BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE INLAID ROSEWOOD MANDOLIN& CASE 1880 guitar ukelele banjo This is a beautiful ANTIQUE MANDOLIN In my estimation it dates from around the mid 19th Century. Circa 1870-1880, but please make up your own mind about this. The mandolin measures approx 23 inches(558mm) long and is made from polished rosewood. With boxwood stringing between the ribs. It has a pine soundboard. And is beautifuly decorated with ornate mother of pearl inlay. It is in sound condition. Though some of the inlays are missing from around the edge(see photos) and there is an old split in the timber of the reinforcing piece around the base.see photos) This is sound. With no movement or lifting, and I suspect it is just a seasoning crack which has opened up as the timber has settled over the years(see photos) All the machine heads turn as they should one ... morehas a replacement knob. Twin is a small settlement on the Strait of Juan de Fuca 20 miles west of Port Angeles at the mouth of Twin River in north central Clallam County named for its position at the mouths of West Twin and East Twin rivers. It wasn't until the turn of the century when the Chicago. Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad was built between Twin and Port Angeles that the towns boomed. Puget Sound Mill and Timber established headquarters in Twin after the railroad came. With the railroad linking Twin to other communities, the town thrived, and so did business. The town received a boost during World War I when the government assigned 27,000 men to its"Spruce Division" to harvest spruce for the wing spars of the nations airplanes. About 200 of the soldier-loggers were stationed in Twin. This was Twin's high tide. At the time, Twin was the largest logging camp in the world, records show. With the extra lumber required by military production and the thriving timber industry, Twin was alive and booming. But the war, the industry boom and the good luck of Twin would all soon end-along with Twin itself. An influenza epidemic hit the log

Vintage Antique Ukulele Ukelele, Roy Smeck Mahogany Martin clone 1930s
Vintage Roy Smeck from back in the golden day of the 30s. This is in generally good condition. Made from all solid Honduras Mahogany except for the nut, which looks like ebony. The fretboard is stained dark, with white dots for markers. It has a couple of nicks along the bottom edges, but other than that just some strum wear on the body and a bit on the frets. Bar frets. Correct vintage tuners, no cracks, warps, splits. Plays beautifully and holds tune. Very solid and strong, excellent for an 8o+ year old uke. This one you can wail on and feel ok about it. Uke is loud and the action good. This was a copy of Martin's style O. Though it is a bit narrower in the waist and the body a tad shorter. The head is almost identical, though the spacing on the tuners is wider. Also, this is an Island style uke, with the fretboard level with the face ... moreof the body, whereas Martins had an ebony fretboard overlaid on their mahogany neck. Needless to say, but I will anyway, the finish-out on the Martins is better. The finish of this uke is almost perfect condition. With the exception of the aforementioned dings. Really nice varnish, no scratches or scuffs worth mentioning. Looks like it was played a few times, then put away in a closet for 80 years. A great. Strong uke from back in the day. Antique Vintage Ukulele, Ukelele, Island Style 1930 era Martin Shape
This uke dates to about 1930. It is not pure island style. Since the fretboard is slightly higher than the body, and it is made of mahogany, but it does have the simplicity of the island designs. It is made of solid Honduras mahogany. With an ebony nut, and what looks like maple/walnut(or ebony) purfling and marquetry around the top edge and the rosette. There are mother-of-pearl markers, and wire frets, indicating the true age of this uke. Wire frets were not used much after 1930. The headstock has a dark triangle at the top, but there is no indication as to the maker. The bracing inside is side-to-side, as is normal for ukuleles, but the bracing is shaved to a contour, like the finer ukes of the day. The body and neck are without cracks. Chips, breaks, repairs, impression damage, strum wear or problems of any kind. The bridge is tight. ... moreThe action normal. The back is radically arched, the heel beautifully tapered-see photos. When I found this uke. I was momentarily stunned at the condition. It looked as if it were bought in 1930, played a few times, and then put away for 70 years or so. This is not to say that it looks like a factory model of 2013. The ukes of this era were ALL assembled by hand. Sanded by hand, finished by hand, and set up by hand. It does not have a sprayed finish, but is as near perfect as a vintage finish can be. It has slight crazing, as vintage finishes do, with a few very minor scuffs and nicks that the age would indicate. That said. This is a stunning old uke. The'ropey' style was much sought after, and today is rare and hard to find. The tuners. I am not sure about. They look to have some vintage, but they may be violin pegs. Either way, they look good and work well. This uke is tight. Solid, and ready to play. It came with the original strings, one of which is gut( but they will need replacing immediately. Vintage Antique SLINGERLAND MayBell Banjo Ukelele c. 1927
Item is used and is sold as is. It is missing one tuner peg as pictured but the rest of the instrument is full intact. Slingerland Maybell Model Banjo Ukulele. C. 1927, made in Chicago, natural lacquer finish, maple rim and neck. A typical example of a 1920's Slingerland banjo uke. Built by the largest producer of inexpensive banjos of the era. These were made under many brandnames; this one carries Slingerland's own"MayBell" logo on the headstock and the company logo on the dowel as well. This simple but sturdy little banjo uke is typical of Slingerland's style, with a laminated maple rim and wire tonering. The maple neck has a rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot markers, and an ebony headpiece. This type of banjo uke was extremely popular during the"uke Fad" of the 1920's, played by students and non-professional ... moremusic makers everywhere, and are still a fine bargain in a 1920's instrument. Overall length is 20 1/2 in. 52.1 cm. 7 in. 17.8 cm. diameter head, and 2 1/2 in. 6.4 cm. in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 13 7/8 in. 352 mm. Width of nut is 1 1/4 in. 32 mm.

