model 48505
This is a Jacob Brothers antique piano. I've owned it for about 15 years. All 3 children learned to play on it. I bought it from a local music teacher and it was pretty much in the same shape as it is now. It looks like it may have the original finish. Which shows some age. It has some dings and marks on it. The solid wood is beautiful though and would look amazing refinished. The soundboard is in good shape. It does need tuning. I've tested all the keys and they each produced sound and none got stuck. so although I don't play myself, I'd say the keys are all in working order. All 3 pedals also seem to work as well. The bench is included. I'm not sure of the age of this piano. According to Antique Piano Shop website, it could have been manufactured between 1905- 1946. so it could be as old as 107 yrs or as new as 66 yrs. ... moreThe model number found inside is 48505. The keys also show some age. some minor chips here and there and the ivory is worn thru to the wood on a few keys. Foot pedals are solid brass. I don't know what kind of wood it's made of but it has a gorgeous burled grain. The lines are clean and sort of an Arts and Crafts style. Buyer will need to pick it up and transport. It's on wheels but it is very. Very heavy. No particle board or veneer on this one. Jacob Brothers Piano Company was established in 1878 as a larger retailer in New York and Boston. Prior to 1905. Established in 1774 By Charles Albrecht of Philadelphia Pennsylvania. A little known historical fact is that an Albrecht Piano was located in Independence Hall on the day the declaration of Independence was signed. The first Albrecht Piano can be viewed at the Historical Society of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Up for bid is an 1880's or possibly 1890's Mathushek Upright piano. Made by the Mathushek Piano Mfg. co. New Haven CT. I know very, very little about pianos so please ask any questions. Don't expect me to know if there is some thing I should know about or point out or? Piano looks like it was restored at one time. The red cloth has obviously been replaced. And I believe the white keys have been replaced also as the tops are whiter and brighter than the sides. But it does not play at this time. Would need restoration to be more than a conversation piece. I was told about a year ago(by someone who did restorations on these specific pianos) that fully restored it would be worth between $11.000 and $13,000. but I don't know for certain. Serial Number 64617 The Schomacker Piano Company was one of Philadelphia's earlier and more successful piano manufacturers. Established in 1838. The firm built pianos well over a century. During the earlier 19th Century, Schomacker specialized in higher-end square grand pianos, but by about 1850 they were manufacturing a line of parlor grand pianos and uprights. Their pianos were built with heavy German design influence, likely a result of Schomacker's roots. Most Schomacker pianos were exceedingly well made and very expensive, and they were marketed toward the'upper crust' of Victorian society. This usually indicates a similar pattern completely down the center of the piano from top to bottom. Vintage Antique E.P. Johnson P.C. Weaver Upright Piano # 30910
This is an awesome find! It is an upright piano from PC Weaver(parent company is E.P. Johnson) I have done some research and the Weaver was made from the years of 1901-1921 so this is a very old piece! As you can see the pictures. The wood still looks very nice. The keys do leave a lot ot be desired. The tops are off a lot of them so the keyboard part really needs a refinishing job and it is out of tune as well. It does have the potential to be a beautiful piece though. I originally did plan on having the work done myself because I have consulted and know this is worth a LOT more if refinished. However, I have had it sitting here a while and realize that I probably won't get to this project any time soon. So if any of you would like a project piece, this is it! This Edwardian era piano has a serial number and has been verified by a trusted antique piano company that it indeed was created in 1903. This is an early 1900 antique mason and hamlin upright piano. It is in good workable condition and was recently tuned. It has been in our family since it was purchase and somewhere I have the original receipt. We are located in Maine. It does have some ivory missing from the keys. I do have the original purchase receipt somewhere as it was my husband's grandmothers and has always been in the family( not sure if I can find the receipt but still looking) The bench comes with it.

