Antique CF Zimmermann's Autoharp Musical Instrument For sale at a buy it now fixed price is this vintage musical instrument patented in May 1882. It is the CF Zimmermann's Autoharp. It has 21 strings. All intact and the key and markings that you see. The white portions appear to be made of celluloid, a favorite material before plastic was invented. It is about 17 1/2 inches long. Condition is used but pretty good for one of these. The feet are intact. We see nothing missing except a couple of very small areas of the celluloid. A couple of the small screws for the trim no longer hold and could use replacement with something a little longer.but overall this one is pretty nice albeit with a little wear and a little top scuffing as you see in the photo. Antique Vintage Marxophone - Autoharp/Mandolin/Guitar/Zither/Hammered-Dulcimer
You are bidding on an Antique Vintage Marxophone Mandolin/Guitar/Zither/Autoharp/Hammered-Dulcimer instrument. This particular Marxophone was originally produced by the International Music Corporation in Hoboken. NJ as indicated by the faded, but readable label inside of the soundhole. The instrument is in good shape considering its age. The finish is still nice. And all of the strings are intact(though some of them probably need a good tuning) All of the hammers are also intact and in working order. The wood underneath the strings does not appear to be warped at all, but there is a small crack in the wood the goes through the center of the soundhole(see picture) However, this crack does not appear to affect the playability of the instrument. The finish/stain on the bottom wood of the instrument is also in good shape, though there are some ... morecracks(see picture) The Marxophone sign and lettering look pretty good and you can clearly see the notes. Note letters, and numbers as well as PATENT NO. 1044553. The only issue with the sign is that the metal arm on the right side has become loose from the instrument somehow(see picture) but you would never know looking at it. A good part of the note graphics under the left-hand chord strings has faded(see picture) but both the American Eagle graphic in the upper left-hand corner and the graphic around the sound hole are in good condition. Other than that, it just needs a good cleaning and dusting. All-in-all. This is a really nice antique instrument that is still in playable shape!

However inside the sound hole is a label that reads: Chord Harps' This autoharp is a stringed musical instrument with bars attached to dampers. When depressed these dampers mute all of the strings other than those that form the required chord. The autoharp is not from the harp family- it is a chorded zither. The zither/harp has 6 damper bars and 25 strings. T he 6 circular buttons to the damper bars are intact along with original labels to dampers and to the body of the harp. There are losses to the paint to the body and also to the transfer and there are minor nicks to the edges of the instrument. As seen in the photos. Instrument retains all original strings, plus a couple of additional strings inside a compartment in the case. Original wooden case is black wood, with 2 hook closures. Case has some damage on the back side, and some scratches and discolorations…see pictures for more detail. There is no key for the lock. Original burgundy fabric lining is mostly intact. This is an antique Zimmerman Autoharp made in Dolgeville New York. It is a 31 string instrument and has all strings but 5 string. It has nice graphics of a banjo. Guitar, cymbal and drum. I really don't know anything about it. It is wooden. There is a crack in the back, as shown. It comes in the original case. It also has the adjustment instrument included.

While I am not an expert on this type of musical instrument, it is similar to an Autoharp or Zither. It looks to be in very good condition. All of the strings are present and the decals are bright and complete. The front has a beautiful peacock decoration. There are no cracks in the wood. There is also a string bow that is in excellent condition. I do not find any makers mark on the bow. There is also a tuning key and two wire music holders. There are also over 50 pieces of sheet music. The violin measures just over 24 inches ... morelong and the bow is 19 inches long. In researching this instrument on the internet, it was stated that only three examples of instruments bearing this name are known to exist. Up for auction is a very old Oscar Schmidt Zither or Mandolin Guitar. The inside label notes: Manufactured by the Oscar Schmidt International. 87 Ferry St. Jersey City, NJ. The body of the Zither measures 19" high and 12 1/2" across at its' widest point. This has 44 strings and the inlaid bottom label denotes the pitch of each one. The last C string is missing. The instrument also has delineation on the front. There is a crack that runs through the center. I have tried to get a closer picture of this. It sits on 3 feet. The back of the instrument has an impressed serial number 6138. It also has a unique way of dating ito the the early 1940's. One the back the owner wrote their name in pencil and the year. Offered without reserve is an antique Zither Harp Autoharp Guitar type old String Instrument from an estate. The top ands sides are Rosewood with a nice looking binding inlay. The instrument will require some repairs. The top right is missing a 3/4" long piece of the binding, the lower corner on the back has a small chip and there are some cracks where the wood was joined and by one of the feet. It is also missing a piece from the wooden piece that the strings would fasten to and it has no strings on it. It measures approx. 1 1/4" thick, 12 1/2" across and it is 20" tall. Antique Vintage Chord Mandolin Guitar Zither Autoharp Dulcimer Measures approximately 33" long x 10" wide. Showing it's age! Some cracks in the wood. Needs some tuning. Probably new strings? Antique 1882 C.F. Zimmerman Autoharp No. 3 w/ Books& Box Sheet Music Tools Description. Welcome! This Zimmerman autoharp comes in it's original box. It is model 101 and patented on May 9, 1882. There is alot of sheet music in the bottom of the box, and the other pamphlets shown, including a book of music in another language, maybe German. The autoharp needs a little TLC, I showed where it needs to be pushed back together, the nails are there but I will let you put it back together. I don't see any splits or cracks in the wood, but look at the pictures and feel free to ask for other views if you want them. There are alot of tools and accessories, as shown in the pictures. The original box is pretty beat up, has been taped, but is the original nonetheless! Handsome Antique Vintage OSCAR SCHMIDT Autoharp Zither
Antique/Vintage Oscar Schmidt International Inc. Autoharp Zither. I am not knowledgeable enough to know the difference between an Autoharp or a Zither. So I put both names. I do not play either instrument or any instrument for that matter. This instrument looks like it is in good condition to me. All that is see is a few minor scratch type marks, one of the strings is loose and there is a panel on the bottom that is missing a screw on one side(see photo#7) There is a piece of wood, that looks like a key, that was in the box(see photo#8) It is about 19" x 13" widest part) x 1 3/8" tall(just the wood) if I include the metal pieces. It is about 2 1/4" tall. NOTE: SHIPPING will be reduced if you live in a state close to Maryland. Wait for invoice from me to pay.