Vintage Antique Regal Ukulele, Ukelele, Martin clone, 1928-1937
Very nice old Regal-top of their line. If I'm not mistaken. This uke is built from mahogany with a raised ebony fretboard and mother-of-pearl markers. It has the correct vintage tuners-like new- wire frets, and new strings. The finish on this uke is very good vintage condition, smooth and glossy, with only a few scuffs or small scratches. It has been extremely well-kept all these years. Since I believe this uke dates to the 30s. This uke plays very well and has a particular lush sound to it. For some reason. It is not as loud as my Martins, but has a certain something the Martins do not, perhaps due to the slightly larger body size. This is a soprano. Not a concert sized uke. There are no cracks. Splits or problems that I could see. The uke plays extremely well, and could be mistaken for a much newer uke. The rosette. However, is slightly ... moreimpefect where it joins at the top, it is a bit pointy, though this is strictly cosmetic and could be set right by a luthier if so desired. Beautifully arched back. See photos. A very fine old uke. 80 years young.

Antique Vintage 1950s ★ Maccaferri Islander Soprano? Baritone? ★ UKELELE UKE

PRIORITY MAIL SHIPPING INCLUDES INSURANCE I'm giving my own description of what I observe of this item even tho I have zero knowledge of musical instruments.Most of the info in this ad will be details I got from researching this item on other websites.1st off I've had this item for about 20 years along with some other vintage stuff including a violin that I bought from an estate sale where they were tearing down an old log cabin home.It looks to be in nice condition considering its over 60 years old.It is about 21" long and 6 1/2" wide at the biggest part on base of it.The"Body" is a lil over 2" thick.There is a scratch or crack aprox 1" long on a curved part on the lower side.I'll try to capture this on camera shots.I tried to see if it would push in a ... morelittle but it seemed very firm so it may just be a scratch.It really doesn't show up much& I actually didn't see it until I went over this item with a magnifying glass looking for imperfections.It appears to have all the parts intact but is missing one string.I don't know the quality or condition of the 3 strings that are still on it except they make sound when strummed.I did quite a bit of research on this item since I'm very uneducated in this type of item& it seems it was designed by a guy named Mario Maccaferri in the early 1950s.It appears to be made out of some hard swirled plastic mostly except for the metal parts that tighten the strings.I put SOPRANO& BARITONE in the title because I wasn't sure which one it was.Correct me if I'm wrong The reason I feel this is extremely Rare is for one there is only one other one listed on Ebay and last I checked it was over $113 PLUS S&H and still had 3 days to go& because when he 1st designed it and released the 1st model his name wasn't printed on the"head" yet and the patent was pending still according to what I've read by experts on his stuff.Also the"designs"

Vintage Ukulele, Ukelele 1930s Island style Antique
Very Vintage old uke. Looks to date from the 1930s. And may be a Supertone. These were a mainland Uke company, whose products were made out of Honduras mahogany, as were most of the mainland ukes. This little piece of history is solid mahogany, with ivoroid binding and tuners. It is without flaws such as chips, cracks, splits, impact damage, deep scratches and the like. It looks as if it had not been played very much at all, and has only some of the very lightest scuffs across the face, very minor. The neck is straight, and the action, while a bit high, is good. It is nicely finished, with a beautiful arched back and tapered heel, all from Mahogany. The bridge is solid and the uke is very playable. The two items: the lowermost fret is missing. I will find my spare frets and send one along. Or install it. Also the celluloid tuners have shrunk ... morea bit with age, and they all have a side split, though this is cosmetic and they are useable as is. I also noticed a line along the side of the neck, as could be made by a fingernail. This does not show much, but I want to be completely candid as to the condition. This fine old uke comes with a vintage case that is decent condition. But could be worked on a bit with a new handle and leather closing strap. It is restrung with nylon strings. This may have been purchased during the uke craze in the 20's or 30's and played just a few times. Then put away in a closet, since it is in very good vintage condition.