Antique Steinway Studio Upright Piano
What can you say about a Steinway? A great piano when new. Still a great piano. Craftsmanship built to last. The finish has some dents and dings but overall it's not bad. Soundboard and ribs are still tightly glued with no cracks. This is unusual even in Steinways. It indicates it has been well cared-for. Tuning pins are tight. Bass strings are live. Hammers and butt flanges are new. Touch is even and responsive. Tone is classic Steinway with clean. Authoritative bass and crisp treble. An investment for a serious musician. I am a piano technician. I also play piano quite well. Unlike many others in the business. I have worked with keyboard instruments since 1970. I bought this piano in August for repair and resale. The previous owner had bought it at Steinway Hall. She said. It was not playing well and paint was missing on the lid and ... morefallboard(I have repainted them) This explains the attractive price I paid. Most of the keys were sticking down. Everything else looked pretty good. They had a technician work on it but he died before he could get it playing right. Then their son lost interest in music and it just sat. When it came to my shop I did my usual extensive assessment. The soundboard is intact. The braces and bridges are still tightly glued. It still has good downbearing. Which means there is still a good arch in the soundboard. The bridges are very good up to the top octave, where there is minor cracking.The tuning pins are very tight and it holds its tune quite well. The plate is solid with no cracks. The hammers had been replaced some years ago. The piano had been refurbished and repainted in the 1960's by my guess. That technician restyled the case. Making it appear more modern, replaced the hammers and recovered the keys. The sticky keys were due to tight butt flanges(the axle pins the hammers rotate on) Which I replaced. Antique 1911 Kohler & Campbell Upright Piano Beautiful Stand Up Nice Sound Old
This is a Kohler& Campbell Upright Piano. According to the Blue Book Of Pianos. This is a Grade One. It is a full size upright that could use a good once over by a professional. Though a grade one is considered plain with it's square sides and legs, this piano has some beautiful carved accents. I believe it to have been made some time before or around 1911 because the serial number is 131598 and they started with serial number 164000 in 1912(also according to the Blue Book Of Pianos web site) This piano has some issues. There are some spots on the top that look like someone displayed their plants on it and a couple of the keys are missing the ivory plates on top. One of the black keys is broken(see picture 4) but looks like it could be easily repaired as it is a nice clean break(but I am certainly no piano expert) Refurbished, this ... morepiano would be amazing. I am sure it needs to be tuned but actually sounds pretty good, even in it's current condition. We have a couple of other pianos also, if there is anyone out there who might be interested in a lot of 4, just inquire and I will get the makes and serial numbers off of them. Beautiful Antique Bush & Lane Upright Piano with decorative hardwood
A unique pre-World War I piano that is as beautiful to behold as it is to hear. Bush& Lane made this piano(serial number 36903) in 1914 and included a lot of gorgeous hardwood. Much of which is decoratively carved. It has columns on the upper and lower sections with Corinthian capitals on the lower and a central half scroll medallion in the upper. This wood combines with the functional structure to provide a rich resonant tone rarely heard in modern pianos. It has a normal(not birdcage) action. The piano is in a playable state(see Condition Description for more details) so it can serve both as a decorative piece and a source of beautiful music. Antique Behr Brothers upright grand piano
This is a Behr Brothers upright grand piano that is well over 100 years old. Obviously it has signs of wear. I have actually played it for the last 7 years so I can tell you that it is playable and has a great soundboard. However to make it completely playable it would need at least 800.00 worth of work done to it. The keyboard is intact and is missing 16 ivory fronts along with 3 backs. The piano also has the original beanch as well. I will not ship this item but will arrange for local pick up. Please ask any questions about this piano. Beautiful old upright Williams and Sons Chicago Piano. Serial# 3645 Has a name and date of 10/8/86 written inside. I think that must have been from the person that tuned it? Local Pick-up in Potter Nebraska. Conveniently located off Interstate 80 in a small town. You can't get lost here. The town is in between Kimball and Sidney Ne. I will have a strong man who can help load this in your truck. Measures Approx. 63" wide x 57" High x 26" deep. This was made in the early 1900's. Was owned and played by a well known local Artist named Aaron Pyle. I acquired this at an Estate Auction. I have absolutely loved having this in my 1912 home. To compliment my old house. I have received many compliments on it's beauty. I do not play the piano. although I pretend I can play) I mostly have it for home decor. I believe the wood ... moreis Mahogany. But I am unsure of the type of wood used. Lovely embellishment on the front panel. Needs tuning and minor repair of a couple dead keys. Some keys is are chipped and middle pedal broken off long ago. Piano has serial#5858. So I am guessing it was manufactured around 1903 by Hobart M. Cable Co. Chicago. The original finish is'cherry mahogany' but unfortunately it has been painted twice. The original finish can still be seen on the underside of the keyboard cover. It has a cracked soundboard and hasn't been tuned for years. Buyer responsible for all moving and transportation.

