Free Shipping Location: United States Here is fabulous old harp made by Wurlitzer. It has 46 strings. We could not figure out what style it was but it is No. 133. Ornate detail. Birds eye ... moremaple, paw feet(fancier on the front than the back) It is just under 6' tall and about 33" wide. It has had some repainting on the gilt finish, there are a few lines in the veneer at the top, but seems structurally solid. These were made by Wurlitzer between 1913-1934. There were about 1540 made and they were numbered chronologically. We are not experts in this area. No shipping. Local pickup only or buyer to arrange their own shipping, will hold for a bit after payment to allow for you to make arrangements. Extremely Rare Antique Myanmar Saung Gauk otherwise known as a Burmese Boat Harp. These particular instruments rarely come up for sale and this one probably dates to the 1950's or earlier with all original silk rope and silk string. Later instruments used nylon. Overall condition is amazing with no damage or cracks to boat or neck. These instruments are very important to Burmese culture and when available make for great decorative pieces. Good condition with some wear as seen in the pics. The full-figured female torso that serves as the harp's neck is surmounted by two heads. Traditionally said to represent the Mangbetu's Queen Nenzima and King Yangala. The placement of the tuning pegs and strings to the neck are typical features of Mangbetu harp construction. The twisted copper wire depicts the geometric, dotted, linear body painting favored by Mangbetu women. The elongated heads represent the Mangbetu's Queen Nenzima and King Yangala. The Phonoharp Company introduced ... morenothing new, functionally, to the autoharp, but only produced some of the pre-existing models that had been pioneered at Philadelphia and Dolgeville. However, the company did leave its mark in the ornamentation category. The Phonoharp Company's tail cover decals were the most imaginitive and elaborate of any company that produced autoharps. The same decals also adorned the tail covers of their chord-zithers. A few are shown. One of the most often-encountered accompaniment gizmos is this"chord-thumping" device. The player lifts the metal tab of choice. Then releases it, causing the apparatus(which is equipped with a hard felt pad) to spring downward, striking the 4 strings of the selected chord all at once. As one might imagine. The functionality of the chords would be quite limited if the chord thumper alone was used for accompaniment. However, in the default at-rest position, the thumpers are up off the strings, leaving the accompaniment section available to be played in the usual manner with the fingers. ANTIQUE HARP 400 Plus years old for museum collection
I have fitted strings for show only and guessed at the number and placement of them. 10 for treble and 8 for bass. There are extra holes and pegs where various users have changed the string arrangements over the years. There are some chalk marks inside the sound chamber which seem to coincide with where the strings should be.The back of the sound chamber which is open is polished and worn where it would have rubbed against the players clothes. Some of the pegs were missing when I bought this instrument(about 30 years ago) and I made some rough copies to make up the numbers. There was a wide crack running almost the full length of the sound chamber near where the strings go. I restored the crack and it is still visible if examined closely. On the top of the sound chamber at the front there is a bronze( shield with three scimitars and at the ... moreback some pewter. As far as the history of this harp is concerned the person I bought it from. An antique dealer in Bermondsey antique market told me that he had bought a lovely 16th century fireplace which had been taken out from where it was used circa 1920 and stored. The person who sold it to the antique dealer said that when it was removed(the fireplace) there was what appeared to be a hiding hole or cavity behind it with this harp standing upright in it. The antique dealer was told that the harp was to go with the fireplace although the dealer was reluctant to take it. I bought the harp immediately and was not interested in the fireplace! This is all I know of the history of the harp. When I acquired the harp it was just dusty and had probably been played around with by someone because it had a few rusty steel guitar strings fitted. Around 20 years ago I decided to sell the harp and was negotiating with someone on behalf of the National Museum in Dublin. They decided to get the opinion of an expert in USA who turned out to be ignorant and made a judgement on the basis of sight of a photograph and pronounced it a fake! I still have his letter. Antique 19th Century Erard Harp
Made in London in 1881(have copy of orig. Erard factory records) Was purchased by Colonel Foster of Hornby Castle. Lancashire, presumably for his wife Henrietta. Harp was in playing cond. having had some repairs performed, about 50 years ago. It is still fully strung, but it needs soundboard and other work to play. The set of little doors that could open and close on the back, controlled originally by a pedal, have been removed, making it more like a 20th century concert harp, by which time such doors had become obsolete. There is no travel trunk with the harp, but I can take it to you in the greater NY-NE area for $1 per mile, provided you're sure you want it, and have looked at it and paid for it in advance. Rare and magnificent British and United Clock Co. Ltd Birmingham. England. This well known and rare sought after manufacturer were only in