Wendell Hall Redhead Vintage Antique Ukulele, Ukelele
Here it is. The storied Wendell Hall Redhead uke. This one dates to the mid-to-late 1920, when Wendell was hot stuff. This Redhead is in the best condition of the few I've seen over the years. Though it does have some issues. Concerns: neck is loose and removeable. Bottom fret gone. Three tuning pegs are original. One is not, though a good match. The rosette seam at the top closest to the neck looks like a crack; it is not. It's the rosette seam. Minor scratches and a couple of dings on the back Happy stuff: Excellent vintage shape. Looks to never have been played-no strum wear. Fretboard scuffs Decal is very good condition. beautiful rosette and ribbon mahogany body Original& untouched Assessment: I've never played this or strung it due to the loose neck. It looks solid. But I couldn't say without some repair and putting ... moretension on it. There is a line on the back. Short-2.5 inches-that looks like a crack, but it does not flex when pressed on either side, so probably a scratch. No other suspect areas that I can see. In short. This is a great looking piece of history for a uke almost 100 years old. I am selling it for decoration only due to the loose neck. Please do not buy it for a player unless you are skilled or know a luthier. The neck will need to be set correctly if you plan to play it& I am not selling it as a player. I do hope that's clear. It is sold as-is. I will also be selling a 1920s Martin 0 that has a loose brace. But is in the finest shape you ever did see. Factory. Also several other ukes. RARE ANTIQUE Hawaiian KOAWOOD Koa Round Banjo Body UKE Ukulele Concert Ukelele
This is a very beautiful and extremely rare antique ukulele. The ukulele comes from Hawaii. And appears to be made of solid Koa wood. It is very unique in design. The body is round, kind of like a banjo. The body measures 8" across, and 2 1/2" thick. The body is pinned together with all wood pins. Just about everything on this ukulele was at one time made of all wood. Even the frets are wood. The instrument has some cleats on the inside, on the side of the body. I can also feel a cleat underneath the area where the wood had split on the top. Everything on it is very stable, strong, and tight. I've had hundreds of ukuleles. T his is by far one of the most unique and nicest a ntique ukes I've ever had. There is no makers marks on it. It likely had a paper label that has long since dis appeared. The total length of the instrument ... moreis 22.5 inches. The nut to the bridge is 14" I'm not sure if it's a soprano or a concert. It has a nice bold Hawaiian sound. I'd add a piece of leather over the tailpiece. Just to keep the metal edge out of my wrist. I'd also either change the bridge or re-groove the existing one. When you play it hard the G and A tend to jump out. It would also need a fret job. I'd restore it back to original. It looks like ebony wood slices for frets. This amazing ukulele is likely from the early 1900's. And could eas il y be used to play or display. I t's v ery unusual to find a solid koa wood ukulele of this age not all cracked and damaged. Banjo Ukelele Banjolele Banjulele Brass Body Antique Vintage Needs Work Brooks?
This is a 21 inch banjo ukelele with no real identifying marks accept a small x stamped into the brass or copper near the underside of the neck and a Mercury Head Dime on the head. I am sorry but I know very little about the history of this instrument. It is in poor overall condition. The skin looks to have been repaired with an epoxy of some sort. The neck and frets are in nice condition with what appears to be mother of pearl circles and a Mercury Head dime secured on the top. This make me think it might be Brooks. In my brief research I see that they sometimes attach these coins to their instruments. The frets Look to be brass as well. The body is solid brass I think and also in pretty decent condition or at least salvageable. There is a wood circle around the top of the base where the skin attacked. There is a patent applied for stamp ... moreon the brass or copper ring and a small"x" stamped into it as previously mentioned. The neck is loose but could probably be secured by tightening a screw on the bottom. I haven't tried to clean it or do any type of repairs. I found it an estate sale just today November 19th. This is a great old Ukulele. It looks to be made with all solid woods. I'd guess the age of it is around 70 years old. Based on the construction. I could not see any veneer or plywood on it. It must have been stored well, due to there is no cracks or separation on it. Very solid soprano uke. It shows some normal wear, but nothing major. There is no makers mark on it. Antique USA made BARITONE UKULELE ukelele uke with original case, 1920s ?
Nice antique baritone uke with case. No markings on it anywhere. But from its construction it appears to be American made and very old, possibly 1920s or 1930s vintage. Nice checkered binding around soundhole, bound top. Very nice woodgrain. It appears to be in very good condition for such an oldie, no cracks or damage anywhere that I could see. Some typical scuffs and finish checking. The bridge is lifting slightly and will need to be re-glued. Alligator chipboard case appears to be original. It has some wear and moisture damage on one side, but is still mostly solid and does its job. This instrument was found in a Gloucester Massachusetts estate. The Label on head-stock says Mele above a Hawaiian girl. And below her reads B&J NY. It looks as if the keys have been replaced. But, it was found with what look to be the original keys as well as a metal piece which looks to hold the strings on the other end in a plastic bag. The item comes to you“as is” It has no strings. Handsome Antique Vintage Wooden P'Mico Banjo, Banjolina, Ukelele, 1920's 1930s
Antique P'Mico Banjolina Measures approximately 20 1/2" long in total. The head measures 7" in diameter. Beautiful maple colored wood throughout. The decal is worn away a bit at the top of the neck. There is a slight chip on the back of the neck(see photo#9) and a hairline crack on the side of the head(see photo#10) The goatskin drum is in obvious need of repair and 3 of the four strings are missing. All 4 tuning tabs are present and are in good condition. I am not any sort of an expert on instruments. So I am sure that my description is not quite as complete as it ought to be. Aww. Sweet Banjo purchased from the original family. Was passed down over the generations. Banjo is by Wendell Hall. The pic of the logo looks blurred, logo is very readable. Seems to be all original here. The tuners work fine, a couple of them may be wound backwards, but not a problem! She is 22 1/2" long. I am a guitar player. But not a banjo player! I did get a nice tone from it. Seems very solid and playable, with a little TLC. There is some wear to the frets, mainly the first four. There are four fret dots that look to be mother of pearl. There is some loss to the binding trim. About 1/3 gone, and a very small piece gone on the other side. Seems that the clear coat is crackled and mainly gone, this is to be expected with the age. I believe it has been many years since this antique banjo has been played! The painting on the head of the piece appears to be very old. This beautiful piece is a great decorative piece for a music room! It measures 20.5 inches in length. The strings. Bridge, tailpiece and one of the pegs are missing. Item is from the early 1900's- I believe it is from the 1920's but I am not positive. The box had a letter inside dated 1927. Letter has nothing to do with the ukelin, but I will be including it. Sheet music is old& delicate-will be well packed to keep it from bending or breaking. Antique Vintage Soprano Ukelele with a flamed back. There are no markings on it but it looks very old. The bridge is sloppily glued on. There is a small crack on the top, there are cracks on the side that are repaired sloppily also. The tuners appear handmade. The neck is a little loose and will probably need to be glued down. Not sure what the wood is but appears it may be koa, but again, I'm not sure. It is about 20 1/2" long and 6" wide. Sold as-is. Thanks