Antique 1899 Kimball Upright Piano w/ bench Tiger Oak Gorgeous Must See!
I am selling my antique Kimball upright piano as I need to make room for a home remodel. This is a stunning piano- gorgeous tiger oak with lovely patterns in the wood grain. And leafy wood carving designs on the front. All the keys are in nice shape. As soon as anyone walks in my front door, they comment how beautiful this piano is! The piano measures 59 1/4" high. 63" wide, and 27" deep. The previous owner had d o n e some restoration on the finish I am not an expert and didn't want to attempt any refinishing on my own. The wood is bare and natural; on the inside you can see the previous dark finish-probably from linseed oil. There is a small dark ring from a candle( on the top that could bee removed with wood lightener; there is some veneer on the ends of the body near the keyboard that has chipped off but could be replaced. ... moreAnd near the front feet. A couple of small trim pieces on the bench need to be replaced and could be found a t your local home improvement store. Overall a gorgeous piano- sounds nice- all of the keys are int act. I n nice shape- beautiful color with no stains. Ch ips cracks or d iscoloration and only one sticks slightly but could be easily taken care of when tuning(after a piano is moved it pretty much always needs tuning The foot pedals could use some polish but work fine. Which indicates that it was built somewhere in the late 1800's(according to information seen on the internet) The company was located in New York City, but there was a local vendor in Rochester. The piano is black, with an ornate carved front, carved legs, and the interior is gold colored with black fine painted details. It was purchased by my Mother around 1960, was played by three of us, and has not been moved from its location since. It has been tuned, but not recently. Gram Richtsteig Piano made in Milwaukee Wisconsin between 1914-1924 This was in the family since new. This is large and very heavy unit and would require professional movers to move. Only sold for pickup. Here is a little history behind the company that made this: The Edmund Gram Piano Company was established in 1883 in Milwaukee. Wisconsin. Gram built a full line of upright pianos, grand pianos, and player pianos for several decades and was known for building very good quality, higher grade instruments. This is an amazing and rare find. Upright B. Stanley& Sons upright grand piano in cherry wood. Complete with all original parts I have tuned it about twice since if had it but it does need to be tuned again. All keys work and sounds beautiful. This piano is over 130 years old and for its age it's in very good condition. Has a music stand but no bench. I'm only doing local pickup on this item since its extremely heavy. upright piano forte Broadwood cabinet 1844 antique post harpsichord clavichord
1840s John Broadwood and Sons(London) six and a half octave cabinet upright piano forte. In highly-figured mahogany with ornamental ormolu inlay. The nameboard and key surround pieces are of rosewood. Parchment nameboard cartouche reads"John Broadwood and Sons/ Makers to Her Majesty and the Royal Family/ Great Pulteney Street/ Golden Square/ London" Case mahogany with inlaid brass stringing. The serial number is 8008 which probably makes it from around 1844. Signed"Ormond" or"Armand" with the serial number on the back of the nameboard and on an inset in the first key. This makes me curious if this piano is from a special designer. As it is much more elaborately decorated than many similar cabinet uprights made by Broadwood during this period. This would be a great accent piece in a historic house. Much more of ... morea conversation piece than an 18th century secretary or chest on chest would be, and takes up about the same amount of space. Please note the condition before clicking Buy-it-now: The case is in fair shape and the artistic embellishments are beautiful to behold. Someone apparently had started preparing it for rebuilding or making into a secretary. The soundboard. Bridges and strings have been removed. The action is partially intact with 16 hammers being gone and 18 shanks broken. The keytops have been replaced with plastic(which have yellowed to appear almost like the real thing) and five of the keyfronts are missing. These are very rare in the USA, and most have been converted to furniture, so this one would be worth restoring for historic display. It would be perfect for a historic house or museum as it takes up only about a third of the floor space as a square grand. However, it would take a very motivated person and a tremendous amount of work to restore the piano to playability, thus the low buy-it-now price. Was once a player piano but mechanisms removed. All felt hammers were restored but recently, D key sticks so needs hammer repair. Harp is clean and beautiful.