Only a No. 4" on stem at handle. cast and machined Iron(some blueing remains. light pitting on stem) brass inserts. Ebony( handle. steel ends. Approx 9/16 deep, approx 6X7mm across opening. Handle is 5 1/8" long. Stem comes out 3 1/4 inches. Clearance including handle is about 4 5/8th inch. Ask questions if you need.

Up for auction is an antique autoharp zither with tuning wrench. 2 old picks, and original wood carrying case, looks like from mid- to late 1800’s, no makers markings or id. Autoharp is 23” x 10” wide at widest, and in VG condition, no cracks in top or sides, there are 2 tight cracks in bottom by middle foot(feet look like bone, all 3 here and in nice shape) and a few small chips on 2 sides. 30 strings total == 25 string zither and 5 string fretboard with 30 frets(one of those fretboard strings missing) Case is in good+ condition, brass handle and the 2 latches here and fine, some of the corner hardware is missing. This harp measures 17 1/2 inches long. There is a foil type label inside that is very hard to read. Please evaluate the condition based on the photos as I have no knowledge of these items. Everything appears in working order. The chord buttons seem to work correctly. The strings could use tuning.

Oscar Schmidt Autoharp Antique Vintage Collectible Rare Unique Old Guitar
I have here from the research I have done a 1915 Oscar Shmidt Special Niagara Model zither. Lap guitar, auto harp in relatively good condition for its age. I have not attempted to clean this in any form as I do not wish to damage it and this is why you will find it is a little dusty and has metal flickers from the old string on the front. There is also a hairline crack in the backing of this with previous owner placing clear tape over it to stop it spreading further. There is only one original string missing far left. This would be a great piece for collectors as it is a very rare example of Oscar Shmidt's work. In the centre cut out you can still make out his original trade mark logo and details. Up for sale is a vintage Zither/ Autoharp. This stringed instrument was purchased from an estate sale and we are not experts in this type of stringed instrument. There is no makers mark that we can find however. The back has the letter B and also the numbers 3842. There is a metal wire for hanging it as a wall decoration. The back side has a crack that starts at the bottom next to the number 2. It shows wear in the wood around the edges as in worn spots and scratching, knicks in wood. It also shows some tarnish, color fading, and we were told it has original parts. Does appear to be missing a string or two. It measures approximately 21 inches long by 15 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches deep. Please view pictures as they show the condition best and feel free to ask any questions. It is 21" long x 11 1/2" wide at its widest point. It has 36 Strings. It weighs 6 pounds excluding the case. There are two picks. Four wood pegs(1 larger& 3 smaller) and one Black Diamond String included. Condition of Autoharp: The body needs work- some TLC. The top of the body has pulled away from the back from too much tension on the strings as you can see on our pictures. Otherwise. This is an original 1920's era Violin-Uke made by Marxochime Company in New Troy. Michigan. Comes with original paperwork that includes a page on how to number sheet music and tuning the violin uke, sheet music for Everybody Works But Father, Old Black Joe, and Push Dem Clouds Away. Sheet music is in sealed laminated plastic for protection. The violin-uke(seen in the 2nd photo) is missing 4 strings- all in the top two rows in the corner. Those need replacing. Also comes with the original lower half of the carrying case. Top half is missing. All decals and inlay in the wood are in great shape! Overall, this instrument is in remarkable condition for its age and makes a great collector item! I believe it could be fixed up and played but i know very little about old stringed instruments. case is wooden and is 22 x 14 x 3 inches. case has 2 cracks in the bottom but is still functional. i am selling this for a retired American military officer who bought this while he was stationed in Germany- so i am fairly sure this is German made. everything all together weighs just under 9 lbs. Very nice condition instrument. Several 1890’s patent dates. The latest being April 17, 1894. Comes with a pick. Tuning wrench, instruction manual, catalog of sheet music and seven tattered sheets of music. Conditon is very good to excellent. There is one string missing at the high end and so is the wire rack that supports the sheet music. The box that it comes with is there. But in very bad condition. Vintage Antique Oscar Schmidt International Autoharp Black 36 Strings, 12 Chords
Up to bid is a Vintage/Antique Autoharp by Oscar Schmidt-International Inc. With Tuner and Case. This neat Autoharp has 36 Strings and 12 Chords. There is a scale on the bottom which tells you the note of each string. Dimensions are about 22" long. 12" at its widest point and 3 1/2" at its highest point. Autoharp is in vintage condition and will need some dusting and tuning. Structure and strings are in good condition with scratches on the body and some rusting on the strings. The initials"S.B. are painted on the body. And there is a name tag that reads"Shelly" on the front. Autoharp comes in case and with tuner. Case is in vintage condition. Is protective and holds up very well, but has a musty smell and has"Shelly Batt" written on side. Tuner has some rust but still does its job well. Batt" is ... morewritten in red on handle.