Circa 1880-1900, but please make up your own mind about this. The mandolin measures approx 24 inches(600mm) long and is made from polished rosewood and boxwood. with boxwood stringing between the rosewood ribs) The outher edge and the sound hole are decorated with mother of pearl inlay. And it has a pine soundboard. It is in good. Sound condition, with no damage or repairs, t here are no split ribs. And all the machine heads turn as they should. Inside the instrument still has the original makers' label which reads MANDOLINO IL GLOBO FABRICANTE DI ITALIA The strings would benefit from being replaced. This is a beautiful antique instrument. This instrument comes from the large collection of instruments from a retired bar owner from Angola. IN. I have been selling his instruments in batches. We are on batch 3. Antique Wood String Banjo Ukelele - Original Finish, complete - 21 Inches
I believe that this is called a banjo ukelele. There are no maker marks on it that I can find. I do know that it is a minimum of 70 years old. And was played originally in Hawaii by the father of a dear friend of mine. It retains the original finish, has 4 strings, 1 which is wire, and the original skin. The tuning keys are present and function, the metal band and tighteners are all present. The skin is tight with no tears or damage. The bridge is not attached under the strings and has no breaks or damage to it. The fretwork is all there. Structurally this little jewel is tight and complete. I do not know what type of wood it is made of, I do know that the original finish is red-based. It is 21 inches long and 7 1/2 wide. I know absolutely nothing about instruments so if anyone has any info to add to this I would love to know. Please look ... moreat my photos as they constitute part of the description.