production for a short period of time as they could not compete with the flooding of cheaper German clocks during the period. He. After all these years keeps time magnificently and this is one of their most beautiful and rare models in the shape of a Harp. Supported by and Art Nouveau shaped strut(this is not bent, it was structured this way to hold the clock as would an real harp, stand) To the top left corner from the rear there has been loss to the original blue velvet which has lightened with age. This said, tucked into the back, there is sufficient overlapping of spare velvet for a good restorer to fix. The front holds the face within the body of the Harp and is very intricate in its foliate detail. The clock is all original. Beneath the Arabic numerals there is slight crazing to the porcelain dial but is unseen under the naked eye. No looseness and I could only see them under a powerful loop. There is no label, I guess it was made around 1900 to 1930, maybe from Southgermany or Markneukirchen. Finest all solid woods, the top is solid spruce, the back and sides are made of wonderful flamed maple. The condition is near perfect(it was restored a time ago) for its age, straight neck with finest sound. The fingerboard with 20 frets(good condition) is made of ebony. 3 mop markers. Wonderful head, the tuners work very well(I think the two brown wooden tuners were replaced and the black one is the original) the wonderful bridge is ... moreoriginal and in good condition. WALTON'S IRISH LAP HARP travel therapy antique collectible rare toy Celtic music
Hello. This is a nice, very small, fully-playable lap harp. The inscription on the mounted metal plate reads: Brian Boru Miniature Irish Harp No. 1122 Made by Waltons Dublin" I tried to get a good close-up in the pictures of the plaque) This little harp has 15 strings, with a range of two octaves, starting at the 5th line treble clef F, and going up to the highest F above; at first I thought this harp was originally strung entirely in gut strings, but now I'm thinking they are all nylons, as they are shiny on the ends where they wind to the peg(perhaps the strings were old and needed cleaning? I measured the string gauges with micrometers to create a stringing chart(D-F.022, G-C.025, E-F.028, C-D.032, and F-B.036) and replaced the lower octave with nylon monofilaments(would have changed the upper octave but did not have the gauges ... morehandy, though they all tune up fine, and if I find some more strings of the correct gauges around the house, I will put them on) The string spacing is more or less the same compared to other lap harps(not narrow) and the string tension is light, as is the instrument itself(appx. 18" from tip to toe) This harp also features through tuning-pegs which once tuned hold their pitch just fine, and I played several songs on this little harp despite its shorter range of two octaves. Although not included with this auction, a regular lap-harp/zither tuning wrench fits the tuning-pegs PERFECTLY! Overall condition is good, but as you would expect from an antique, there are some cosmetic issues from use, which are really only more noticeable on closer inspection. The woods on this harp have a very nice grain pattern, as I tried to capture in the pictures. I also made a little video of me playing a few songs on the harp. This is for an original large rare old antique solid bronze Celtic Irish Harp door knocker complete with knocker pads( one origiansl and two spare brass ones) the knocker is about 14cm( 5.5" high 9.5cm( 3.75" wide. Decorated as shown with Celtic patterns. I beleive there is a makers make as shown in picture three but the years and weather have taken it toll on this and it is unreadable, other than that it is a fine old knocker and rare.

This auction is for the MANDOLIN you see here. I thought it was a dulcimer. But it says Mandolin Harp, as you can see by the paper in the center. Has patent dates of 1894, 1899 and 1900. In very nice condition, but it does appear to be missing 3 strings(picture#10) and there is a crack in one of the pieces of wood(picture#6) Not sure how complete it is, it comes exactly as you see it here. 19.5" long, 15-3/8" wide at the bottom. Figurine of a Nude Child off-white color with bright gold trim. Pale rosy cheeks and beige hair. Marking on the bottom is a crown trademark then a large M over an O and GERMANY. This mic does not work and i'm not sure why because it's all there and in excellent condition but it appears to be a crystal element and that's most likely the case as the old crystal elements don't survive very long. Antique Arts&Crafts Style Pine( with dark finish) Dresser Harp and Mirror Frame(no glass) I believe it originally was on a highboy style dresser which is a tall narrower width wise with 5 or 6 drawers rather than a 3 or 4 drawer lower dresser. The width of this harp and mirror is about 32 1\2 inches wide which would more than likely be too short for a lower type dresser because they are usually high 30's to 40's inches wide. The measurements are the total height to the top of the mirror from the bottom is about 23" and the height of the post(harp sides) would be 20 3\4" The outside measurements of the mirror itself is 22 1\2" wide and 20 1\2" tall and the glass itself would you get to put in the frame is 20 1\2 x 22 1\2 inches. The original mirror hinges are both there and the back wood supports are also there. ... moreJust to let you know this harp and mirror was made to sit on the back edge of the top thus the support strips which screw on to the very back of the dresser itself verses the type that sets in the space on back and actually screws into the top itself.
